Probably. I do know that Jimi filmed Janis Joplin: www.snapgalleries.com/product/jim-marshall-jimi-hendrix-filming-janis-joplin-1968/#iLightbox[]/0

@@JackGitto Woah they've gone up in price a bit. Mind you, if you want quality plus reliability it's got both.

Ok I gave in, and bought one on eBay for a price I was willing to pay. I figured there are people I can send it to repair it if it didn’t work…

      And it works!!

Funny thing was I was extremely skeptical and it truly looked like it went to Woodstock because it was dirty and scuffed and spots and the seller knocked $20 off of it so I took a gamble on it because it was “untested” and I lucked out because everything on it still works! Canon certainly made a durable product that stood the test of time!
EDIT: mine was made the last year of production in 1971. (Had an L Date code) So it didn’t go to Woodstock…

Does the 1014 have the same issue like the 814 electronic?

@@oldradiosnphonographs I just bought a Canon 1014 AZ and did a test shot with a fresh roll of 50D but later found out that the film was not proceeding the whole time and ended up not being exposed at all (the motor works fine tho). The sprocket turned out to be broken. I know some ppl also have encountered this in the past so just wanted to ask if this a common issue for all Canon super 8 cams. Also, if possible, there's any way this could be avoided/fixed? Really appreciate it!

As much as that Canon and Beaulieu are nice looking, when it gets to the prices they want for them on eBay I’d rather spend slightly more for a 16mm. I get shamed for “wasting” or “pissing my money away” by my family when I splurge on something. (Even though it’s my own money and yes I do pay for food and bills) so any Super-8 camera I see beyond about say $300-400 gets me feeling discouraged. It’s not fun being shamed for your hobbies. Or being told “well my phone can do that and it’s free” they just don’t get it.

Ooohhhh that phone comparison is so ridiculous I've stopped arguing with people who straight up miss the point. The thing is no one would bat an eyelid if you spent 300-400 on a DSLR. I was lucky enough to grab a few decent cameras before every hipster in the world drove the prices up.

@@ZeroBudgetFilmSchool I wanted to shoot film as far back as 2006, but I really got interested within the last year when I found out about FPP. I’ve also acquired many people 16mm and 8mm films over the years at various sales and eBay and I thought I would like to do that one day.
