Yeh it’s a common problem that kirby could address. Seems like making cheaper parts caused this issue. When I see a g4 or g3 going cheap or free I get them for parts the main one being the drive neutral switch. 👍👍
@@KirbyEnthusiast Thanks for all you do. I've been rehabbing old Kirbys and giving them to friends and family....keeps me off the streets and out of the bars. 😁
I've had my Avalir 2 for a bit over a year, and it's clicking. Not happy, considering how much I use it. Just to heavy to carry up and down 4 separate staircases.
Great video I'm having a problem with my kirby it's a ULTIMATE G and getting a bad burn smell tried the normal spots like the bush belt and brush it self from what I know it could be the motor belt near the drive Please Any ideas or where to get that belt Thanks very much
Is the green belt light flickering when using it . If so the belt is worn and slipping. Tech drive belt are only small and toothed so you would really get a burning smell from that . It can catch if it’s been worked on and internal light wire has not been cable tied back to chassis correctly. You see this by just removing top cover . Though from experience burning smell is morally belt or shaft . If it’s not a rubber burning smell it could be a siezed brush on the armeture. 👍🔔
If you’ve serviced the Kirby yourself… you may have put in wrong belt size for the transmission. It happened to me. I have an early diamond edition and I put a belt on for the late diamond onward (means diamond editions made after 05.) and it started smoking. Hopefully that helped.
@joefuzz6385 I've never served it to be honest only had it looked at a few times over the years How do I find out which model or year Thanks very much for the help

Fantastic information from the most informative sources out there on KIRBY products. Well done.
Thanks Dean for this video. It’s a good summary of issues of generations Kirby’s. Only thing happened to me was a bulb broke on the G4
Great analysis Dean. Love 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it. How very true!!!
Thanks buddy , really appreciate great comment and continued support of my channels 👍👍
I bought a nearly new Avalir I at a garage sale, the tech drive was already clicking. I replaced it myself.
