I totally agree with everything you say in this video!! My absolute favourite smell here!! Love this fragrance so much and it's such a shame they have stopped making this. Remember the first time I had this and I almost died the first time I sprayed it onto my wrist. I've never smelt anything as nice as this .

I love this one! I was the same when I first smelled it; it blew me away and I bought it on the spot. It was around '96, I think.. Thanks for the heads-up about the discontinuation, and thanks for the link with it in stock!

Sad to see a classic go, but thankfully we still have Jaipur Homme to fill that Spicy Oriental need.

Enjoyed the review! You know, I've never tried this one (almost pulled the trigger on a blind buy many times over the years) and recently a good friend in the fragrance community said that I didn't need to purchase it if I had other amber scents and that Amber Flash was a much better option. I sent him a decant of Amber Flash a year or two ago (and he purchased a bottle) so I'll take his work for it. To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of amber scents for years and years and preferred Vanilla Flash which, to me, is a more well-behaved cousin to Tobacco Vanilla that still performs pretty well. However, I picked-up Amber Flash last year from the back of the Scent Armory and wondered, "What the heck was I thinking" It's a brilliant amber fragrance IMO. Cheers.

Now I'm not sure if they discontinued it in Europe. Just in North America. 👍

I love Opium. Picked up a backup bottle last week. I agree with your assessment of designer risks. I hunted down Rive Gauche, M7, Pour Homme, vintage Kouros, Kourous Tattoo. I knew if I didn't get them now they'd be gone. Nothing like these are made today. Everything is an Invictus/Aventus/Savauge clone. I want ART, unique, risky, different. YSL was the best. Now they're insufferably boring.

Lalique hommage A L;homme edt is entirely different fragrance from the garbage. You will fall in love.Beautiful blending easy on nose.Addictive.Masculine.Yesterday I got Guerlain heritage edt.It has that Guerlain DNA.Its basenote linger on and on even after 20 hours on my armfolds.Sir can you tell me what is that ingredient which makes their DNA so common in their fragrances. That powdery feel.

Thank you! I'm going to go check out that Lalique out now! 🙂
Yes, the Guerlain DNA you're referring to is called Guerlinade. It consists of Bergamot, Bulgarian Rose, Orange Blossoms perhaps, Jasmine, Orrin Root "Iris", Vanilla and Tonka Bean. It was introduced in 1921 in La Guerlinade by Guerlain.

@@danielsan3681 So almost all Guerlain fragrances have these common notes.Jacques Bogart Signature edt 90 ml is Oakmoss and birch heavy masterpiece entirely different from all Green barbershop fragrances. It is being sold for 30 dollars in a Mall here in India. But luckily I grabbed three bottles from local wholesale vendor for17 dollars as I liked this note 40 years back but did not knew the name but my hunt was on and ultimately I found that note in it Birch and oakmoss heavy

@@danielsan3681 today I received my Opium... its really an art. I'm huge fan of vintage perfume. To me it smells little bit like Aramis edt and in the dry down smells like Jacques Bogart Silver Scent but this one has bourbon and much deeper feel. The bottle I got is of 2017 batch and the batch code is printed on plastic sticker at the bottom of bottle. I want to know if the batch code of your bottle is printed on sticker as mine or not?

In 20 years will have videos like this when Sauvage EDT is discontinued and it'll be the same argument, "They don't make them like they used to - what's out now is garbage - how can they discontinue Sauvage?!". I guarantee this will happen. Hopefully in 20 years I can look at this comment and have a laugh.
Opium Pour Homme EDT is amazing. I love this fragrance. But I also appreciate the current stuff, easy to wear stuff.
