    I had heard someone say it like that about 14 years ago, now I can understand it better the way he says it. Being prepared is the key. You will not rise to the occasion, you will only rise to the level of training.

    absolute gold...I think a lot of people get in the trap of being lazy when they don't have a specific purpose. The reality is that when you're doing something even without a purpose, you're preparing yourself for that moment when you do have a purpose.

  • @cccc7006

    I interpret what he said more as "perform without a prize". We want to do things only if there's a prize at the end. Whether its relief from suffering or a goal we've been yearning. No. Do it with nothing to gain from it. Suffer with nothing to gain at the end.

    What hes saying is so true because most of us waste so much mental energy onto what a perfect workout should be that we pre-exhaust the mind into thinking too much about whats going to happen…. But if you are just performing aimlessly you are more in tune with the moment and it becomes more accustomed for your body to act more and think later

    • @kaczok1985
      @kaczok1985 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The issue is there is no way to measure success if you're just grinding aimlessly.

      @@kaczok1985the thing is there no success the key is that you care about yourself and you see where you started to where you at that’s the key like from 300 pound to 100 you go be proudly

      @@ant_davis3415 Of course there is success. But it's something you define for yourself when you pick your goals. For instance, if your goal is to be healthy going from 350 lbs to 180 is a success.

    I relate so much to this. There are guys who i know are so able to focus and get stuff done but they can only do that to the (in this case) college's given assignments, exams but as soon as they hit a boring task that make them ask themselves what are they doing, they just cant they give up. Ive trained myself to tackle this, ive performed to the (almost) best of my energy when i felt purposeless doing thw task i was doing time and time again. I had to make myself focus when i felt like there are so many more important things needed to be done. Now i feel like i became a monster at doing the work that will make me question why am i doing this?

    i remember the moment when I told myself right, if this is it, if this is all it is for the rest of my life this suffering, I accept it. this is what that reminds me of, pushing the pram alone, in winter. I guess thats when I started to perform without purpose. Saying yes to life.

    "Si ya nada me muevo, yo mismo me muevo" is a Spanish sentence, which translates to "If nothing moves me, I move myself" (or "I myself move myself"). So if nothing specially motivates you, you just gotta do something basically.

    You have a right to perform your prescribed duties, but you are not entitled to the fruits of your actions. Never consider yourself to be the cause of the results of your activities, nor be attached to inaction.

    All my life ive felt like ive been living under a thread. Waking up without any motivation. Having people care for you when your too blind to see it because your remenicing on your past or what you could've done different. Sleepless nights playing with the demons on my mind. Its a feeling that never goes away, no matter how many times i change my habbits nor do something different. Because ive feel like ive benifited others and never focused on myself. Just living it day by day making the same mistakes knowing for a fact that ill never change. Its like my body is here, but my soul isn't. I dont know what i am, who i am for that matter. Because i wonder if what i do is enough. When nothing in life ever is. These... questions, thoughts i cant stop repeating in my head... asking myself; what the fuck am i doing here?

    We are not all like him we cant train without purpose so you can argue what if there is no purpose i would say that you need to be able to cut in parts some big purpose into smalls steps and invent everyday some small goal and you can achieve same greatness as him

    The funny thing about having a purpose or whatever the fuck that's suppose to be is; we completely forget the race we participated in to reach that egg, just to get here. This is the purpose. To be here. But people waste it, assuming purpose is only correlated to material. Now that is pretty sad.
