Can you replace a blown ER6N engine with a Vulcan S engine?

Can you replace a blown ER6N engine with a Vulcan S engine?
I purchased a 2010 ER6N with a blown engine.
The previous owner said the bike needed a new piston but when I saw the photos he had taken with the head off it was clear the engine had dropped a valve and it needed a lot more than just a new piston.
I purchased the bike with the intention of replacing the engine and ended up using a Vulcan S 650 engine instead of an ER6N so here is a video about how it all worked out.

I just bought an er6n abs from 2006 and it have 50000k but its eating all the oil in like 940km, i dont see any white smoke, is an engine rebuild needed ?

Is the gearing the same ?

I don't know if it's the same. The gearboxes looked identical except for the shift drum.
