  • Many of us suffer with anxiety and racing thoughts. When our thoughts race, our hearts also begin to speed up. Often these symptoms are accompanied by quick and shallow breathing. In order to slow our minds and slow our bodies we must focus upon our breath. Deep diaphragmatic breathing has been used by countless individuals for thousands of years to improve their mental and physical well-being. Ancient Indian society termed it yogic breathing, while taoist culture referred to it as crane breathing. By focusing our attention on deep belly breathing, and taking our attention from our cerebral brains, we can slow our racing thoughts and hearts, and lengthen and enhance our lives. Ancient techniques that have been utilized safely for thousands of years, can still provide tremendous benefit in our modern lives.
