Additional TIP´s RESIZE holding the SHIFT KEY so the imagen don´t lost the dimension. Rotate the IMAGEN 180º so you can view correctly at the bottom (mirror effect) Thankx
Steve, What about the copyright of the owner who created the falcon drawing used in this video? You can't simply download copyrighted material and use it on your 3D printed item?
LizM So True! I'm usually better about using Creative Commons. Thanks for calling me on it. I'll work on a replacement for this video which uses a Creative Commons image search.
Very nice *Steve this tool of .SVG import seems to be the portal to the render of the *riverhead. In doing so the challenge that I currently face are that the objects that I am converting (international letters) which are starting out solid and filled in; are becoming outline and hollow. It's this hollowness that not only looks spectacular when rendered but is quite messy when 3-D printed as the monofilament builds up within. Therefore the job requires delicate chipping away of that placenta fill. So perhaps I'll pray upon this TH-cam stream and the solution may come to me. Perhaps answers lie in the conversion itself.
Tip: Hold down shift while resizing to keep proportions.
Yeah was thinking of that too haha

@Steve, great video; clear vocal, good flowing instructions. Hope to try turning 2D images into 3D objects in Tinkercad soon.
Great video, but you can also just take a screen shot of the line art with the snipping tool and it will save it as a jpg.
Awesome mate thanks
Hello Steve, how do I make a line in TinkerCad, 2-D mode? I’m a newbie, and trying to create a mechanical drawing. Thanks.
This is fantastic! Thank you so much. I was lost trying to re-create my company logo for a 3-D print.

YES THANK YOU SO MUCH, I NEEDED THIS!

+LizM oh boo hoo
Great video, learned a fair bit
Many thanks
if I draw a 10mmx100mm rectangle in illustrator will it open as that in Tinkercad ?
Not sure. I've never tried. It should work as long as you output as svg. I have a friend who does this with Inkscape.
Steve Dickie - ok thanks, I'll keep looking .....still can't get it to open at the same scale/size as the original illustrator SVG file 🙁
Awesome tip! Thanks
