Yes, we were able to get the City to install two raised crosswalks on Parsells Avenue as well as Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs). We're doing a refresh of the "boulevart" mural this weekend and reinstalling the temporary curb extensions (still working on getting the City to make those permanent, but we haven't given up!). The City has also added a bicycle boulevard to the neighborhood and is in the process of adding protected bike lanes, and they've added speed humps and a raised crosswalk outside of the neighborhood school. Still more work to do, but lots of good progress since this film was made!
1:03 thats my idiot friend doing the wheelie in front of my apartment. He fell and broke his leg after this. He's okay, but he doesn't do wheelies anymore.
The trouble with Rochester, Buffalo, and all other upstate New York cities is that they have become too car centric favoring the automobile over all other modes of transportation and other uses. There needs to be a focus on more urban style planning and development along with making all streets safer and friendlier for all uses. This will help tremendously in revitalizing urban neighborhoods.
I look forward to visiting Rochester, a friend of mine has inspired me alot. God bless the community.
Amen 🙏 finally something good in Rochester NY.
This is great!! Did it become permanent?
