A problem is the floor not having a way up while retracted, so you need it to retract with a staircase left to access the rest of the room. All I can imagine for this specific room is a spiral staircase within. As much as I miss hermitcraft and seeing mumbo interact with other hermits i can speak for all of us when I say we prefer a happy mumbo with his own desired content :)
So I decided to do the math Double chests count as 2 80 chests on bottom 160 in the first 2 walls 48 in the other 2 wall 40 on the roof For a grand total of… 328 chests! …Or is it? There are 3 chests inside the room, which are not very hidden but I will add to the counter for a total of 331 chests. In one room. That’s a lot
I can't thank you enough for the redstone knowledge and ideas. As a Bedrock player I can't use flying machine doors but still was able to make a flat 7x7 piston door. I build things that I just 3 years ago didn't think possible, and I just have to say it's because of you. Your videos are perfect!
@@Mateo-zi8ub But sticky pistons don't spit blocks when a 1 tick pulse is input. A Bedrock flying machine needs a normal piston or the 2 halves will repeat in both directions randomly. Then you can't make it a 2 way door. So it opens OR closes. Not both. And that is why I like Java, but my PS3 is way back in 1.13.
@@Human..Being... You need two pairs of sticky-normal pistons, with two observers powering them. Wen you want to go in one direction, the observers must power one normal and one sticky piston. When moving the observers, you need to move them in the correct order so the machine does not break.

I would love to see one more episode of this, except not limited by how realistic it can be, just sheer mess of redstone machines, immersive portals and other tricks just to house milions of chests

I think you could put another double chest, behind every chest you placed, so you could access them by clicking in between chests, effectively doubling the current amount of chests. Try saying chests 30 times in 10 seconds.
Just a quick question: How hidden is it exactly from the outside? That might just be a little something to think about if your inviting guests into your home. Oh yeah. One other thing. Where's the entrance?
I could see myself making this many hidden chests in a room. Only to ever use only one chest, and that one chest just has random junk items in it. Or maybe like villager heads. Only so it messes with people when they stumble upon the hidden chests. :3
The real question is how many Minecraft videos can Mumbo make before returning to his bread and butter Minecraft videos... Hermitcraft. It's ok Mumbo. You do your thing. I'm still here for it.
1: you still need to be able to get in and out. 2: you also then have to hide the outside, they ain't exactly hidden if you've got suspiciously bulky walks around it, or no walls around it for that matter. I wanna see this challenge again, but you have to have build an outside, and the outside wall has to be no bigger than 3 blocks wide, maybe stretch to 4 if you can work it decoratively. Edit: also, have separate reveal or access methods, that way if someone were to stumble upon one way to access your chests they wouldn't have access to all of them.
Regarding Field of View. I always had it at 70 (normal), but when I went end-busting on my new playthrough, I decided to go Quake Pro to be able to spot end cities better. After a few hours of end-busting I got back to the overworld, and set the FOV back to 70 and it was just too weird. SOOO zoomed in. Long story short, I am now playing on FOV 100. Please send help
Haha similar story here. Played on normal for the longest time, but after playing on quake pro for end busting, I switched to 80. After another end busting session, 80 was too zoomed in and now I'm at 95
I wonder if you could do something similar to this but include an auto sorter or some sort of sorting for the chests. Also maybe an entrance to the room could be nice lol. Unless of course you were going for the locked room chest mystery vibe
I think the best thing is that in most if not all of the places it doesn't have to be chests like you could have a secret armory or like diamond blocks or something this could be SUCH a cool addition to a build.

The few amount of chests that are shown without the secret chests makes the secret chests more secret as any person who goes in and sees that this person doesn’t like chests much thinks that they won’t be hiding any chests. ITS GENIUS!
I love the drop down floor design for hiding chests, 100% using that in the future
A problem is the floor not having a way up while retracted, so you need it to retract with a staircase left to access the rest of the room. All I can imagine for this specific room is a spiral staircase within. Now I really want to see a hidden spiral staircase and am tempted to make one myself because while I'm not big on redstone since I mainly play bedrock edition, it is still really cool to mess around with.
i think you can still throw the paper and reach the fence post from the bottom of it
@@polar8682 not sure, but you can also just put it in the hopper directly. You can see it in between the chests
Well the other problem is you can’t get into the room
@@andrewbianchi6914 just take a wall off and you're good
You are ruining everything with your practical thoughts. The room doesn't even have a door!
As much as I miss hermitcraft and seeing mumbo interact with other hermits i can speak for all of us when I say we prefer a happy mumbo with his own desired content :)
Agreed
He’s still the richest hermit tho 🤷♂️
I hope you build this on a server at some point. I like the idea of having two 'modes' of a base.
So I decided to do the math
Double chests count as 2
80 chests on bottom
160 in the first 2 walls
48 in the other 2 wall
40 on the roof
For a grand total of…
328 chests!
…Or is it?
There are 3 chests inside the room, which are not very hidden but I will add to the counter for a total of
331 chests.
You can make a flying machine in BE. I once made an elevator in Pocket Edition.
When you want to change direction, you need to move the observers so the one that was powering the normal piston is now powering the siticky one and vice-versa.
When moving the observers, you need to move them in the correct order so the machine does not break.

