Good point and I agree. One time I was dating a guy and several people told me stay away he is trouble or this or that. I was glad I did cause he proved in time he was nothing but a womanizer. Caring and advising someone is so much better than going behind you back and gossiping about you.
As someone with close family members who are cancer survivors it really is so important to not hold back about any struggles because once those close to you find out they really do just want to help you. The housemates didn't know what was going on yet, but thankfully it seems later in the episode Jesse will open up about his health and from a recent update he is okay. I also saw in the other preview clip that Jesse and Ciara have a talk and resolve everything. I like Jesse but I actually understand why Ciara reacted that way and even Jesse seemed to understand her point after they talked. Ciara apologized for her delivery and on the After Show she explained that it was never about saying Jesse shouldn't hook up with people, it was just about how he had said some degrading things about women that she felt was trash bag behavior. At the dinner Jesse had referred to the women he was hooking up with as "leads", said that he now hated both women that he'd gone on dates with, and said that he treats some as more disposable than others (he'd also previously pressured Ciara about her own boundaries and said he goes after girls with boyfriends). Ciara wasn't trying to be malicious, her reaction was just in relation to those things and was why she wouldn't want to set him up with her friends. It's also okay to sometimes have disagreements with your friends, and I much prefer when this show has genuine people behaving imperfectly and also willing to own up to stuff. I saw someone say that because Jesse is a cancer survivor that he can treat women any way he wants, but I'm sure Jesse wouldn't want people to be treating him differently or be infantilized by others. Everyone can have flaws and no-one should be on a pedestal. Also clearly Ciara didn't know about Jesse's recent concerns because Jesse didn't want to tell anyone yet. Anyway Jesse and Ciara cleared things up so I hope the people still sending hate to Ciara will stop. One of my favorite parts of this season has been the dynamic with Ciara and West and Jesse and from what they've said in interviews there will be more good moments to come in the next few episodes. Looking forward to it.
Yes I hope the people who have been sending Ciara hate stop too. It really was so disproportionate and the same people had nothing to say when Jesse was pressuring Ciara about her own body and making misogynistic comments throughout this season. I like both Jesse and Ciara even though both can be blunt, but it's felt like people have held them to different standards. It made me understand her more because that kind of stuff definitely has an impact on how you react, even when you've gone to therapy it doesn't just go away. What I appreciate about Ciara is that even when she makes mistakes, she does actually try to learn from the past. She came onto Summer House when she was 24 years old and I think she's one of the cast members who has grown a lot each year. At the end of the day everyone is imperfect and she deserves the same grace given to others.
Carl independently needs to figure out who sober Carl is, he has to figure out who this new person is from the ground up. Lindsay needs to do some soul searching and get in touch with why she reacts and responds to situations the way she does. They both want the whole puzzle out together, but are jamming pieces in that don’t fit and recutting pieces to fit in. They want the happy ending, but are in denial in different ways. They aren’t for each other and that’s okay. Lindsay just wants to get married with little or no regard to who Carl is as a person and Carl just wants to jump into this sober life to get his happy ending despite not having a personal foundation to anchor it to. This relationship lasted way past the expiration date.

I noticed that too, he got thrown off when she was so calm. It felt like at some point both of them, but especially Carl, started thinking about how their breakup would be portrayed on TV and crafting their storyline to make them look like the victim.
I didn't read her as calm, i read it as disinterested. She just said "ok, so dinner?" when her partner was saying point blank he was overwhelmed. And then he even acknowledged that how he handled it was wrong. She gives nothing lol

Yeah and Ciara was very upfront with West from even their first conversation that she was an intentional dater and was looking for a relationship, and he chose to pursue her. I actually think we'll see things progress on the show and it seems they did date after the summer (we know she visited his family farm in the fall and West said his parents love her) but from what's known they aren't together now. West has said in recent interviews that he has a fear of commitment and usually runs away (something that West said even his parents are concerned about). It really is a shame if he did get Ciara to connect with him (and his parents) but then pulled away.

West even said that Ciara has been very loving to him and that he didn't feel friendzoned. So I think whatever did happen when they dated post season is more about West's own ongoing commitment issues than anything else.

I feel like Lindsay was 'settling' for Carl because she is a super-strong woman and Carl seems kinda like a weak man (and a bit of a mama's boy) to me. Lindsay will likely have a super hard time finding a man to match her level of strength; maybe (in all seriousness) she should start dating women too (to widen her dating horizons.)

One lady told me about a guy I was going to meet . She told me his height, his sign, and his eye color. I didn't believe it because she said blue eyes. I didn't date white guys so I blew it off.
