This is your FIRST exposure to Led Zeppelin?? EVER??? Dude, if you were blown away by this... well, you're in for a lot more of that. "Kashmir" should be your next one. It's EPIC in every sense of the word. Many rock historians call LZ the greatest hard-rock band of all time. The band's name came from someone once suggesting that a supergroup with Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck would "go down like a lead balloon". At the suggestion of their manager, they droped the "a" from "lead" and replaced "ballooon" with "Zeppelin", which is another word for a blimp.

John "Bonzo” Bonham is The Greatest Drummer of rock. Nobody can touch him. Robert Plant’s voice is surreal. Get down this rabbit hole, my man. You don’t want to miss a thing. I saw them live in ‘74. It was truly a privilege.

Back door man is a guy who comes thru the back door of a house as the husband leaves thru the front door. So glad you've been introduced to Zeppelin...music will never be the same for you!
When I was around 14 yrs. old, a girl gave me a cassette tape of Led Zeppelin's number 4 album. I had never heard of them before. She told me that she didn't like it. Got to my house, played the cassette tape & fell in love with this band! To me, They are my Beatles. Actually, they sold more albums than the Beatles did!

Sort of. Page wanted to form a supergroup with Keith and John Entwistle and one of the two (sounds more like Keith though) said that would go over about as well as a lead balloon
you made this old lady's heart a Whole Lotta Happy- a back door man is a man that runs out the back door when the man of the house comes home-btw - LZ is my favorite band of all time-you really can't go wrong reacting to anything by them-I suggest going back to their debut

Story goes they were tryingto think of a name for their band and Kieth Moon, who was the drummer from, The Who, responded to someone’s comment by saying yeah that went down like a Led Zeppelin and there you have it. Unfortunately, Kieth Moon died of an overdose at 32.
Led Zeppelin got its name by the who's drummer Keith Moon when they were at a party in 1968, Keith had said that you were banned Jimmy is going to go over like a lead balloon hence the name Led Zeppelin... play since I've been loving you by Led Zeppelin