I do! Motion sickness from Minecraft absolutely sucks, and I've found that reduced screen effects (Nausea, Darkness Pulsing, Larger FOV, View Bobbing, etc.) Really helps with that!
I have 2 questions:
1) Why someone would want to hide that much stuff ?
2Where is the door ?
2) in one of the chests
@Don't Read Profile Picture ok I wont
How do you get out of the hole in the floor
@@catkid3456 that’s another good question
"Drake where's the doorhole" meme here
"Who needs to hide this much stuff" everyone who plays with Grian, that's who
For this to actually serve a purpose. You need stairs to come out so you can go back up and access the other chests.
Watching you make stuff with redstone really makes me want to play again. My mind is full of ideas now
I'm sure no one will question the redstone monstrosity on the OUTSIDE of the room...
Ignore that.
Remember when we had to use trapped chests to put chests by each other? Modern Minecraft is so nice.
For those curious, there are 316 chests. Or 158 double chests.
Wall = 3x5 area of chests (+2 walls, 2x5) = (2x5x2)+(3x5) = 35 x 2 (because there's two of these) = 70
Wall = 2x5 area of chests (+2 walls, 2x1) = (2x1x2) + (2x5) = 14 x 2 = 28
Ceiling = 5x1 area of chests = 5x1 = 5 x 4 = 20
Floor = 5x2 area of chests = 5x2 = 10 x 4 = 40
70 + 28 + 20 + 40 = 158
158 x 2 (because we've been counting double chests as single chests) = 316

