I see this a lot in your videos and of some other TH-cam creators, mostly based in US, that you're missing the fact that different parts of the world have vastly different cultures around internet use. You said that you've never met a single person who would use a Messenger, but oh boy would you be surprised to learn how popular it is in Europe. Most of my friends use Messenger and they're all 20-30yo age group. It is much more popular than WhatsApp around here and the culture is so different that actually WhatsApp is often considered junky because you have to register it with a telephone number and that's how you connect with others, whereas instead with Messenger you just ask for the person's name and you add them on Fb, immediately connecting on Messenger too :) And weird enough, everyone has and pretty much uses Fb around here too. I mean even young people I meet, that are like 16-18, they're still on Fb. Also Marketplace is a popular place to list stuff for sale, fb groups, events, meme pages, etc. ;) Fb is quite big outside US.
You don’t know what you are talking about most people still use fb marketplace,fb groups,fb messenger although most young people don’t use it as a “social media” plataform anymore then you need to account for developing countries were it basically means their whole world that meta is even trying to give them free internet.
I'd bet Facebook makes substantially more money off advertising to it's users, frankly - older people are way more likely to actually click or buy a product based off an ad. A higher click through rate will demand higher prices for impressions.

Facebook is the replacement of TV. Those who don't like TV, they also don't like Facebook. The only thing I use facebook for, is to look at my old timeline, view a few updates from a couple of personalities, and find people I have lost contact with.
Even before watching your video I know FB is still relevant. IG or Tiktok are popular among teens and teens only with new trends coming in and going all the time, glorifying their perfect yet shabby life etc. but FB is the platform for Adults. From getting to know about some event happening to meeting up with old school friends, to lot of people sharing their real life story not reel life story, FB still is very much relevant.
I think it really depends on the region too. I'm 22, and I mostly use Facebook after TH-cam, and I see a lot of people using Facebook too.
I don't like Facebook, but Facebook ads are way more effective than google, youtube or any other social media. People buy more often from a Meta plataform than a Google one, yes is because of data collection, but for small businesses is often the only option we have.
It’s not dead.more mature people on their and also the marketplace is decent
Yep pretty much
every profile i visit have posts from two years ago
I have to admit, Facebook marketplace is good because you set the search range that allows you to pick up the item yourself while interacting with the listing
And their marketplace perfectly implemented a feature that complements allot of exisiting Facebook market groups.
@@Michael-iw6gy yeah that’s why I like it and people are still mostly trustworthy but you till have to be careful
The marketplace is dog shit 😂
In my country, Facebook is used by almost everyone. If you ask a 11 years old kid for his social media account, he'll give Facebook link. Other countries does not use FB but here FB is like everything and Messenger is used more than WhatsApp. Instagram is 2nd Social media here
Its heavy censorship and control prevent it from being good. Plus, the messenger feature is buggy, basically useless garbage.
One of the reasons why social media usage is declining as people age is because the content of social media is mostly made by and catered to younger people.
Feeds full of "Suggested" or "Sponsored" posts are also driving many people off social media.
@K1Kamikaze Can you give an example of how Facebook is now geared towards 30-50 year olds or was it something you heard from somewhere?
I do social media marketing and facebook is king when it comes to converting to sales.
Hari uses ubiquitous in literally every video
Probably do haha
That make "ubiquitous" ubiquitous in his videos

