Nice to see that someone else realises contentment is the key, and it comes from being grateful. The only thing that makes us different is the strength or weakness of only twenty (ish) emotions, peace and understanding comes from strength freedom can only come from forgiveness. Everyone answers hide in the search for the opposite point of view. Keep up the good work, they just need tto want to hear.

I'm forced to read the bible at times each year, otherwise over a period of months I end up getting sick with high blood sugar and over eating and not training my body. I like the Tyndale books although I might be able to also get results from Zondervan but I know that they do not work the same. Tyndale Commentaries are also really good. They mostly only use the NLT translation but actually I don't care, although scholar's probably don't want the NLT. I just read it for the energies for my body and healing.

I'm really locked into christian/worship music. I always Have to radio tuned into a christian station in the car and whenever I drive. I used to listen so much secular music as personal, But I choose to listen to worship music as personal. The problem with secular music is that The lyrics are nasty and dirty, such as explicit.

It's just a matter of perception, I agree about your point on "mainstream pop music" at 2:54 - 3:03 an on the fact that worship music can "fill the room", but not everything, like for example most Christian rap is just rap with Christian lyrics, or Hillsong Young And Free is just Image Dragons with Christian lyrics. I would say that I had a bit opposite experience as yours, I've been 10 years active in various pentecostal churches and for three years (2016 - 2018 ) I hadn't gone to a concert. After I restarted to go to concerts in 2019 I felt really liberated after experiencing all that gaslighting. And by the way I am a busker Not all the secular music is empty as all those radio (s)hits.

Being a Mexican American Catholic and someone who did not practice, I bought the Great Adventure Catholic Bible, which comes with the Bible in a Year Podcast. I am enjoying it (I think God slowly showed himself in my algorithm with women doing highlight bible journaling, and then I started to look at how to start out). Still, I want to branch out to other Bibles that can help me dive more deeply, like making a prayer bible (as I see others have) and looking into other translations. These Bibles you mentioned have been coming into my view more, so thank you for this! I'm also a new subscriber.

An easier to understand Bible definitely makes it more likely for a person to stick with it. But you should be careful that the MEANING (hermeneutics) is not altered or confused. It’s actually a good idea to double check different versions and use a Bible Knowledge Commentary. Bible commentaries are great with (for example) the culture at the time a certain scripture was written, which in turn will help with the understanding of the meaning. I personally like the Bible Knowledge Commentary by John F. Walvoord. It’s a good one (actually two: Old and New Testaments)and not too expensive. 👍💕
