That said, knowing what I know about turbos, I struggle to see how that would be reliable long-term. The IS38 will be like a pump being deadheaded with too much backpressure and affect longevity of the turbo. Speaking with some who have the same software file they run the CTS catted DP with the APR file without issue. This is on sale on CTSs website right now for $475 gonna pull thr trigger and install it after thr IS38 gets done. I can do the install myself the money saved in labor is immense.... Sounds good. I want a sleeper so a DP with the stock catback is my dream set-up. Subtle exhaust note so as not to turn heads too easily. Don't see me I wanna sneak up on ya and then stomp ya lol.
They are TTY, yes, but many have been reused dozens and dozens of times. Only a dealer will "kit" the bolt up for whatever reason cause the system tells them to. Private shops everywhere don't, I'm sure.
Got the Borla s-type cat back exhaust with the 3.5inch tips and this downpipe ordered, its gonna sound wicked and the IE carbon intake coming as well ! :D

Nice, let me know if you are able to pass NYS Inspection or not with that downpipe. On my MKV GTI, I was Stage 2 APR with APR's catted downpipe. Apparently the cat was not powerful enough to pass NYS inspection but was legally a 100 cell cat so they were allowed to call it a catted downpipe. I did not have a CEL, due to the fact that APR Stage 2 will remove any CEL's related to O2 sensor issues because they assume you are using a catless downpipe.
Yea 100 cell is basically straight pipe lol. 200 cell minimum for the stricter tail pipe sniffs. Here in Ohio they just scan for fault codes for "e-check". Could be burning more oil than gas, no CEL, pass 😅 obviously a very flawed system. I am about to run this DP and getting my inspection right before to give me 2 years to iron out any CEL issues that may occur. But running the APR Stage 3 file I am not worried. APR may not offer downpipes anymore(can someone explain?) but I suspect their files still have the No O2 fault functionality. I would hope.

I have a 2019 jetta 1.4t i am straight pipe but still have cats. It isn’t loud as I want it. I was thinking going for CTS 3” catted dp with stage 2 for the check engine light and a luft air intake but i am in utah and i am very concerned if I should proceed with this but I am not sure because of the rules. And i am not sure if they will look underneath even if I pass emissions. Certain cities don’t do emissions but where I live they do. So please help. I want this to sound good but also perform as it should.

He's already on summer tires which is better than the stock all seasons. Lots of tq on a fwd, it's pretty hard not to spin. The only alternative in my opinion would be a drag radial but not practical for every day use.
I haven't driven a 6mt Accord but the 10at is proven to be faster. They are both great cars for the money can't go wrong with either one. I personally love the size of the Accord since I have 2 little ones. Lots of videos on my Accord on here its Stage2 with Ktuner now.
@@DanVilla7 did you put the right jets which is one of the three Circular metal pieces thats comes in the That’s how it regulates the air, you got to put the right one or the code will come back
Great video. Do you notice the sound difference inside the car? I'm running JB4 map 6. I'm on the fence about getting a DP. Too much interior noise and possible CEL worries me, though
@@robby23electicalengineer Yes you should makes a big difference once you go stage 2 but if you have a 6spd like I did you will need an upgraded clutch. As far as installation if you can get all 4 wheels off the ground so you can remove the oem dp its long and needs room to swing it out.

Those dog bone bolts are TTY and technically should be replaced, FYI. I got mine out without removing anything, but it was a huge PITA.
His has the same issue as performance pack gti so couldn't wiggle it out without taking the bolts out. Once he did came out real easy no obstruction.

Only on a cold start when it's real cold otherwise, no smells. Catless is rough when its comes to the smell.

I believe they all do but I'm not 100% sure.

My 2017 gli the bolts are all rusty so I have to have a shop do it lol
Some good penetrating oil should get the job done. Most of the rust is just surface a 2017 isn't that old where bolts would be reall frozen on.
