    Best knives for this price. Don’t Chinese, true Sweden 🇸🇪 knives. Big respect ✊🏻 for Morakniv.

      Nothing wrong with Chinese knives. They are highly automated too. Perhaps their heat treatment are not up to mark but their finish is equally impressive.

      @@freenational Swedes also make the best steel on Earth. Both on bucdget steels ( Sandvik family) and on High End steels (M390, Elmax etc) It's not only the heat treatment, the Chinese worker, is payed 1 dollar, to work all day. Chinese also are aiming more to quantiy instead of quality. Not to mention, tht their master diceivers! I mean, they can make something look like it's high quality, but in reallity, it's a piece of junk.So...No compariosn. Europe > USA > Japan > Sweden > Germany > I'd put even Taiwan ahead of made in China. but still there are so many other countries, that are maiking better quality, that it's nonsense to compare Swedes with made in China.

      @fedreserv6133 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@freenational Actually a lot of things are wrong with most of chinese production knives.
      Starting from cheap and low quality steel to lousy heat treatment and poor finish.
      Few companies who work well like Kizer/Enlan/Ganzo pricewise are getting pretty close to USA/EU production, which again doesn't leave much sense for picking chinese products.

    Mr. Thomas Eriksson is quite a man of character. He speaks of how the robots grind the blades but never come with suggestions to improve the knifemaking process. Apparent in the statement is his strong value for the people who work at Morakniv. It is a testament to the quality of the company and its products.

    I'll never forget how I batoned my first carbon steel Mora through a thick piece of red oak. As the wood fibers twisted, the knife got bent so badly, I was sure it would be ruined. But when the oak finally split, the knife sprang back to being straight. Amazing quality.

    Väldigt intressant, tack för fabriksturen. Lycka till och önskar fortsatt framgång för Morakniv. Önskar även en utveckling av mer estetiska outdoorknivar, med det menar jag att Garberg och Kansbol serien kunde få fina träslag i handtagen. Det hade fulländat valmöjligheterna. God Jul, medan vi täljer på.

    I own some moras, some even twice.
    I love the classic line and have some special models.
    When things get tough, I use the robust.
    I work with wood with the Classic, 511 and the carving knives.
    The Compagnion MG HD has proven itself very well for bushcrafting.
    I only use carbon knives.

    Mora & GPS knives are all I need. I tried a Schrade and then found out later they aren’t from USA anymore. Thing was dull and had a cracked blade with messed up costing out of the box.
    Never had a Mora coke to me damaged in any way.
    I’m sure there are many other competitions but for value to quality ratio: Mora cannot be beaten and only thing that comes close imo is GPS Knives in Ukraine.
    Much love from USA & ty for recommending my next few Mora to try! Great customer service by Mora.

    What’s Morakniv’s position on light, emergency baton splitting word for kindling? Some netizens say the Basic 511 can handle it while others argue in favor of at least 2.5mm and thicker models. BTW my wife complains about my obsession with what she calls “combat paring knives” but still grabs my Companion in 2.0mm carbon steel for supermarket whole chickens; she says the 2.5 stainless is too thick.

    • @MoraknivOfficial
      @MoraknivOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We would say that it's completely safe to baton a blade that's at least 2.5mm thick. Some thinner blades can absolutely handle it, but it's kind of a gamble so to say.

    In the knife world spending more doesn’t necessary bring you better results.
    My Garberg performs better than a knife double its price which is made in Italy, with fancy steel and handle.
    I’m so glad Mora is still going strong in Sweden, using local materials. Many companies have moved in China decades ago.
    I have 2 Mora knives currently and looking to buy an Eldris and a wooden handle one.

    Don't you need a maintenance manager ? 5 years in HACCP food factory, 2 years in a wood factory, 12 years as Electromechanical trainer !!! And knife enthusiast, collector, speaking english and french... No ? Pleaaaaaaase

    Impressive.
    The recognition of lost skills and innovation by utilizing robots.
    An old company embracing new tech (investing money), maintaing quality,
    and not gouging customers. But using efficiency, to keep prices down.
    A fan of their knives. Now a fan of the companies management.!

    Husker Du from the Texas Hill Country!. I was given my first Mora knife when I was 8. My Mormor and Morfar had gone back to Sweden in 1968. My Morfar was from Garsas. Just bought a knife and a hatchet. Love my heritage!

    Big fan of your knives. I have a robust carbon and a companion hd stainsless and these are my best knives and not only for the price but for overall quality. the factory is ultra-modern and aims to recycle and reuse materials as much as possible while polluting as little as possible. Congratulations for all this good work

    Thank you for sharing so much information regarding what is arguably the most popular & competitively priced knife brand in the World, in my opinion. At 72, I've spent 54 years in mechanical manufacturing & design & can appreciate the speed, efficiency & accuracy of your operation. The people that belong to your company can hold their heads high & know that they are all well respected by the knife buying community.

    Because of the robots, the knives are affordable priced.
    I kinda miss the handwork, but then the prices would be double or triple the way they are now

    Mr Thomas Ericsson, you can have the most beautiful video but if you don't supply South Africa for instance it means absolutely nothing. I have 4 Morakniv knifes and like them very much but have been struggling to get carving knifes and Classic knives for more than six months here in South Africa. And don't tell me to order from Amazon as their shipping costs are a rip off.
