  • In this video we look at designing your own NFC antenna.
Just recently I was tasked with designing an NFC antenna for a project, the current design we had just did not match what I had in mind, so I decided to make my own and try it out!
This video covers the design process that I went through and so you can hopefully design your own too!

I've been a little intimidated about figuring out this part of my circuit, and your video helped a ton. Even just your tip about the free tools to design my antenna and impedance matching circuitry. Thanks soooo much!

Hi, Very informative tutorial. Could you please make a video on this chip, PN532, and how to design its antenna?

hey great content! This antenna can be use for wireless charging? thank you in advance!

I have seen some cases with the use case of NFC charging, for example I believe ST do a range of chips. I would believe if it was that specific you could use this for wireless charging if its NFC.
In case of QI charging, it would require something different. You can get a lot of off the shelf antennas so it might be worth looking into if you need something for your project.

Does this increase the scannable range for NFC Chips?

If you mean will designing the appropriate antenna will you get further range for what NFC allows? Then yes.

can i attach an antenna tht i bought online to my 13.56 mhz reader? if so, which antennas would be compatible with which models of 13.56 mhz readers?

You'll be able to use an external antenna as long as its for 13.56mhz

@@WinterCircuits do you know approx how far the 13.56 mhz nfc reader would be able to reach with an antenna?