Same with hotmail. Despite gmail's popularity, hotmail is still very profitable and popular so microsoft decided not to shut it down.
you can't make a new hotmail account now though. Only old email addresses are allowed to keep the @hotmail email domain name
Why does Castlevania catastrophe orchestra fit a Facebook video so well?
I see this a lot in your videos and of some other TH-cam creators, mostly based in US, that you're missing the fact that different parts of the world have vastly different cultures around internet use.
You said that you've never met a single person who would use a Messenger, but oh boy would you be surprised to learn how popular it is in Europe. Most of my friends use Messenger and they're all 20-30yo age group. It is much more popular than WhatsApp around here and the culture is so different that actually WhatsApp is often considered junky because you have to register it with a telephone number and that's how you connect with others, whereas instead with Messenger you just ask for the person's name and you add them on Fb, immediately connecting on Messenger too :)
And weird enough, everyone has and pretty much uses Fb around here too. I mean even young people I meet, that are like 16-18, they're still on Fb.
Also Marketplace is a popular place to list stuff for sale, fb groups, events, meme pages, etc. ;) Fb is quite big outside US.
If fb didn’t have marketplace it wouldn’t be a thing anymore imo
Really? I think a lot of older people tend to use messaging and groups as well
@@LogicallyAnswered a lot of older people around where I live prefer to talk via SMS or phone calls
You don't know what you are talking about
You don’t know what you are talking about most people still use fb marketplace,fb groups,fb messenger although most young people don’t use it as a “social media” plataform anymore then you need to account for developing countries were it basically means their whole world that meta is even trying to give them free internet.
Using messenger only isn’t using Facebook,
No I clicked on this video because I like listening to your content
I'd bet Facebook makes substantially more money off advertising to it's users, frankly - older people are way more likely to actually click or buy a product based off an ad. A higher click through rate will demand higher prices for impressions.
I find it funny that I use Facebook Messenger all day pretty much every day 😂
And … also I keep in touch with lots of people specially throughout my family
Ah, I guess you’re part of the core market haha
@@LogicallyAnsweredin Europe is more normal, I message is rare, everyone uses WhatsApp or messenger or a combination of both, telegram is starting to make a dent but mostly for sharing more strange things...
@@LogicallyAnswered My experience is that it can vary from country to country a lot. While I lived in Germany, all my friends were using WhatsApp, no one used FB Messenger. In Hungary this is completely the opposite. Btw, thanks for the good content, keep it up!
I’m originally from Brazil, but I moved to the US back in 2001. Basically I use Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram ( in order) then only for some people I follow Twitter ( sorry I refuse to call it X😂)
Active User of Facebook is in the Philippines! Just like how we still use Friendster until it died out we'll keep using Facebook until it dies out!
I find Facebook's rebranding to Meta hilarious. It's as if The Coca-Cola Company had renamed itself New Coke in 1985. 🤣
It was a strategic move, they wanted to stop associating their other apps to Facebook brand. And scandals weren’t helping.
It was a smart move because Facebook was associated with privacy invasion and been investigated by usa meanwhile meta means nothing although zuck said it was because of the metaverse
i like the Humor you are using in your Title.
I want Facebook to fall so bad.
Let's not forget the marketplace, which brings in significant revenue and traffic
Fakebook doesn't go away because they desperately want our money but not our opinions.
I am 34 years old and only use Facebook for the communities and events. I deleted nearly all personal data and unfriended everybody.
Like all your videos, well done documentary. However I must say the background music is way too overbearing and frustrating to the point I was unable to finish the video. The chosen music creates a feeling of alertness and anxiety, similar to an action film. That may be tolerable for a short while, even necessary for a few seconds, but after a while it's tiring and distracting. Please consider rerecording this video without the music at all!
My family is from el salvador and all of them even the ones currently living here use facebook daily
in indonesia elderly or young still using it on group festure for entire topic related
Great video Logic :]
I quit Facebook about a decade ago but still use Messenger for family message purposes.
I quit Facebook in 2020. I wasn't a Trump fan (def not a Hillary fan), but I gave him a chance. As my support for him grew, I found myself constantly getting warnings for reposting content. They gave me a 30 day suspension for sharing stories about growing up in a Black and Hispanic community in the 80s and 90s while being a Southeast Asian. I was flagged for racism for sharing stories of being jumped, windows broken and fireworks being thrown in our home, bricks thrown at my parents, pellet guns shot at our car. Survived a genocide and ran into another form of terror. But Facebook didn't like my story nor did they like me reposting videos of Asian Americans being targeted during C-19.
FB is a platform ran by dictators. You can't speak about anything that doesn't align with their ideology or risk being suspended. Anything to protect the Blacks and Browns, not the Asians or Whites.
@DroneStrike1776 I got a 30 day suspension for sharing my experiences about living in a Whites & Asians neighborhood. I agree facebook is run by dictators and they'll do anything to protect the Whites & Asians not the Blacks & Hispanic s
@@DroneStrike1776 Same here, I quit FB because of their content moderation policies. It's funny how they initially flagged the Wuhan lab leak theory as racist or disinformation but then retracted that policy after the government admitted it as plausible a year later.
@@DroneStrike1776Exact. I bet many of the comments on this video are bots; otherwise, those people would have to be smoking the hard stuff, in order to praise a garbage platform like Facebook.

