It’s a New Year and a new bit of Kirby knowledge to start it off. A great tip to know about, especially since more & more vacuum repair shops are closing down. This is the only channel you’ll ever need to maintaining your Kirby vacuum. Thanks KE.
Thank you for this video! I discovered that my toddler thought it was a piggy bank.... With the coins removed everything is working perfectly! Thank you a ton
We still have the Kirby my parents bought in the late 70s, still works great. I remember watching the salesman show all the attachments it was the coolest thing at the time.
That’s awesome, I still remember my moms demo when they bought the Heritage 2 . I was like wow , I’m never going to buy anything but a Kirby . My mom still uses her Kirby H2 even now and her carpets look as new as they did back in 1987. My G4 I bought in 1994 and still runs a dream . Thanks for supporting my channel really appreciated 👍👍
@@KirbyEnthusiast They are a great vacuums. I remember as a kid fir some reason i loved reaching into the pocket on the bag and scraping out the dirt. LOL
That’s so funny, are used to love doing that as well I remember laying newspaper on the floor underneath it to catch all of the stuff. Mine actually needs to be cleaned out now I can’t wait to Reachin find that scraper and clean the insides of the bag lol

Hello, all you videos are super helpful. How can I get in touch with you. I have a kirby Sentria and the re is a clicking noise when I move it fwd. It moves when in neutral and it doesnt move at all when in drive.
I have contact details on my channel or Facebook page link on my channel page . I have a video on how to stop the clicking noise it’s the drive pedal easy to repair .here is link to video th-cam.com/video/e0zmebequTc/w-d-xo.html
I fixed the shop Kirby switch. Now, it doesn't have the forward gear. Neutral, and reverse only. If it was me, I'd leave it in neutral. But, the boss has other ideas. What did I do wrong?
How fierce does the clutch have to be when the wheels touch the carpet/surface? Should you be able to stop it at all both forward and reverse? or does pressure actually stop it when it touches the surface?
@@KirbyEnthusiast okay what about putting sound proofing material under were the motor set? I am thinking about buying one to use upstairs in me and my brothers rooms.
Hey Dean, im love Your Channel. Mij kirby avalir 1 wen im turn iT of the wheels kliks, i need to push the tech drive of again. Kan you help ? Greeds Wim

I am a Kirby Enthusiast myself and have used Kirby's since Heritage 2. I currently own the Avalir 100th ed model and am trying to figure out why when using on carpet the transmission/tech drive seems to slip and make a clicking sound every once in awhile. I have even changed out the transmission with one from a Sentria and have the same result. When pushing the vacuum in neutral the transmission is silent so the cam assembly is working correctly. Like I said it happens every once in a while an audible click and I can feel like the transmission misses or slips. Is this normal? Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Same for me in 1970 with my folks classic. The salesman said it could do almost anything. I too loved scraping out the bag (then) not now. LOL

Thanks Dean! Really educational!
Your welcome buddy , thanks for support 👍👍
Had to do this 1 1/2 years after getting the avalir 2, it wasn't particularly bad, but I figured I could give it a cleaning while I was inside it
Thanks for this video, if a g5 has same issue what bolt do you adjust to return reverse. Many thanks, Pat
It’s the same part. G5 has a 2 fork like connection make sure the correct side of the fork is connected.

I imagine the same is true if it won't go in forward. Just adjust screws out quarter turn each?
Can be also depends on the roller bearing setup 👍👍
What is cast aluminum? Is it aluminum that's over medal? What are kirbys made of?
Kirbys are made of aluminium, cast aluminium just mean the term it was put in a mould and cast to the shape .
Hope this helps 👍👍

I demoed this in a follow up video we’re I adjusted tech drive bias on an avalir 100th that would reverse
So its just your thumb pressure forward and back.
@@tweetypie25 yep
My clutch is way overactive I can’t stop it with my thumb. Should I tighten or loosen the bolts?
Is there a way to make Kirby Heritage II quieter
I found the newer Hepa bag make it a little quieter but not much
