  • Just Arrived: A 600 piece 80’s and 90’s Vinyl Collection!
We’ve just put out one of the more interesting collections we’ve had in some time. It is roughly comprised of three distinct areas:
    1) rare 90’s rock, a little over 200 titles
    2) rock and classical audiophiles around 80 titles, and
    3) jazz and blues reissues, around 200 titles
    90’s Rock
The 90’s, especially mid to late, was the low water mark of vinyl production. CDs, and then the rise of the internet with its downloads, really decimated the market, and most labels gave up LPs for dead. However, there were still a few that trickled out, and some boutique labels made small batches.
This collection features a pretty amazing assortment of these rarities. We don’t think we have ever had so many scarce records from this period in at one time before. It features titles from Pearl Jam, Phish, Springsteen, R.E.M, Sarah McLachlan, and many others.
The condition of most of these records are excellent. Many are still sealed, and the vinyl is immaculate, with just a few exceptions, on the rest. However, a small percentage of titles have some water damage on the covers. There doesn’t seem to be any mildew, and the water did not hit the records, but it is obvious on 20 records or so (over the whole collection, not just the 90’s records). We have, of course, reduced the price on these.
And speaking of price, please know that a lot of these records are not cheap, with many in the $25 to $100 range, and some super-rares fetching upwards of $200. We are below top-market value, but they’re still pretty pricey.
Note that these records are sold first come, first served. Many of these titles are in very high demand, so to be as fair as we can to everyone, please do not call us to ask to put any on hold. For those not familiar with our store, sorry, we are a walk-in store only and do not ship
    Audiophiles
By “audiophiles”, we mean those records that are sought after as much for their sonic qualities as for their music. Typically, they are on heavy virgin vinyl and much care is put in the transfer of the music to disc. This collection has a great assortment of titles, rock and classical, on such notable labels as Mobile Fidelity, Nautilus, DCC, Analogue Productions, Speaker’s Corner (from Germany), Classic Records and more. Many are still factory-sealed.
    Jazz and Blues reissues
Finally, this collection has a very nice assortment of classic jazz, and blues reissues, all in excellent condition. The vast majority are on the OJC label (Original Jazz Classics), who bought up the rights to hundreds of titles and put them out in the 80’s and early 90’s. There are also some fantastic Impulse and Blue Note reissues of some of my all-time favorite records.
Featured artists include Miles, Coltrane, Eric Dolphy, Dave Brubeck, Oliver Nelson and many more. None of these records are very expensive; all are $4.99 to $14.99, with just a few higher. These records are a great way to build a classic jazz collection and we don’t expect them to last long.

$59 for that fucking Creed record?
    Yeah... good luck with that.
Also, most of these are repressings. Most aren't worth the vinyl they're pressed on.

This is why I quit going to record shops .... they are asking like $60 for re-pressing's I can buy on Amazon for $20. I went to a place today and they were asking $80 for an old beat up copy of Pink Floyd's The Wall .... lol

Honestly I just got into Vinyl. I like to support the local guy as much as the next. But I'm not gonna go broke supporting them when I can get the same thing cheaper elsewhere. I went to a record store for the first time and was turned off by the high prices.

COOL!!! You're playing "REM-What's The Frequency Kenneth" in the backround!!! I have the "REM" album "Monster" on ORIGINAL vinyl, NOT a reissue. I bought a lot of those 90's LP's when they came out. My friends thought I was crazy at the time because CD's were in full swing and vinyl was "dead" to them. NOT TO ME!!....Some of those LP's on vinyl I bought in the 90's were: Soundgarden-Super Unknown on Blue vinyl/Nirvana-Live From NY-MTV on White vinyl/Nirvana-Nevermind on Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab/Green Day-Insomniac/Tripping Daisy-I'm An Elastic Firecracker/Mathew Sweet-100% Fun/ Mathew Sweet-Blue Sky On Mars/Led Zeppelin-6 LP Box Set/Alice In Chains-Jar Of Flies and Ramones-Adios Amigos just to name a few. I still got 'em all and I'm glad I bought them in a world that was blinded by digital! I have the last laugh!! :):)

Yes the 1990s records are a rare. It was the Dark Age of Vinyl. I remember Tower Records had a small selection in the back of records! I started buying Coil Records in the late 90s. Vinyl was mainly bought by the folks who liked underground music like punk, industrial, and extreme metal.

Considering some of the damage 33 RPM has shown on his channel to sealed records that were badly warped or had internal gatefolds destroyed by original shrink wrap compressing them I'd consider vinyl what was kept sealed for that long with no promise of condition completely worthless.
It's a total crapshoot as whether being kept in shrink long-term damaged it or not.

I think you're under-estimating the value of quite a few of these. There are an insane amount of triple-figure records in the '90s box. The Stones records are all reissues and not worth that much compared to the Tori Amos and Springsteen titles.

I believe MFSL went under and sold when they knew multi-tracks would eventually be remixed, excelling in audio of a (used) "master" tape! In an "analog" world, your "mixes" have to be stored on another (noisy) tape, not so in a digital world.
    Just my two cents! :-)

90's music on vinyl is just as much a novelty as Taylor Swift on Vinyl. It was the era of the Compact Disc and so shall it forever be.

Born in the 60's I've been a buyer since I was real young. And the 1990's is my personal favourite decade. There was variety like never before. Many new styles of music appeared, grunge, techno, trip hop, progressive metal, Drum n Bass, Big Beat, Dub step, two step, ragga, need I go on.

Hip Hop was living it's golden years. There were so many unique rock bands, even pop was good. It can't be the worst decade at all.

i was born in the 60s too and i thought ninties music was pretty lame.....grunge wasnt a new style i saw bands playing pretty much the exact same style in the mid 80s,sludgy underground rock, grunge was just coined by the media and record companies to try to create a hype in order to sell CDs all the others you mention apart from progressive metal(which is just a joke) are all variants of the same thing, there was much more variety and better music in the 70s and 80s...compare punk to grunge, there were hundreds of punk bands in 1977 all over the world...grunge was just a handfull of bands of which only a couple were any good.
