I will start watching Heavenly Delusion. Weekly I've been enjoying Skip and Loafer and Loving Yamada at LVL 999. Been watching Vinland Saga but it is kind of slow now. In Vinland saga I was fine with the first 5 to 10 episodes being slow. But now it is almost 20 episodes and it still going slow lol.
For me it is always the three things that make a great anime: 1. World Building. Huge check 2. Painting and animation style check especially on the first one 3. Charakters and Characterstory. Check
i gotta say i disagree tbh, first of all the whole heaven storyline is boring as heck, second of all for an apocalypse they just never really struggle a lot.
Wait, Tokio doesn’t go invisible. The weird pregnant AI robot that runs the facility is tampering with the surveillance like it caused an alarm in another room instead of the one Tokio and Kuku entered. So far we don’t know her ability that’s why she got the dream of Asura asking her “what are you good at?”
It's like watching made in abyss for the second time. Great art, well defined characters, heartbreaking tragedies and a sprinkle of degeneracy. I bet the guy took inspiration from Tsukushi Akihito. These authors are sus af but they really know how to touch viewers' hearts.
Second season of made in abyss hits diff than pretty much anything else I've ever seen, few anime have disturbed me to that degree. Having said that it is one of my top 10 all time for sure.
is there any information if there is a season 2 planned? didnt read the manga but as the story seems, there will be plenty of stuff for season 2. Also I want to see robin suffer
The masterpiece is flying way too far below the radar due to the limited platforms its being streamed on, but it is going to be the sort of show I still actively remember years later.
If they make 2nd season and continue the series, absolutely, the series will blow up eventually and get the recognition it deserves. Not sure about Japan but at least in the West. Kind of like Steins;Gate.
Hell yeah. I've been loving this show. I feel like it's greatness can't really even come across until you watch it. It just has it's own unique vibe that is addicting while also pelting you with mystery after mystery. The characters happiness despite their bleak oppressive world feels natural and inspiring at the same time. Also, more than promised neverland, it reminds me of shin sekai yori, like a lot. It also reminds me of fear and hunger 2, so theres that.
After watching episode 8 (kind of like Chainsaw man from last year)...... Then yes, this anime definitely deserves every single grain of hype. We got a modern classic on our hands boys, bet!
It's amazing how we got introduced to new characters in episode 8, and yet managed to tell a story that shattered the hearts of many, including mine. Props to you for making me cry, Heavenly Delusion!
Personally, I consider Heavenly Delusion the best new anime of the season. And yes, even better than Oshi no Ko. There are many reasons, the most important of which is that Oshi no Ko started off strong, but then its level started to decrease, episode after episode. While Heavenly Delusion, all its episodes are strong, and with each episode it gets better. The story is very enthusiastic and constantly makes you want to keep watching. The production is more than perfect, and the characters are realistically written. This really deserves to be the best new anime of the year ( so far ) for me.
I don't know man it is hard to compare shows like these, I don't think Oshi no ko level is decreasing it is just that it doesn't want to be as heavy as in opening and I don't think that should be seen as negative since it does exactly what it set out to do. I like tengoku more as well for the record. Being best anime of the year/season is really meaningless tittle when we are lucky to have bangers like these, we are eating good.
I feel like it's been ages since we didn't have a case of "masterpiece anime that hasn't been anticipated because it got overshadowed by the standard shonen of the season" like Tengoku Daimakyou , and seeing such dedication put into an anime that wasn't necessarily aiming for the top spot in annual rankings makes me feel so good , it reminds me of the 2010s back when the catalogue was diverse , *and* of high quality , you know asside from the successful shonen , the other options were qualitative unlike nowadays where we get only 2-3 insanely good animes while the rest are just cheap isekais or absurd harems. Spring 2023 has been an A tier season anime wise , we got Oshi no Ko , Hell's Paradise , Tengoku Daimakyou , Dead mount death play (which sadly isn't talked much about , but I heavily recommend it. Though I advice to skip half of the first episode since we don't get to the main plot , and it just drags the story) , Mashle , Yamada at Level 1000 and Skip to Loafer , which marks the return of entertaining shoujos that had disappeared these past years. I didn't mention Demon Slayer since it is not a new anime hahah. Having a great time watching the many animes this season has to offer tbh.

I started watching it when there were six episodes and I binged it all in one fell swoop. Absolutely fantastic show. I love the music and I love the characters. Kiruko is one of the best protagonists I've seen in ages and her chemistry with Maru is perfect.
6:37 It may be because I’ve been deprived of a 12 esq episode anime like this for a while, but each episode felt like it was an EXTRA 10 minutes! The really adventurous story they’ve shown gave me so much to work with while watching. And of course the animation, it was consistently great and it kept spitting out those impressive perspective shots so often. The anime completely immersed me like no other
It's good to see that this anime really is taking off I really hope that they make this a series or at least a short couple of seasons I haven't been interested in anime like this in a long time
im almost certaint that all the students that go to the academy are hiruko/man eaters that we see but before they became man eaters like the tokio who can turn invisible is the man eater that kills haruki/kiruko and the one that can climb is the fish with legs and the kona guy drew the man eater with legs and the chick who can climb got it maybe foreshadowing she is that same man eater

I’ve had this show on hold since I’ve heard of it months ago. I was expecting to watch it sometime even later but when it randomly showed up in Disney+ I had to give it a try, and I gotta say, I wish I dove into it as soon as I heard it!