You have no right to make demands. Make your own videos and do your own research, don't pester the creator. You're not important (although you might think so)

@@anush_agrawal Thanks. I tried looking through those sources and had trouble finding the exact reference to the timestamps I mentioned.
Citing sources in the pastebin is a great start but as a big blob of sources it becomes harder to find what you’re looking for. Another simple option is adding timestamps to the sources list
Is that the Kings & Generals music at 9:18? The one they use when war is about to happen.
In Bangladesh Facebook is the social media that everyone use. X (formerly known as Twitter) is used by very niche amount of people. Instagram is getting popular day by day. TikTok and TH-cam is heavily used.
Literally using facebook to talk about replacing my moms roof.
I am 32, and my father is 70. Both of us are super active on Facebook. 😂
Personally, out of all the platforms FB works best for me, also the flexibility it offers in the post not being restricted to vertical it's far easier to create content. I get an average 500K views on FB and less than 1K on insta and tiktok. There are additional benefits like events as well as many communities.
There are some countries that have integrated Facebook far too deep within the system of their society. The obsessively heavy reliance on Facebook is so incredibly scary from within these countries that I feel as though if Facebook were to ever die, it would cause a major disruption (if not collapse) of those entire countries. That's how much they rely on that platform.
Needless to say, that's not a good thing.
It wouldn't cause a collapse of anything. Just like with everything, people will quickly find a replacement.
Gen z in Latam still use Facebook a lot, specially knowing their TikTok creators earn money on Facebook rather than TikTok
you should mention that US is not the whole earth. in our country, we primally use facebook. more than twitter. if we compare twitter's numbers to even with youtube, you can see that twitter is just a small social network.
Keep up the vids!
Is he serious that he doesn't know anyone who uses fb messenger? It's what the majority of people I know use. I must be officially old (36)
Another informative video, always learn alot watching LA videos on tech companies. Hope to see a video on Craigslist one of these days. Got a 'Donate' button somewhere? Thanks!
Ah, thanks for the suggestion man!
Just watching the videos is more than enough support :)
I am a late millenial from brazil and I miss the facebook groups and events, they made much easier to organize large local events compared to whatsapp groups like we use nowadays, but whatsapp is getting better at this too, but a linear talk is not ideal
Acredita que depois de 2013~2014, bem na idade que comecei a trabalhar, Facebook simplesmente ficou chato, parece que nunca mais foi o mesmo e as pessoas e coisas legais simplesmente sumiram de lá.

The FB group I'm in is compossed of some of the most successful people I've met in my life, some of them CEOs already. From pure business perspective, it would be extremely unwise to tap out of this "old" platform.
Facebook is the replacement of TV. Those who don't like TV, they also don't like Facebook. The majority likes it, because they prefer to consume whatever it's served to them instead of looking out for stuff.
The only way for Facebook to die is when a better social media platform appears that does it better and that's extremely difficult, if not impossible, even for billionaires. Like Microsoft where many do it better, but still Microsoft leads the way. Facebook, like Microsoft, is not going anywhere. Sadly.
another example that just because the younger more vocal people in murrica and nearby say it is gone doesnt mean that most people in the rest of the world share the same sentiment. Same goes with the dumb obsession with the green text box and iphone.
Messenger is so much superior than any other chat platform.
lol here in the Netherlands everyone uses facebook, and messenger aswell
Facebook is always big with support groups like parents who have kids with disabilities.
og fb is more vibrant than ever in Vietnam
Why is the music in the end so epic sounding lol

EVERYONE( young and old) in South africa uses Facebook. Not to say that they don't also use insta, tiktok, x , etc
Here in Bangladesh Facebook is huge
I don't have Facebook anymore, I do have Instagram but it's not on my phone, it's browser only on my PC. Never used WhatsApp. I don't want their fascist apps on my phone. Facebook and IG suspended me too many times for speaking about being a Southeast Asian who's family survived a genocide and now living in the hood. How hard it was because the other POC *ahem Bee eLL eeM* and the Hispanics would feel oppressed and take it out on the new guys. When I repost videos of Asian being a**ualted during C-nineteen, I was temp ban constantly. As a Conservative, social media like Meta isn't for me. Most of us SE Asians grew up in poverty, but we aren't allowed to speak about our experiences because RaC1$t. Can't believe I have to spell certain words in cryptic.
honestly, the first word that came to mind was "boomer"
Another key audience which facebook has got is its massive yet undersaturared penetration in countries like india. Here facebook became a thing 10 years after US and given India's higher population, even the saturation will come a bit later than US. Albeit the purchasing power is less and the finacials might be different but here in india, facebook is still penetrating.
There isn't really anything equivalent to Facebook. Your feed is just people you added - unlike Twitter which is far more public - and the special interest Groups work really well. It seems that a lot of kids are using Discord now, but that's even more siloed than Facebook!
I mainly use FB to message some of my friends and sometimes to see a few memes from a few pages I follow :)
