@MikeKaess another puzzle - is Mara Jade / Jaina Solo reusing at least the torso from GIJoe or PRLC? It's surprising if TBS made exactly one female torso with that setup, then never again. Even ML didn't have that much torso articulation until 2023.
Good review Mike! I was one of those kids who read and loved the Thrawn trilogy back in the early nineties, when this was all the new Star Wars we could get. So this was an insta-buy for me and I'm super-glad I have it. Some of you figure criticisms are valid, but I just don't care. This is a great set.

Honestly, kitbashing the two thrawn trilogy Luke’s together makes a pretty good figure. I decided to swap the legs, and gave him the RotJ belt too. Adds a lot more visual flair. Slightly more accurate to when Luke takes off his jacket in the comic I also swapped the heads, because I prefer the RotJ head over the ESB head, had to go through my parts bin to find a neck dumbbell that made it the right height(I think it was the mando fleet commander’s)
@@MikeKaess you can actually see what it ends up looking like if you scroll all the way up to it in the OoTB server’s custom channel. Although whenever I posted that photo, I just used the Jedi neck because I still hadn’t found the other dumbbell joint. May have to scroll for a bit
I absolutely love this set! I get excited in general for action figures, but this set had me feeling Saturday morning cartoons energy since I ordered it. My Mara figure from this set is a shelf-diver, but having a C'baoth and Luuke figure blows my mind and is why I ordered it.
Thank you for figuring out who’s legs Joruus used, I’ve been looking at them and I could not figure it out for the life of me. Doesn’t help that my skiff Lando is packed away so I couldn’t compare

Yeah I would've much preferred a repacked Heir to the Empire Luke, since he switches from his ROTJ duel look to his sleeveless vest. A Joruus and Luuke 2 pack would be the ideal release and we'd still have all the final battle characters (Luke, Mara Jade) from prior releases.
This set gives me hope for figures based on Star Wars Legacy! How about a 4 pack with Cade Skywalker (Vader’s legs, Dagoba Luke’s arms with a new torso and head), Darth Krayt, Darth Talon, and if they need another reuse heavy figure force ghost Luke
Passing on this set but I’d love that alternate Mara Jade head. Oh well. I hope publication line is continued in 2025 with more Scar Squadron like Misty or really want Zuke. It looks like they are doing the Shadows story with Prince Xizor and I’m sure Dash Rendar follows. They showed one at SDCC right? I’m still catching up as I was traveling during Con. Maybe that make good on Crimson story and make the actual Carnor Jax. I’m also down for Jana Solo getting her brother Jacen. I still wish Ben Solo in Force awaken was named Jacen. Sure it’s thrown off by Rey. They wanted to both honor Skywalker and separate from that family. The Royal Force Family. Anyway. I hope for more.
Hello Mike. I've never read the novels these figures were from, but I decided to pick this set up for my collection. I already own the Jedi Luke and the first Mara Jade figures so that was a little disappointing but I wanted this set so I also got mine for $90 dollars. The Luuke and C'Boath were the ones I honestly wanted and I can put the alternate Mara head on and I can use Jedi Luke for another display. A bit pricey but I'm happy with my purchase. Wow that box is huge! It reminds me of old PC game boxes. I have Luke and Mara, since Luuke is a lot of re-use, the only one really worth it to me was Joruus, so I cancelled my pre-order. Might pick it up again at some point.
No, I’m right there with you. In fact, I don’t know it was a trilogy when I checked Dark Force Rising out from the library in 1994, I got half way through the book when a friend told me I was reading book 2. But I agree, it’s the best book from the trilogy.
When I was at college in the nineties, a couple of my class mates were heavily into the Thrawn trilogy. They raved over it, so thos is interesting to me. Very lazy of Hasbro not to come up with a better option than just shoving the Return of The Jedi Luke in this set.
Nice review! So I used that Jedi luke for a captain Antilles custom. It’s the perfect body for it. There’s a couple of kits on esty to easily convert him. You should check it out bud!
I Loved the Heir to the Empire Trilogy, although I can't remember Any of the Story except Joruus, and Thrawn. I do remember that the Reason Thrawn kept Ysalamir around Him, because they Nullified Force Abilities. I Definitely Need this Set. I don't have Any of these Figures from Earlier Releases yet, so it's an Easy Yes for Me. $90 sounds about right for 4 Figures, especially since most of the Media Based Figures were $24.99 to $27.99 ea.
Your Heir To the Empire Custom Luke is fire. I passed on it because I felt like it was too light on deco compared to the art piece it was based on. Also for the increased price for reuse / kit-bash was off putting. The Princess Leia Lucas Publishing Line is my favorite Leia though.

I dont think it's a bad sculpt or paint. If you look at the artwork from the comics they used... he has a sort of unhinged quality. I think they nailed that.

@@pletho79 Jaina predates GI Joe classified by about 4 years and PRLC by 3. She came out in 2016. She’s just an anomaly of articulation.

Yeah I had to apply some loose joint oil to her ankles and the pelvic ball joints. She would not stand whatsoever.

They really should have included that alt head in the first one. Or made their figure from Dark Force Rising someone else like Talon Karrde