"I'm a victim of my own success"
-- Mumbo Jumbo
0:42 I kinda wanna keep this slightly within the realms of reality... **proceeds to make a machine that flies by literally pulling itself across the sky**
I think he meant Minecraft reality lol. Like something that you realistically make in a survival world without being one of those crazy dedicated Hardcore Mode TH-camrs who basically treat beating the Ender Dragon for the first time as the end of a brief tutorial
@@N_IRL Yeah Ik. I was just joking.
@@plumper303 Oh okay lol
tip for anyone who doesn't want to do redstone but wants to make a hidden chest for storage - barrels with ladders on them & dark oak planks with ladders on them blend together really well
Some guy: "you don't have any storage"
Mumbo Jumbo: * *FLICKS LEVER* *
I love these videos you've been dropping lately. They're quirky, fun, and a great exploration of tech minecraft. So happy to see our favorite redstoner Mumbo back in action!
Not really tech Minecraft at all lol but yes they are fun
@@shadowscythes looks pretty tech-y to me
@@Jojo.F87 You should see real technical Minecraft then lol, this is incredibly basic stuff compared to many things out there. Look up ilmango, or SciCraft, that'll give you a bit of a taste of what technical Minecraft is like. Mumbo is entertaining but what he does is too amateur to be considered proper tmc.
@@shadowscythes My dude just because it's "simpler" doesn't mean it is not a part of tech minecraft. I do watch both of those channels already. It is simply a compliment to mumbo, idk why everyone always wants to argue over the smallest things.
This has made my day 1000% better, thanks mumbo jumbo!!
To be honest, it's more aesthetically pleasing than my normal chest wall, that uses 2 double chests deep (long ways) and a barrel in behind those. (I use fences to align myself between the chests so that I can reach the back rows.)
Chests > barrels.
Why? They're the OG storage device.
Well, that's one way to keep Grian from having items "Lag" into his inventory from your storage.
Finally I can hide all of my precious dirt!
This was so cool to watch come together, and it was so satisfying to watch it work!
I feel like this is how chests work internally to fit so much stuff
I accept this idea
It is EXACTLY these kinds of ridiculous videos that got me into Minecraft for the first time years and years ago. Good to see you enjoying yourself again Mumbo! Keep it comin!
I would like to argue that not a single chest was hidden in that room, they were all a block or two outside of it
I can tell by just the name of the video that mumbo will be so excited to do this. Absolutely love it. Mumbo is back and better than ever!
The Moment you realize that he actually managed to hide the room inside the chests... as none will find the room with no entrance/exit before the chests
le gasp!
7:19 Ones you enter Quake Pro there is no return. Years ago turned it on for a meme but got stuck with it ever since.
Ikr its like you have the power to see 25% more, and want to trade your temporary comfort for eternal vision
Yeap
That happened to me
Video idea: how many secret activation devices can I hide in this room. Not necessarily useful things, just secret ones.
Eventually the room will look ridiculous because of all the hidden things that open or get pulled out.
Also it would be really cool
I would love to see one more episode of this, except not limited by how realistic it can be, just sheer mess of redstone machines, immersive portals and other tricks just to house milions of chests
Should do full tutorials on some of these builds as some may understand what's going on but can't replicate what you've done
This video has inspired me to play Minecraft again, I’ve always loved to have secret entrances for things etc, and honestly even just the floor at the start reminded me of how much I really loved Minecraft. Thanks x
So cool! I have no idea how to make any of this stuff, but you are very talented. I also have a suggestion: can you make a house that can disassemble and rebuild itself? Or maybe a giant arcade that uses pressure plates?
Keep up the good work!
Love it when Mumbo says “i have hooked it up to this lever”, then flicks lever and nothing happens! 😂
The videos have been amazing as of late. They are calming yet chaotic at the same time, and Im here for it lol
I love this.
I'd just be happy having that beautiful, seamless, streamlined drop floor as part of my base. Last flying machine elevator I made wasn't so elegant. :)
My favorite part of these types of video are the end where he’s just so happy with the final product that he keeps activating it and deactivating it. You can feel the cheek to cheek smile through the screen and it makes me smile too 😁
"Hmm yes, this carpet would be perfect for hiding a secret chest if you just do some nice engineering n stuff"
"mhm, yeah, thanks for the advice man!" - That one guy whos trying to hide all his chicken eggs cause he is infact not the man in the chicken suit
All this in order to prepare for Grian not taking your stuff. That is dedication.
I absolutely want this in my base. Maybe not the floor falling out from underneath me, but the wall chests? Definitely
6:37 I was wondering what you were doing with that stack of paper XD
I don't know how someone can keep coming with these creative ideas!
Well he really loves hidden things and vaults so it makes since he would get creative with them remeber that bridge making machine in one of the nether updates
Mumbo has spent too much time outside, he's forgotten about doors
I think you could put another double chest, behind every chest you placed, so you could access them by clicking in between chests, effectively doubling the current amount of chests. Try saying chests 30 times in 10 seconds.
He built the entire room, but forgot that you can't have a room without an exit. He instead created a prison.
hiding chests in a minecraft base gives a feeling of satisfaction like nothing else in the world
look at my banner hector..
3:11 the lever sincs with the music 🤣
Just a quick question: How hidden is it exactly from the outside? That might just be a little something to think about if your inviting guests into your home.
Oh yeah. One other thing. Where's the entrance?
I love how easy Mumbo makes things look. I tried the floor going down one, man I tried for like an hour. IT NEVER WORKS
For anyone talking about how there’s no way in or out, just add a system to remove part of the roof.
I certainly wasn't expecting that many chests, so I was pleasantly surprised.
I could see myself making this many hidden chests in a room. Only to ever use only one chest, and that one chest just has random junk items in it. Or maybe like villager heads. Only so it messes with people when they stumble upon the hidden chests. :3
6:05 Me. I need a lot of stuff. Stuff for decoration. Stuff for cool builds. I'm a hoarder and proud of it.
4:30 Looks like immersive portals!
The real question is how many Minecraft videos can Mumbo make before returning to his bread and butter Minecraft videos... Hermitcraft. It's ok Mumbo. You do your thing. I'm still here for it.
Just what I needed to stash my hoard of items :) very entertaining video Mumbo.
I'm actually on quake pro all the time. I suck at combat, so I gotta know where the mobs are coming from 😅
Haha similar story here.
These latest Mumbo videos give me the weirdest nostalgia
I think the best thing is that in most if not all of the places it doesn't have to be chests like you could have a secret armory or like diamond blocks or something this could be SUCH a cool addition to a build.
Your ideas are so simple yet make for such interesting videos!
