Yeah that's what you can expect from TH-cam channel based in US but the sentiment in shared across borders too. But mainly among teens. IG or Tiktok etc. offer easy way toward entertainment which teens love. Dumb trends coming and going, influencing shallow materialism etc. are teens stuff and hence they love those platforms. But at least the people I know all are adults and they all use FB where its not reels that dominate but real life. FB is a great place for finding real life stories, events, friends if you know where to look

Young people prefer Instagram, tiktok but they still use fb messenger, groups,fb marketplace, old people go to everyday also and are on fb watch also doesn’t matter if people migrate from Facebook to Instagram is still a win because meta owns it, in Nordic countries instead of WhatsApp they use fb messenger, the problem with Facebook is they can’t grow much more but they are still growing 0,5%.

Because it was not built around any specific focus, like photography, it's become a really handy general purpose site. The marketplace is like craigslist, the business pages basically replace websites for a lot of small companies. Messenger video chat is like WhatsApp or Zoom , You can organize local events or create a group chat for your business and set up meetings. And of course you can keep up with your friend's pets.
They're also pretty good about making changes incremental and not breaking features that people like.

I think that Facebook has the specific utility, that other social media just can't have. It is still the easiest way to gather people from the specific location for whatever reason. Expat groups, local groups, finding events in the specific city or area.
If I want to find an interesting event on weekend to attend there is literally no better way than using Facebook. So even if I don't spend much of my time in Facebook, it is not that I can just delete it or something.

We use Messenger for both group and private messages, and platforms like Instagram and Facebook for viewing stories. It's worth noting that the phrase "Who uses Facebook right now" seems to reflect a more American perspective. Beyond the United States, it's important to acknowledge that there are numerous countries worldwide actively using Facebook for messaging, social interaction, entertainment, news, and more. I see this a lot in your videos and of some other TH-cam creators, mostly based in US, that you're missing the fact that different parts of the world have vastly different cultures around internet use.
You said that you've never met a single person who would use a Messenger, but oh boy would you be surprised to learn how popular it is in Europe. Most of my friends use Messenger and they're all 20-30yo age group. It is much more popular than WhatsApp around here and the culture is so different that actually WhatsApp is often considered junky because you have to register it with a telephone number and that's how you connect with others, whereas instead with Messenger you just ask for the person's name and you add them on Fb, immediately connecting on Messenger too :)
And weird enough, everyone has and pretty much uses Fb around here too. I mean even young people I meet, that are like 16-18, they're still on Fb.
Also Marketplace is a popular place to list stuff for sale, fb groups, events, meme pages, etc. ;) Fb is quite big outside US.

I quit Facebook in 2020. I wasn't a Trump fan (def not a Hillary fan), but I gave him a chance. As my support for him grew, I found myself constantly getting warnings for reposting content. They gave me a 30 day suspension for sharing stories about growing up in a Black and Hispanic community in the 80s and 90s while being a Southeast Asian. I was flagged for racism for sharing stories of being jumped, windows broken and fireworks being thrown in our home, bricks thrown at my parents, pellet guns shot at our car. Survived a genocide and ran into another form of terror. But Facebook didn't like my story nor did they like me reposting videos of Asian Americans being targeted during C-19.

Facebook is the replacement of TV. Those who don't like TV, they also don't like Facebook. The majority likes it, because they prefer to consume whatever it's served to them instead of looking out for stuff.
The only way for Facebook to die is when a better social media platform appears that does it better and that's extremely difficult, if not impossible, even for billionaires. Like Microsoft where many do it better, but still Microsoft leads the way. Facebook, like Microsoft, is not going anywhere. Sadly.
