Do you know Amazon owns Twitch, IMDB, Goodreads? Or that Meta of Facebook owns Instagram and Whatsapp? Or that the same people that own Reddit own Warner Bros, who also own CNN? Or that essentially every mainstream pornsite is a subsidiary of Mindgeek?

This video made me truly understand how this whole system works. The TV/TH-cam/TikTok viewer is the cog. All of us on one those things go out into the world do our things to buy stuff we see on these screens! LOL, welcome to the club, "Corporations man"! You just unlocked the secret of the whole consumerist machine - it's all designed to make you want stuff you don't need and keep that money flowing up to the top. 💵 But hey, at least you're aware of it now! That's the first step to breaking free from the cycle, right? 💪🏼 Just resist the urge to go out and buy a new gadget or trendy outfit every time you see it on your screen.

Linked is interesting in it has its own ecosystem, no one hits mainstream news off a LinkedIn post lol,
but there is social currency within the ecosystem.
I think it’s a similar principle that H&M made 198 billion last year while Gucci made 18 (according to Bard).
But watching this I think that brand value is also a factor and auxiliary value, like as a corporate employee having a solid LinkedIn profile will help your career.
But as a person of influence other platforms will give you what LinkedIn cannot.
Flexing about LinkedIn virality outside of LinkedIn is just not as sexy.

Concerns for data privacy (which affects everyone) aside, LinkedIn can be a personal safety threat as it tells a stalker or spiteful ex where you work. Great video as always, but gotta say again... really don't like the doom and gloom music. It's really distracting and depressing.

this video is missing the point. if you look at app trend in china, you can see the future is in "superapp" and social media has a strategic advantage in positioning itself to become a superapp. that's the reason why Elon sold some of his Tesla share to buy Twitter. while I don't know if he would be the winner of the race to the superapp. social media isn't the endgame, it is just a means to the end. LinkedIn as profitable as it is, has no means of expanding into superapp.
saying Microsoft is the winner is kinda like saying Toyota is the winner because EV is not profitable, however the goal of EV isn't about electricification, it a path toward automated transport system. if you allow executive to make decision based on current earning, you end up becoming the next "kodak" moment.

    LinkedIn is the worst

LinkedIn is 90% garbage; adverts and crap self-promotional content by a cesspool of wanna-bes.
Carnival hucksters are more entertaining. You won't find intelligent discourse - just a conga line of dim-wits vying for attention. The only enlightenment is the sheer number of self-promoters and wack jobs.

Hey man. Your content is great quality and I understand you have a stake in silo but plugging it in each of your videos makes the whole thing less credible.

Ever since this guy started showing his face, his videos feel more and more factually wrong. Earlier it felt like it was an information based channel, now it feels like it is a commentary channel.

Also notice it, but hey they do are a player in most important markets and good part of the time in a way most people miss it and since Satya took over it has done very smart acquisitions and investments.
It's like a wealthy friend that is always looking for the best new thing and usually finds it...

Yeah, I find it really interesting just how low key they are about so many things that they’re doing so well in

Not even a minute into the video and you're already comparing members with monthly active users. Members are just people who have created an account on the platform, monthly active users are the amount of people who log into the platform and use it every month. You can't compare the two with eachother. TH-cam probably has enough "members" to fill our planet 2 times over while LinkedIn has about one billion. If you compare monthly active users then TH-cam has about 8.7 times more active users than LinkedIn (2.7b vs 310m). Also never ever in my entire life have I heard anyone call LinkedIn a "socialmedia" platform, even if it's intended to be one, it's mainly used by businesses to check out potential employees as far as I'm aware.
You're comparing a business platform with entertainment platforms, two completly different worlds yet you make it seem like they compete with eachother. Not so logical, eh?