This season is stacked. In my opinion Vinland Saga S2P2 is still the peak of the season due to how deep and profound the story is but at the same time Heavenly Delusion and Oshi no Ko are amazing
idk i don't like where the story is going since ep 12 so i still find oshi no ko and heavenly delusion more interesting (but that's totally subjective).

By the 2nd episode, I already knew this was going to be one of my favorites just off the presentation alone. I just finished it and I give it like 9.5/10. It's sorta similar to Evangelion but even better IMO

Apart from Vinland Saga and Oshi no Ko, this is my 3rd favorite anime this season. It's like that game Fallout mixed in with an anime like "The Promised Neverlands". I also love just how unpredictable this show is. I still don't know where the story will go with what they've showed us till now.
I think the story in the heaven and the children are from the past (before the calamity) and my biggest evidence is the last episode scene where the 4 children are going to the city and the story of maru and kiruko is the present which is after the calamity (which is left to be told in the next season)
I FEEL EXACTLY THE SAME (SAMESIES) ABOUT THE LENGTH OF EPISODES VS THE AMIUNT OF INFORMATION-actually I've been impressed by how the show is managing that without exclusively using exposition dumps to disambiguate said info. I mean, they have, but, it's not just Hunter Hunter's Narrator about it, and so far hasn't thrown out a Speedwagon to serve the function.
Glad to see more people discussing and praising this series. Though quick correction, Tokio doesn't have invisibility powers (since things besides Tokio also don't show up on the cameras), what's happening is that the surveillance footage is being hacked/manipulated (most likely having footage looped through it) when Tokio is in danger of being caught.
Reality is worse than what was on the manga. Why would it ruin anything? It makes their world believable. All hell breaks loose to some when it happens to kiruko but where's the outrage when feminazis abducted and did things to little boys? How about hotel king who was clearly groomed?

OH WTF in the episode that came out literally a few hours after I made the comment about the information distribution not throwing it all onto a narrator, THERE WAS LITERALLY A RANDOM NARRATOR to do a little "inner monologue of a character" expositting. I believe, though, since it sounded to me like it was purposely supposed to have been funny, that it was maybe a one off or future running gag, & not a sneaky backdoor intro to a narrator 6 episodes deep. It wasn't really that funny, but, I'm kinda jaded about the setup of the type of joke it was, so I guess it might be funny for others. But at least there was no immediate punch-the-innocent-dude-in-face that ended the bit.

Apart from Vinland Saga and Oshi no Ko, this is my 3rd favorite anime this season. It's like that game Fallout mixed in with an anime like "The Promised Neverlands". I also love just how unpredictable this show is. I still don't know where the story will go with what they've showed us till now.

I think the story in the heaven and the children are from the past (before the calamity) and my biggest evidence is the last episode scene where the 4 children are going to the city and the story of maru and kiruko is the present which is after the calamity (which is left to be told in the next season)
which also led me to another theory that maru is the child of tokio
I FEEL EXACTLY THE SAME (SAMESIES) ABOUT THE LENGTH OF EPISODES VS THE AMIUNT OF INFORMATION-actually I've been impressed by how the show is managing that without exclusively using exposition dumps to disambiguate said info. I mean, they have, but, it's not just Hunter Hunter's Narrator about it, and so far hasn't thrown out a Speedwagon to serve the function.

Though quick correction, Tokio doesn't have invisibility powers (since things besides Tokio also don't show up on the cameras), what's happening is that the surveillance footage is being hacked/manipulated (most likely having footage looped through it) when Tokio is in danger of being caught.

It makes their world believable. All hell breaks loose to some when it happens to kiruko but where's the outrage when feminazis abducted and did things to little boys? How about hotel king who was clearly groomed?

OH WTF in the episode that came out literally a few hours after I made the comment about the information distribution not throwing it all onto a narrator, THERE WAS LITERALLY A RANDOM NARRATOR to do a little "inner monologue of a character" expositting.
I believe, though, since it sounded to me like it was purposely supposed to have been funny, that it was maybe a one off or future running gag, & not a sneaky backdoor intro to a narrator 6 episodes deep.
It wasn't really that funny, but, I'm kinda jaded about the setup of the type of joke it was, so I guess it might be funny for others. But at least there was no immediate punch-the-innocent-dude-in-face that ended the bit.
Heavenly delusion:
1: it gives you nightmares for eternity.
2: the gore.......blood.......violence..
