    I've been having a constant problem with jerky, wobbly motion on moving time lapses using the Crane v2. Of course, during the process of shooting, this can't be detected since the Crane pans and tilts so slowly. But once I review the footage, it's quite noticeable. Terrible in some cases. Is there a way to prevent this by calibrating the Crane, or perhaps with a firmware update?

    You can also use this timelapse feature to perfectly make smooth panning shots without holding it in your b roll.

    Thanks for the video.
    1.When you add more than two keyframe for camera motion how app divides the total timelaps time between these frames?
    2. When exposure time is long sins crane is in constant move it creates motionblure and changing the interval in the app seems doesn't have any effect.
    Makes it useless for low light conditions

    General question: I always have to stabilize my moving timelapses in post (using an 80D), because of a little shake. Do you guys do the same or is the time lapse smooth without any post processing?

    Hey man, I am having trouble with motion blur when I have a longer exposure. With no cable it’s almost impossible to set the shutter to open when the gimbal isn’t moving. With the my camera does not allow me to use my internal intervalometer while it’s plug into the crane and the crane app won’t act as an intervalometer either... help!

    The problem is in this way you can't use a low shuttersspeed setting because the camera do not stop at each shot! A low shuttspeed/longexposure is verry important for timelapse if you will generate a motion blur effect or for shooting a nightlapse! In your case you will get the problem that if you film fast moving objects like cars or people the objects will jump in the Clip from one position to the next, if you add long exposure the objects will slide to the next position in each frame that looks mutch more clear!I test this many times with my crane 2 but the function is not working! Looks like zhiyun can not handle that

    • @brunoestrelabessa6507
      @brunoestrelabessa6507 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the crane will be constantly moving, the movement of the crane in a real situation, in a real timelapse, should be VERY VERY slow... The motion blur will be minimal and wont affect the result of the timelapse.. The pictures individually might not be crisp sharp, but the video will look good! ;) But I'm pretty sure that if u set the time interval to the same value that u set for your intervalometer, (and not to 0.5 sec randomly as he did - because it is indeed important to set it correctly) I think the crane will move just after that interval and u will get crisp shots with the motion blur only where it should be.

    Here the ZY Play that I downloaded on Google Play opens different from what you show in the video, you do not have Application Mode to that round icon on the left side next to the review icon, nor the selection icon below the gimbal icon on the side right. Here also does not appear in the menu to select between the camera of the gimbal and the camera of the smartphone. I am using a Zhiyun Crane, with 1.60V firmware, I have the communication cable that controls the Sony A7S II connected. I can program the timelapse as you taught though by not being able to select the A7S II in timelapse, the gimbal makes the only move that the images are made with the smartphone camera. The version of ZY Play is Aug. 14th. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the attention and congratulations to the video.

    Do I need to update the firmware?
    Because I run applications on my mobile phone.
    There is no item on the menu of mobile phone applications I have.
    The Time Labs menu.
    Thank you very much. I'm wondering.

  • @ParallaxEffect

    FYI unfortunately this feature does NOT automatically take photos, even WITH the camera control cable. Stupidly, because the app only supports moving time-lapse in video mode, when you start the time-lapse, it triggers video on the camera, not a photo, at the start -- DOH! Hope ZhiYun fix this abysmal software bug soon. Please note this is on the Sony A6500, and probably is the same bug for all A6XX cameras.

    • @davebeazer

      Yep same here for RX100v. Wish they'd focus on the app as opposed to new hardware. Or a 3rd party app be usable as theirs is a bit 😖

    • @tazztone

      would be amazing if it would take aphoto, then move a bit and hold the position, then trigger a photo, then repeat this. for longer exposures at night it is essential that it stays still while exposing. Zhiyun: please :-)

    Hi, i tried this with my CRANE V2 and ZY PLAY app. I can set 2-3 way-points etc but my major hurdle is that i cant get it to stop and stick to the last way-point for a few secs, the moment it reaches the last way point, there's no WAIT time, it instantly JUMP moves to the default home position. Can anyone plz help if they know how to make it stop at the last position.

    I tried the app for Sony, the sunrise mode, the app used the setting 6' F8 ISO 100 at the beginning, so if I use the Crane for moving time lapse , let's say for one hour maybe, when the camera is going to take the photo during 6 secondes if the Crane is moving the pictures us going to be blur, so how can we do!?

  • @86yd
    @86yd 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great Videos man! Following now. :-) One question about the sony cable (don't find a tutorial or an answer anywhere on the internet). I'd like to shoot moving millkyway timelapses. Without the cable I can't do that, because the crane always moves and the foreground gets blurred. Can I shoot timelapses with longer exposures of a few seconds with that cable? Does the crane then tell the camera when to start a new exposure (interval)? Or do I have to start the timelapse on the crane and at the same time the exposure on the camera itself..?

    • @davebeazer

      It works now but the shooting time that I can chose isn't respected by the crane... The movement from point A to B is much quicker and then the Crane goes back to the first frame to continue to shoot in that first position for the rest of the time... Strange isn't it?
