I watched Squid Game with my wife, we both loved it and were happy they’re making a season 2. Now, what’s amazing to me is that Lee Jung-Jae, who as you mentioned is not a native English speaking actor. The actor actually learned to speak english just for his role in the Acolyte. That’s the kind of dedication that makes a person an amazing actor in my opinion.😁

8:09 It does look like her hair isn't as colored as it appears in the show. Her hair starts as a natural dark brown but then fades into a dark maroon at the ends. It could stand to be a bit more prominent of a maroon. Same goes for Mae.

I think Sol is my favorite too. I remember thinking how much he kinda reminded me of Qui Gon. Idk if it’s legit (I’m pretty sure it was), but in an interview he said he modeled his character after Liam’s portrayal of Qui Gon. Supposedly he learned English in three months! Just seemed so stoic, patient, compassionate. It’s not MY FAVORITE Star Wars show, but I’m digging it. I’m with you on liking it being something completely separate from the Skywalker Saga. New characters, new motives, new plots, new places, new species, it just makes the galaxy feel even bigger. These are some very dope figgies. They put in a lot of sculpting and paint on these. I preordered them right after the very first episode, the same night it premiered. I thought Indara was very interesting and I would have liked to see more of Kelnacca! But there’s still two more episodes! So who knows?! I’m ready for a “stranger” and Kelnacca figure! I want them NOW!! If they ain’t gonna give us Gungi, I need Kelnacca! We all deserve a wookie Jedi on our shelves damnit!!😂😂 I enjoyed the review my dude! Have fun setting those up on the shelf. (I’m sure you have already)
Jecki also looks phenomenal! That figure has a lot going on! Along with Mae! I wasn’t feeling the high republic color at first but it’s beginning to grow on me. The knee swivel and boot swivel seem redundant. I get why they’re not doing the thought cut like you said (esthetic) but it’s not a big deal. What a dope wave of figs.
The knee and boot swivel is probably done to save on paint. Molding separate pieces is probably cheaper than painting the top of the boot or pants. But it does over complicate the leg articulation.
As a huge Star Wars fan I’m 50/50 on the new show … there were some parts they really didn’t need to put into the show … But the visual effects and the light saber fighting was great.. I’m so buying these figures!!!!! Hope you had a great weekend Ed
As a fan of the show, the era, and most importantly, a customizer, this wave has me very excited. Especially seeing as, let's be honest, we'll be seeing some good discounts down the line for cheap Jedi bucks
A Torbin two pack with a flash back Sol or Mother Aneseya would be cool Obviously Kelnacca and the Stranger are both musts (I hope the Stranger’s helmet, gauntlet and robe can be removed to see the back scars) Mother Korill would also be sick, you could pack her with a flashback Indara and save on tooling. And as long as we’re wishing, I’d definitely buy Vernestra day one

I'm loving The Acolyte! So much so that I really want these to be my first Black Series figures. I've never had these before though, and I've got a sort of random question - Can they sit? I'm talking especially about the Jedi figures whose tabards look like they'd get in the way?
Cancelled my order on the line. The show isn't what I hoped it would be. And at this moment shelfspace is worth more than these figures. Maybe I'll buy if they get in clearance. But now it's a hard pass for me.
I like the show... it has somethin to it, it's not the best show of all times of course but it gets me. it gets me like the prequels got me. but because of all this mostly negatively loaded madness on the internet around the show I don't think this figures will fly out the shelves, so I will defintely wait for discounts. The figures are good. I'm excited to get them. Who doesn't want more Jedi on the shelf? Although, I'm still not feeling the soft goods. These are much improved but still lacking.
The show to me is inconsistent, all over the place and contradictory to itself. But your right, Jedi figures are always welcomed who can say no to some new jedi. I kinda like how they come back to the old red box packaging design while using elements of the newer 2020 mural packaging. I kinda would want to pick them up but probably wont, not because i do not like the show, but because since the 24.99 price point, which puts black series at about 28 dollars in my area, its been a hard pill to swallow and i cut back from buying black series, even figures i really want, i don't buy them because the price hikes kinda priced me out from getting any black series. the only ones i felt compelled to buy even though i hated the new price was the season 2 bad batch crew and death watch mandos, but since then I haven't bought any more black series at retail price
The figures are fine. The Stranger would be a must buy. Osha is okay. Sol is the best. If I get Sol I can’t not get Jecki and Yord. So if I buy one of these I’d feel incomplete not buying the rest. So the show is ok. I see it as a very typical cop show. I do feel this whole story should have been two hour and a half movies. Cut out all the fluff and filler. Most of the episode “day” could be cut and not change the story. Honestly episode six is 15 min of good content. I know they wanted eight weeks of content. This could have been two films released and told the story. The demise of the witches story/mystery better get more fleshed out by episode seven or I’m probably going to loose interest. It’s painfully obvious a witch or witches minds controlled the Jedi to attack them so to show them as evil. It went wrong. So the Jedi either embarrassed by their actions or their reactions. It sucks the Jedi Wookiee has been under utilized. The show is as good to me as the takes of the Empire outside the last episode which was tremendous. Episode five was pretty awesome too. Eh. I’ll probably skip these unless lower costs happen and I get sucked in.

There’s a few dead characters but I didn’t buy Quill until he was on sale and I already had most of the others. Now I would buy these in order of screen time, but they’re not all essentials. If Hasbro could get me some Acolyte product before the shows finale I’d love to buy it to show my support.
Full disclosure: I’ve not watched The Acolyte so I can’t comment on the show. Many people have done so without having watched it while crying their babyface tears of crocodile and anger. The only figure I would be interested in is Jecki. It’s not because of the character but rather the one playing her. I’m glad that Dafne Keen is doing more projects. I would get her TVC version when it’s announced and most likely keep it carded, never to open it because I won’t have another character to pair it with.
Andor is arguably my favorite show of all time (beside Daredevil) and I agree on the figs not being stellar. Like I bought them because I’m whipped to Star Wars but they weren’t the most interesting 😂
Awesome review! These look really good. I appreciate all of the "newness" on these. I also think that Osha figure is so well done, especially with all of the accessories. This is a strange wave for me, because I am not buying it (my first BS wave of original characters I am skipping). The show's writing and acting are just not at a level that I enjoy (I find the writing often contradicts itself and the characters are inconsistent at being themselves). Also, the look of the show feels somehow claustrophobic and soundstagey (the sets look like Buffy sets to me... I love Buffy, but it doesn't work well for Star Wars). If these figures end up at Ollie's I will grab a few, but that's not me being passive aggressive, I just want a few for customs. Especially an Indara, so I can upgrade my custom Avar Kriss figure. Mike, question: The eyes on these don't look photo real, but they don't look pre-photo real either. Somewhere in-between, can you confirm this?
