Western Va native. We came out of west virginia. This song tells a true story. Since Meth and Oxy hit in these hollers families have been crushed. Mine included. Poor folk have always struggled but leaned on each other. Nowadays more look to a synthetic escape....but its just a black hole to nowhere swallowing souls

This song resonates so much coming from a small town in east Ky. So much truth in the lyrics and great vocals and musicianship.
Being from the Southside of Chicago, the lyrics pills and poverty don't exactly ring true but when he sings "the jobs moved out... and the drugs moved in" is right on the head. Its wild how they've split us all up, but we are going through the same things. Peace and love ❤

Pills & poverty is exactly what happened here in ths part of Appalachia it's awful then the meth moved in we use to lean on one another n make it thru now everyone is ded or effected by ths in one way or another itll never b the same