You'd get a kick out of "'' Hot Dog "'' because it's a departure from their blues based songs. I was a teenager when they hit the scene and couldn't Wait for each up coming album. So I play them a lot when I'm working in my garage and my neighbor can't help but hear them. "'' Hot Dog"' came up which piqued my neighbors curiosity because he came over and said that he didn't know that I listened to country music. He wouldn't believe that it was LZ until I handed him the album cover.
Enjoy the rabbit hole you have just entered; it runs very deep, and hit after hit will show you why Zeppelin is considered one of the Kings of Classic Rock.
The opening riffs of this song has made me feel some kind of way since I was 14. 4 weeks ago Robert Plant was in my small city in NY, he was on tour with Alison Kraus. Long story short, he winked at me. I can die a happy woman. His vocals are legend.
A zeppelin is a fabric-covered "airship" invented in the late 1800s and it looked similar to a balloon; one crashed in England in 1916, and there's an old saying "go down like a lead balloon", which means to be an utter failure. A musician from another band said these guys would go down like a lead balloon so, putting a twist on it, Jimmy Page (guitarist and founding member) decided on the name Led Zeppelin. "Whole Lotta Love" is classified as blues rock and they recorded it in 1969. It's the first track on their second album. Yep, Robert Plant can definitely sing and Jimmy Page can definitely play the guitar. You saw him in the video sometimes playing a double-neck guitar, 12 strings on top, 6 on bottom. "Back door man" is a common phrase in old blues music and it means a man who slips in through the back door of his lover's house so no one can see and expose the affair he's having with his married lover. Since you liked this song, if you want to hear another that is blues-inspired, listen to "You Shook Me" from their first album. A bit slower pace but I think it will blow you away. The vocals and guitar are absolutely incredible. I really enjoyed your reaction and subbed to hear more. If you dive into LZ, I recommend first listening to studio recordings before live performances, and starting with their early stuff in order to get a feel for their progression as a band as you move through their catalog. Rock on! :) Edit: These guys were pretty young when they recorded this song. Plant (vocals) and Bonham (drummer) were around 20, Jones (keys/bass) 23 and Page (guitar) was 25. Four guys who were already masters of their craft as individuals, a frigging force when they came together as a band.
Agree 100% to listening to studio recordings first; they're the gold standard - and on what an incredible level of musicianship these guys had at such a young age, it's crazy! The depth of emotion Robert Plant transports with his voice is also just incredible; listening to "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You", "When The Levee Breaks", "Whole Lotta Love", "Dazend and Confused", "Your Time is Gonna Come" - and he was like 19, 20? GOAT!
The song "You Shook Me" By Led Zeppelin in my opinion, is in many ways one of the best and greatest rock music songs in rock music history - it's just my opinion and there's tons of great rock songs - but "You Shook Me" is way up there and you would really enjoy it if you react to it!!
Back in the day, when someone used the phrase "back door man" what they meant was the guy that went to see the married woman in the neighbourhood, and used the back door so the neighbours couldn't see him going in the house. Neighbours like to gossip, so use the back door.
@@triphophoney2981 Yes, I know. This song was written when the original meaning was used. I find it hilarious how a younger generation co-opts an old saying and re-interprets its meaning. I can make a long list of them. ie. We used to use the word "sick" in a completely different context from what is used today - as a shortened version of "sick in the head." We used to call someone "dog" when we were saying they were ugly. We only called guys "bro" or "dude," and we only called girls/women "bitch." If we wanted to say the equivalent of "bitch" in reference to a guy we used "pansy." I've lost count of how many old sayings or terms have been recycled and the meanings changed in the modern day.
Next up Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving You - Live at Madison Square Gardens 1973 Or If you just want something a bit quicker Led Zeppelin - Black Dog (album version)
The origin of metal is Tommy Iommi from Black Sabbath. These are not metal-riffs, it's Rock baby. But you are right about the origins of "Sex, drugs & Rock'n'Roll". That one you can def. tribute to Led Zeppelin.
Grew up with this music. So glad to see young people digging it. Led Zeppelin is mindblowing stuff. Everytime I hear this I remember blasting down the highway, windows open, and music blaring, playing air guitar and singing with Robert Plant!
Backdoor man was slang for side piece or dude that you snuck into the house. He's got a whole lotta love. He's gonna give her every inch of his love. Way down deep inside. He talkin about bangin. All time greats, listen to everything they did
Bruh you are lucky as F**K hearing these guys for the first time! You are in for a mind blowing, trippin, rocking out treat! I wish i could erase parts of memory so I could experience Zeppelin over & over & over... 🤯 Cheers!
What does "Led Zeppelin" mean? Aside from "greatest rock & roll band of all-time," the story is this: Supposedly the drummer for The Who, Keith Moon, heard the band practicing and said, either joking or being serious, that they would go over "like a lead balloon," meaning "crash and burn." They changed "balloon" to "zeppelin," a type of giant German balloon from World War One, and they changed "lead" to "led" so there would be no confusion about which way to pronounce it.
Led Zeppelin songs, where do you start. “Kashmir” “Dazed and Confused”. “Ramble On”, “Stairway to Heaven”, “Communication Breakdown“, “Over The Hills And Far Away”, “Rock And Roll”, “When The Levee Breaks“, “Going To California”, “Fool In The Rain”, “Immigration Song”, “Heartbreaker/Livin Lovin Maid”, “Good Times Bad Times”, “Achilles Last Stand”, “All Of My Love”, “In My Time Of Dying”, “You Shook Me”, and 100 more.
Led Zeppelin has so many great songs, like "Since I've Been Loving You", "Stairway To Heaven", and one of my personal favorites, "Kashmir". Ya gotta check 'em out my man!
Robert Plant sang in the Anglican church choir as a boy. He certainly let go by this time! Led Zeppelin was an amazing band, experimental with heavy blues influences which are apparent in other songs. Thank you for sharing young man! 😽💋🎶
The term Led Zeppelin was a wise crack remark from Keith Moon the Drummer 🥁 of the band THE WHO as he didn’t believe that James page could be successful with the musicians from the North Country Plant and Bonham who were not well known and came across as rather dangerous people.
I love finding these reaction vids with music from my teen yrs, I just love watching everyones faces, Yes Robert Plant can sing, lol you guys really don't know what you missed 60's 70' and most of the 80's best music ever

