I think choosing an alto sax for the "This Is Halloween" solo was a mistake on the arranger's part. A trombone or baritone would've hit the vibe of the original much better. There are higher parts of the melody, but most of it is either bass or has bass accompaniment. That said, this really isn't a marching band piece - it's much more suited to a full band or orchestra - so it's still impressive Mr. Brown got it to sound as good as he did.
