GIRL…..You ROCK!!!❤ I have been a Christian since 1980. I LOVE to dive into the Word. There is always a new nugget of mystery or surprise every time I open one of my many Bibles. My favorite Bible is the NASB and I love a really good study Bible that has footnotes, commentary, maps and all the stuff. I love to mark it and write in it. Make it my personal journey with my Jesus. I am 71
and You inspire me. Keep going and keep growing. God Bless! Vickie Culver from Alabama 😉

Thank you ❤ I want to share a fear of mine, I have a 7y old son, so I fear that my little one is going to decide to turn his back on Christ.
When you said that your pastor gave you the Bible when you where 9, I smiled, I put that worry of mine into Gods hands, because he is the ONLY ONE that can help my kids little heart.
In the meantime I pray for all the children that are born in Christianity so that they truly experience the Lord in their life.
God bless you beautiful sister. Continue creating content, and shine ✨ with light of Christ ✨

I am reading through the bible in a year. This year, I am doing The Bible Recap plan, which is chronological. In 2021 & 2022, I used the historic M'Cheyne schedule, which has you read in 4 different books per day. I have read through several different study bibles. Sometimes, I have just taken the # of pages and divided it by 365, and read that many pages per day. I liked The One Year Bible's reading plan, which has OT, NT, Psalms and Proverbs every day. I am starting to take notes in notebooks on each chapter and put them in binders, with divider tabs for each book of the bible. That way, I can look at my notes, no matter which of my many bibles I happen to be reading. It amazes me, even though I have read through the bible 7 or more times, I still encounter passages that seem new to me. I am currently reading an ESV Fire Bible. The footnotes are excellent. Keep a commentary handy or use an on-line commentary.

That's amazing I have yet to read through the bible. I love to read the word but always struggled sticking with a plan.

My husband and I have 27 paper Bibles and 10 Bible apps. I have just finished reading through the Bible (NIV) looking for all the “Do not be afraid” phrases. I have found almost 200. I heard there were 365. Next I compare with the Concordance and a couple of Topical Bibles to make sure I get them all. I am now reading through the gospels to find all the “Truly I tell you” phrases. I don’t know what them mean so I want the find out how many are there and then check with different commentaries on all the scriptures that I find. This is so much fun, I feel like Sherlock Holmes digging through a mystery.

I LOVE this concept! I am returning to the Word after a long, unfortunate hiatus of battling mind and body after I spent a few years in Seminary. I have been looking for different study methods that appeal to me presently because my previous methods just haven't ignited the spark they once did, and haven't found a plan that really speaks to me. This concept you mention, of finding the phrases, that has been the first time I ever heard of such a thing. Thank you so much for sharing that because I probably wouldn't have thought of that!

Been reading a chapter a day... Just to start with. It's what I'm calling baseline. If I don't feel like doing anything I have to read a chapter. Because honestly, barring a few chapters here and there... That's only like 1/2 a page- 3 pages. It's not much.
I don't often understand the implications of what I'm reading. I plan to build the habit to include legit studies... Like, who's that guy... Why is this thing important... What are those things (like, develop questions about chapter/s)... And include researching bunny trails. One thing I've wanted to do it make a family tree of the lines to Jesus from other important figures and learn their names (because those names... What the heck) and some things about the important ones...
Anyway. What I was gonna say was it's amazing how much reading the Bible improves your mood and outlook even when nothing jumps out at you or you don't do very much with it... It somehow still affects you! Very powerful!

Great Video, I agree the Bible is fun to read, I have so many different translations and I love them all and I agree read the chapter you really like first then go on but I like Genesis to it's great it's all about the creation and I really like the Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelations, it's harder but it just takes more time to understand since the Book of Revelations it a symbolic reading and of course I love all the Gospels, actually the whole Bible is great. And I also agree with getting things to go with your Bible Study like pens, highlighters, stickers and washy tape it gives you a excitement to reading or studying the Bible. Take Care and God Bless.

NKJV, KJV, ESV, NASB, are what I consider my daily drivers. I have added CSB, the Legacy Standard Bible, and the 1984 NIV over the past couple of years because a couple of Bible reviewers I respect and trust had recommended them for various reasons. I now have almost replaced most of my older Bibles with new ones because I now need LARGE PRINT! However, I am an obsessive compulsive note taker and highlighter, so I am taking some time transferring my notes from the old Bibles to the new. I love, love, love my Bibles and would never give them up. I feel such peace and joy when I can connect to God and Christ through the pages of His most holy Word.

When I became a Christian at 20 years old I had never read the Bible or gone to church, but one day I woke up with that message in my heart and I went to the nearest Walmart and bought a plain ol NIV large print, I spent years in there. During that time I went to University (later than my classmates because I took 2 years off before) and I went for religion, seminary.. they taught us mostly using NIV, especially when we were learning applications/how to write sermons. For the theological studies (going in depth to Christian studies at a very analytical, all the way back to the first church, meanings of hebrew words ect) we used a Bible called Harper Collins NRSV. This is an amazing study bible for anyone who is more studious in nature, because its a commentary, glossery, concordance, reference all in one, without taking away from the main scripture (some reference bibles i have had, have so much footnotes and annotations, its literally hard for me to read or study the actual scripture and it gets muddled with references). This study bible also contains the Archival/Canonical called the Apocrypha. The Apocypha, as a brand new Christian of only about 2 years already going to preacher school, was insane for me when i learned it was a thing. For anyone who has ever been curious about those type of biblical books that ancient Catholicism sometimes mentions, or anyone who is just curious about pre-biblical things (archangels, the missing scrolls, extra "behind -the-scenes" stories of the Prophets, and even "bonus" stories about the enemy, Harper Collins NRSV is for you! I was actually so into the Harper Collins and it was a requirement for university of course, i purchased a second copy for my own personal study.

I began in 2017 with a one year reading plan - a Bible study I was in suggested the One Year Bible in NLT and I struggled through. next year a different plan and translation and I found it easier as I already had the habit. I've pretty much used a differnt translation each year and a different plan though this year I'm back with one year plan but the past 4 years and now this year I've read along with another person on youversion and sometimes others have joined us and we discuss together and encourage each other. NLT is awesome for reading though

About a translation you understand. My grandmother was 90 years old when a new Bible translation was published in the Netherlands in 2004. (I am Dutch). And even though she has read the Bible all her life, the new translation made things clear. And so it should be, you must understand what you read.

An easier to understand Bible definitely makes it more likely for a person to stick with it. But you should be careful that the MEANING (hermeneutics) is not altered or confused. It’s actually a good idea to double check different versions and use a Bible Knowledge Commentary. Bible commentaries are great with (for example) the culture at the time a certain scripture was written, which in turn will help with the understanding of the meaning. I personally like the Bible Knowledge Commentary by John F. Walvoord. It’s a good one (actually two: Old and New Testaments)and not too expensive. 👍💕

Ok so I get why People Turn to different Translations of the Bible But there are Tools out there to Help you Understand what you are Reading Also Always Pray Before Reading your Bible Ask the Lord for Wisdom,Strength,Understanding Cause Some of these Translations are NOT Teaching People The Truth in God's Word
