    Hey Shane, the Stack Audio SmoothLAN arrived today, wow, just wow, separation, sound stage, inky black silence, ridiculously good, the sort of good when you spend a fortune on a NAIM 555PS DR onto the NDX-2, next time your speaking with Josh organise one to test

    Thanks Shane for your take on the Stack Audio components - nice work!.
    Based upon your findings, I will be putting a set under each of my components in the near future.
    I believe that when you put the Iso Acoustics under your speakers you had a "wow" moment (as did I when I put Iso Acoustics under our old speakers). Because the Iso Acoustics are already a very good isolation product, possibly when you swap in the Stack Isolators under the Wilsons, there may not be the same huge difference that you noticed with the component isolators?
    However on price alone, I will be looking at the Stack isolators for our new speakers (to go with the component isolators which we will be ordering).

    A great video. Its always difficult to listen through TH-cam so I've order a set of AUVA CSA 2's to go under my preamplifier these should arrive this week I'll get them fitted and have a listen and confirm back.

    Hi Shane, I really enjoyed this shoutout.
    To be honest, I didn’t get it right on the third video presentation…I think playback smearing on some type of music can veil in a “positive” way what can be perceived sometimes otherwise as “fatiguing “ audio details. But I can live with that. The TH-cam factor could also be at play here to….
    Regarding your analysis of the effect, I am 100% behind you. Your explanation of the interaction of the electronics with the rack and what you are perceiving in your room is exactly what I am experimenting in my own audio setup with my diy version of the isolation pucks.
    To all audiophiles listening, I cannot emphasize enough the importance and the positive effect of decoupling your electronics… it’s is a revelation for me!
    I totally understand Shane on is decision of decoupling every single of his components.
    Bravo Shane, continue ton bon travail!

      Thank you, Francois. I couldn't agree more with your comments here.
      It really is like getting your room right acoustically. These are two things a lot of serious audiophile's overlook and get caught up on the equipment merry-go-round but when you get your isolation correct and your Roma Acoustics right as I've done for many friends of mine they fall in love with their hi-fi system again. They then stop spending huge amounts of money on the next upgrade for sometimes no improvement at all.
      Keep going with your DIY project. I'm interested in how that turns out.👍🎧🙂

      I will let you know when totally satisfied with the integration and a better understanding of the effect of the different material involved in these diy decouplers. Getting close now. I tried about 6 different config; some had substantial effets but lacked a bit of linearity. But with my latest attempt (with my tube preamp) I might of nailed it. It could be though that every component has its own specific resonance frequencies which would imply adjusting my recipe accordingly for each one of them.

    Many thanks for doing this comparison. Very interesting and well worth doing. I also heard an increase in microdynamics which was very welcome. However, through my headphones (Shure) and for my personal tastes, I also heard increased brightness which I did not like and would need to address through different cables, for example. System balancing I guess. This could just be TH-cam compression but I am not sure. Overall very interesting indeed.

    • @shanestephenson8423
      @shanestephenson8423  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there, it's well and truly worthwhile having a listen to them for yourself.
      I always say that about everything that I review because it's 30 to 40% better in my room than what you can hear through TH-cam.
      They never made the equipment sound bright or analytical in any way. They just made the presentation come to life. Removing a slight smearing that was there when they were not under the equipment.
      That is easy to confuse with brightness, but that was not the case.👍🎧

    • @francois3684
      @francois3684 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would also add that it’s more revealing of the quality of the recording in regard to the type of music. What I mean exactly is that because there is less smearing, it will more accurately playback the edges of the transients across the audible bandwidth resulting in what could be perceived as “edge” high frequencies on some type of music. I guess it’s a small price to pay for getting a ‘closer to the real thing’ presentation of our entire music catalog.

    Shane, Thanks for the assessment here! Question: Curious how you think the beneficial effect of these isolators compares to the beneficial effect of power cords on the same source equipment (in this case, the Dream stack)? Which does more for the sound if you were to have to say (I know it’s not an either/or)?

    • @shanestephenson8423

    Actually, when I listened to the first versions of the second and third tracks, it seemed to me that there were much more details than necessary. I mean, these details caught my attention so much that I lost my concentration on listening to the song and started listening to the details. Honestly, I think this would be my biggest hesitation in purchasing this product.

    • @shanestephenson8423
      @shanestephenson8423  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      All I can say is please audition them somewhere you've got to hear them in person. Please don't judge these products after hearing them on TH-cam. As good as I'm trying to make these recordings when I listen in the room compared to listening to the video, even with my stax headphones, it's just not close.
      Yes, you can hear some of the nuance that I'm hearing in the room, and people are noticing that, but live music or well-recorded music should sound alive!!! It should be popping out in front of you if that's what the artist and engineer have engineered for. Micro detail is the essence of a good Hi-Fi system.👍🙂🎧

    I’ll take a listen to your videos showcasing tracks with and without the Stack Audio gear pucks. I’m wondering whether one needs to shake these pucks before every listening session to re-equilibrate the IP particles contained therein. I agree that uncoupling one’s audio room vibrational noise mayhem from the gear is undoubtedly important as the MAJOR contributor to the enhanced audio experience you’ve achieved. Yet, I believe that draining the subtle microphonic vibrational noise from within the gear itself is required for the ultimate degree of resolution of your system.

    • @shanestephenson8423
      @shanestephenson8423  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Drago, Yes, I agree in essentially what you're saying. The thing with the stack audio footers is they drain the resonant frequency that all equipment has into the top of the puck, and dissipate it while also isolating it from what the component is sitting on. That's the secret sauce here as far as I understand it. So essentially, you're getting the best of both worlds.
      Also once the IP in the puck has settled it doesn't need to continually be shaken up every time you listen. It's just a one-off thing I just did it a bit more often to make sure I really had them settled in.👍🎧🙂

    • @chrissingleton7801
      @chrissingleton7801 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      They need to settle in for a few hours, how they work using particle impact dampening, this converts the vibration into heat through inelastic collisions of the particles in the enclosure, it’s been used in rocket motors, basically a bunch of high precision industries for years it just took a company like Stack come up with a particle that works for audio and they’ve nailed it, you won’t be disappointed I’ve got 8 sets under everything and they rock

    Hi,
    I just came across this video, the first I’ve seen of yours
    Just recently I’ve started looking out for reviews of isolation devices, for my speakers and several electronic devices
    I started watching, but .. because I haven’t seen the previous video/ videos on this, when you started going through your impressions findings at ~ 0:40 referring to footers-
    I don’t know which isolation device on which type/ equipment you are referring to, I’m guessing floorstanders. Also don’t know what the floor/ shelf is
    For me - and anyone else who happens along and is new to the party - could you eg pin the basic information as a comment at the top of the comments?
    Much appreciated

    Can I ask when the footers are loaded with the component how much of the rubber foot is still showing or how close does the bottom of the aluminium casing come to the top of the rack?

    • @user-hb3go2cc9m
      @user-hb3go2cc9m 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello Matthew. If you Google the Stack Audio website and go to the AUVA component description, you should be able to get all of the information which you require. I believe that the height of the AUVA components is 28mm.
      Josh at Stack Audio (who Shane mentioned in his video) is brilliant at responding to product inquiries.

    • @shanestephenson8423
      @shanestephenson8423  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi Matthew, the rubber internal foot is also threaded so it can be turned out so that a little more of it is showing inside the aluminium outer housing of the footer. This allows you to level your component up. I think screwed all the way in it's around 2mm.👍
      But I agree with Paul's comment here as well jump on the website. I've left a link in the description of the video and have a look. If you have any questions, reach out to Josh he is excellent and extremely passionate about their products.
