Dr. Anthony Fauci has become one of the most recognizable faces of the United States’ coronavirus response, as a member of the Coronavirus Task Force and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. But it was an earlier crisis that shaped his career - and that’s crucial to understand his position today.

Fauci really let us down. When you compare how the health officials in South Korea prepared that country for the pandemic compared to us, they never even had to shut down one town, and they still got the number down near to zero. It looks like Fauci was asleep at the wheel. Trump should fire him and replace with the head of South Korea's version of the CDC.

We tried counter tracing from the start and quarantine but it just got out of hand because of different factors. 50 different states, 50 different governors, 50 different approaches on testing, 50 different ways on reopening. Was FDA originally Federal Drug Administration? (4:34) because I knew it as Food & Drug Administration. Or has something changed? I see something about a 2018 renaming and narrowing of the mission of the FDA when I google it.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. It was actually originally the Food, Drug and Insecticide Administration then they chopped off the insecticide. In 2018 though the government proposed something that would reduce the scope of their responsibility to not include food. Apart from that incident which has not been enacted I don’t know why they referred to it as that.

I know what Kramer said about him and you should know that Kramer himself has stated he changed his views regarding Fauci and admitted in his final days before his death that they became the closest of friends and was worried about how Fauci would handle the stress regarding this pandemic.
