Hi Valentina, if I make moving timelapses with some waypoints, my Crane V2 stops at each waypoint for some seconds!? That‘s really ugly and this seconds are missing at the end to complete the whole path. So it breaks off prematurely! I‘m using the video-mode and different mobil-devices... it newer arrives the point B no matter what or which setting you choose. which time you choose for example 5 min it only doing %50 of the way in 5 min. why is that ? ver. 1.77. Gimbals are not made for motion time lapse unless everything is moving inside the shot in a madness clip. The minimum angle of rotation is not small enough to get a soft transition like in costly pro gear (tens or hundreds of a degree), that is why it is jerky and can not be repaired in any way. Manufacturers know it but still use it as a tool to sell because most buyers do not understand, do not complain, are amateurs or use the gimbal only for what it is intended to do but...internet accepts anything. Everyday a deers goes out, whoever hunts it, owns it.
this angers and saddens me. i feel like i bought a overhyped beta product that will never work as advertised. like the mode where the phone mounted on the cam is supposed to keep focus on an object and keep it center. nightmare. it keeps hunting and will lose the subject.
Can this be done without the app? Seems like a chore to set up. I own both zhyiyun and feiyutech . All of feiyutech timlapse function is done on the gimbal alot easier. I really like the m2 gimbal by zhiyun i have been trying for days on how to do a timlapse with that thing lol.

At 4:25 you have an extension holding the camera - can you tell me what that is called? I've been looking for something like that and can't find it (although I've been specifically looking for the Crane v2...maybe I should look for just a clamp)

Hi, thank you for your comment - yes absolutely it is possible! Josh from Momentum productions does an excellent job at showing this with a slider and the crane plus (which I also love) - here's his video: th-cam.com/video/41lcF8QcM4k/w-d-xo.html My only suggestion is to pick a motorized slider model that is heavier than your set up with the crane 2, as it'll give the slider and the entire unit more stability and you won't run the risk of anything tipping anything over if your dlsr + lens is really heavy. Try to stay within the load recommendation of 7lbs for crane 2 :) Hope that helps!

I was mainly interested in using the Crane 2 on a motorized gimbal for timelapse of stars etc but also possibly some real estate work as Josh demonstrated in his video you linked me. I wasn't sure how well a full night time lapse would go with a setup like this...
Seems one can't control the zhiyun follow focus when the app is being used in motion follow mode. That's very dissapointing setting way points with focus should be possible.
Could I use this when just recording a normal video? I want to live stream with my usual camcorder. But I won't be in the room, so i just want the camera to pan left stop for maybe 10 minutes and then move right again. Thanks
@@SalawuIbrahim I would assume there is no actual VIDEO recording of time lapse because time lapse recordings generally go for much longer than anyone really has storage for if they were shooting video non-stop and that would take up way too much disc space and many cameras will either have recording time limits and/or may overheat. At 2:04 they say and show how all the still photos can be saved as a video though, so that's probably what you'd want to do. After all, no one really ever records sound during time lapse, everything would play at a super high pitch and the images move so fast that you can't tell it's a series of still images (similar to how we see 24 still images a second when viewing movies but can't tell that's what we're being shown).
Hi GreenpeasProductions, I am sure there are several apps that you could use besides after effects, I just find it's the most integrative as lightroom and after effects are both adobe products, they really work seamlessly together. You can also look at the option of downloading a timelapse app straight to your camera and doing it that way. Sony and Canon both have timelapse apps you can purchase and install, and then I would use the zyplay app + crane 2 to set waypoints for the moving timelapse and press start on both of them at the same time.
When shooting Panorama or Timelapse, it is recommended to turn off image confirmation in the Canon camera. When shooting Panorama or Timelapse, it is recommended to turn off the Sony camera's auto review.

I use the ZY Play app too and cant get the gimbal to finally stop at the final point. It will instantly jump back to the default home position. Example i set point A to focus on a vase and then point B to a window. The damn thing wont finish and stay at that window. It will immediately JUMP to the start position. Any help from someone here who knows how to make it stay at the last waypoint/position being set ?
It's frustrating that you have to leave the app open in order for this to work. After I set everything up, If I want to walk-away and/or switch apps on my phone the gimbal stops!! Why can't it run on the background? If I get a call or minimize the app this messes up the whole thing. Unusable for anything more than 10min. Is there a fix?

I continue to be frustrated with the ZY app. I use the new Weebill lab and it is extremely unreliable, specially for timelapses. Moving timelapses do not work, camera controls sometimes work, sometimes don't. And finding English-language technical support is a challenge.

I'm using Crane 2 with servo follow focus, but why I can't record or take photos from the app or even in the wheel button? I connect the micro usb on the bottom servo to gimbal and micro usb on the side servo to my Sony A6500. But I cannot control my camera from the app (but I can use the control for gimbal) or even from the wheel button. why is that? thanks

Fine, so I tried it yesterday and it works fine for some tests. Today I carried on but for a while the app doesn't work. I stoped the app and after a moment I stared all new. From this moment, when I like to set the waypoints (1:54 on your movie), the app tells me, the min. version is 1.6 and I have to update. Sorry, but I'm on 1.73. So I can't set any more the waypoints... Have one Samsung A5.

I'm confused. You mean that the phone app., thus the phone, needs to be on the whole time the time lapse is doing the video? If that's the case it renders the app. useless. Also, why the need to use LR. Aren't you creating a time lapse already. Why the need to "stitch?"

Zhiyun Crane 2 with Canon 77d.. Zyplay app on Pne Plus 6 crashes everytime during moving timelapse

Of course is not dedicated timelapse hardware but can still work nicely for the average situation.

What does "time inverval" mean? I don't see any difference if I choose 1 sec or 10 sec.

At present you can exit the app during the process. We're working on optimizing.

Please set your app to phone control mode and make sure the camera manufacturer has been set to Sony in the gimbal settings.

You need to activate the set the timelapse via phone app. Then it will send the command to the gimbal to move.
