I think that if we'd never gotten TS 4 and there hadn't been any more Top Spin games until 2K25 we'd be saying all the stuff we said back in the day about TS 4, the problem is 2K25 is too similar to TS 4, but I hope they change some animations and ball physics for it to feel more unique

I was expecting it to have cutscenes like press conferences (be also able to answer questions), maybe a story like nba 2k has, to be able to play more than one tournament per month, a ranking with at least 1000 players (and not to begin being the number 80), sponsors… I wish the will invest time on it in the next top spin, and of course in many more details

I haven't played TS 3- 2k25 yet, but having played TS 1+2 (2004, 2006) on PC and TS 1 (2005, PS2), I'd say that TS 1 (2004, PC) looks and feels much much better than TS 2 (2006, PC), has much more details like footprints on sand courts, nicer hair and player animations and plays more fluid. I only played TS 1+2 on PC and TS1 on PS2 emulated (3x res, approx. FullHD). - best version I've played so far: TS 1 (2004, PC) gave me native 1920x1080 res w/o using external tools and is just perfect, it could be a brand new game, tbh. - 2nd best version: TS 1 (2005, PS2) played via PCSX2, 3x res (approx. FullHD) looks good, almost as good as the PC version, lacks some details compared to the PC version, still is much much better than TS 2 on PC. - aweful crappy version: TS 2 (2006, PC) is like a cheap hastily made unready product, can't select high res nor widescreen in menu, dgVoodoo2 for high res DX wrapper doesn't work, game is locked to 4:3 internally. When players slide in TS 2 (PC version and also viewable in this video), it looks like they slide on ice and not hitting the ground, leaving no tracks on sand courts. This looked much better on TS 1 on PC and TS 1 on PS2. When seeing this video, I think TS 1+3+4 are better than TS 2, f.e. In 2k25 I think some faces look odd. I also prefer Kournakova's ponytail hair in TS 1 2003 XBox and 2004 PC version over the TS 1 PS2 and TS 2 PC version. It's like a showcase of the physics engine of the 1st version, which is just perfect IMHO. Seems to be that the XBox and PC version of TS 1 have that ponytail, the PS2 version doesn't. TS4 is the best gameplay-wise, but TS2 has a special place in my heart : atmosphere was great, and the venues were superb, with lots of variety.
