    If you are a General Nurse doing the Adult NMC OSCE exam, you will need to know how to chart the GCS correctly in your Assessment station. Here's a step-by-step guide from www.oscenurses.com by IELTS Medical UK
    In this presentation, we take you through the GCS tool from the perspective of the NMC OSCE exam. In the video, we take you through the fictional scenario of Mr. Sample Example prepared by the NMC's Oxford Brookes Competence Test Centre. We break down the GCS scores section by section as well as how to complete the pupil size and arms and legs limb movement section.

    Hello! I downloaded the app. May I ask what does the APIE package 72 hours offer?

      Hello @Alam_Mylene R - thank you for downloading our OSCE for Nurses mobile app. The APIE package is a digital mock exam with standard feedback from one of our NMC OSCE Educators within 72 hours. Hope that helps!

    Hi, is it always scored as 4 in the pupil scale? Or is it going to be based on the real patient upon assessment? Also, is it acceptable to put RL in one box in the limb movement if they have the same normal power instead of putting a dot? Thank you

      Hello @Henlo - yes, it's based on the real patient you'll be assessing and yes it is acceptable to put RL in the limb movement box instead of a dot. Wishing you the best of luck in your NMC OSCE exams - IELTS Medical.

    Hi, the pupil size is not part of the over all score? We do not need to add the pupil number in the over all score? Thank you

      @rubyshay212 No it's not and no you don't. Happy studying!

    What if the resp is 15, thats a very small box for a 0-20 resp?

    • @IELTSMedical
      @IELTSMedical  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's true, Punky. However, you can put a dot in that box to represent that the respiration is under 20. Hope that helps and best of luck with your NMC OSCE.

    In a proper hospital setting with a patient who has suffered an acute head injury surely you're going to have an actual NEWS chart to chart their full vital signs plus a separate neurological observation sheet? This just seems ridiculous and backwards to chart this way.

      Hi @Molly Kwlly thank you for your observations. Thankfully, in the NMC OSCE exam you will either have a NEWS chart OR a GCS chart - not both.
