I agree with what they say and I keep saying it to all startups I work with when I write their Investment deck and Pre-REvenue Valuation and Financials, there are just few key elements that have to be in a brief yet fully comprehensive deck that will get the attention of these people. I write them monthly and I enjoy seeing startups growing :-)

Victor Adatsi I think that Africa is going to be the next China in about 10 to 20 Years. VCs will come, the time is when.
VCs look for potential growth of business with strong ideas, team and execution, regardless the ethnicity. You can't just guilt trip people to secure your funding just because they are X ethnic or something. Though, the AfCFTA deal hopefully can empower growth of African business ecosystem. It's only a matter of time before some locals there come up with genius idea and get noticed by VCs.

How about the idea, how mature should it be? Is an MVP sufficient to get the necessary funding.
Now that this video is at least 5 years old perhaps some others who have viewed this video AND who may have since reached success can give me some information.
I have been working on a business idea since BEFORE this video has come out but for reasons I will not get into here on this platform I have not been able to come up with funding to create the website that I need.
I HAVE TRIED --
All of the easy Do It Your Self web Development Platforms -- NONE WORK for what I need.
I have tried alternative funding such as applying for probably every kind of loan -- To No Avail.
I have contacted various THINK TANKS and CORPORATIONS AND CEO's for some help -- to no avail.
I have contacted Non Profit organizations such as Universities Community Colleges - SCORE - Innovation Connectors and others -- To No Avail
I have applied for and PAID OUT TO ""ANGEL"" INVESTMENT PLATFORMS -- NOTHING.
People I have talked to have copied and stolen my ideas in the past and I have re-arranged and re-created new ideas.
I have contacted local and state wide web developers to try and work out a deal for payment or profit sharing just to get my web site built -- NO TAKERS
My Idea is SIMPLE -- I have done my research - i have created a plan - I have the web WIREFRAMING done - I have world wide connections for marketing in place - I have a world wide NICH Market that can make millions. I did not create the idea and it has been around for a long long time BUT no one is doing it on the internet as I have plans for.
One thing I have learned is YOU CAN NOT TRUST ANYONE OUT THERE -- SO PROTECT YOUR IDEAS
**EVERYTHING IN THIS WORLD TAKES MONEY TO MAKE MONEY**