The mighty zeppelin. One of the most successful ans first stadium bands. Hands down my favorite band of all time. Zeppelin came from I believe Keith moon from The Who who when they formed he said the band would go down like a lead balloon. They took it snd changed spelling and changed to zeppelin. Kashmir my fave song tho rock n roll is awesome too.

We only called guys "bro" or "dude," and we only called girls/women "bitch." If we wanted to say the equivalent of "bitch" in reference to a guy we used "pansy."
I've lost count of how many old sayings or terms have been recycled and the meanings changed in the modern day.
Next up Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving You - Live at Madison Square Gardens 1973
Or
If you just want something a bit quicker Led Zeppelin - Black Dog (album version)
You just witnessed the origin of metal - and the true spirit of Rock’n’Roll - Sex, drugs and music 🤘and this song is just about the first one 😜
The origin of metal is Tommy Iommi from Black Sabbath. These are not metal-riffs, it's Rock baby. But you are right about the origins of "Sex, drugs & Rock'n'Roll". That one you can def. tribute to Led Zeppelin.
@@ingobordewick6480 nope its helter skelter from the beatles, song came out a few years before sabaths debut and its very very much heavy metal
@@fardass3535 That's maybe the first metal-song, but the Beatles are not the first metal-band.
@@ingobordewick6480 fair enough
I am 62. And back in the day.. You had TALENT. No machine. Just hard talent.
The Greatest ROCK'N'ROLL band of all time LZ !!!!
Grew up with this music. So glad to see young people digging it. Led Zeppelin is mindblowing stuff. Everytime I hear this I remember blasting down the highway, windows open, and music blaring, playing air guitar and singing with Robert Plant!
Best band of all times. All times...
Cheers!
78 yrs old. I saw them in concert three times in California in the '70's. The best, the best, the best. No one like them ever. The real stuff.
This song never gets old...Love it!! ✌❤
I got old but the song is FRESH.
Led Zeppelin......it means down a blues rabbit hole is what it means.. ;) Subscribed!!!
Led Zeppelin has so many great songs, like "Since I've Been Loving You", "Stairway To Heaven", and one of my personal favorites, "Kashmir". Ya gotta check 'em out my man!
You just reacted to the greatest rock drummer and rock vocalist of all time. As recognised by their own peers.
Dazed and Confused is one you will very likely love.
Never gets old
Robert Plant sang in the Anglican church choir as a boy.
No Samplers, no PC, no synte, just pure music as they feel it at the moment and a unique voice!
You are in for it now. LZ are Rock Gods.. yeah you can say Robert Plant has "confidence" you will clearly see it. ☮️💜🤘🎸
This song was released on Nov 7, 1969, exactly 2 weeks before I turned 10. I am now an old lady, and I really enjoyed watching your reaction to this song! I love seeing young people's reaction to songs that I listened to as a young'un. This song is what you call primal!
Since I've been loving you live at MSG and I can't quit you babe live a the albert hall are two on my favourite live performances ever.
Led Zeppelin is one of the greatest rock groups .... please react to more Led Zeppelin... your next one should be Stairway to Heaven
I am 57...Smoked my first and would jam on this whole "album" ...LOVE LED ZEPPELIN and LOVED your reaction!!!
