    I've always liked these machines. Don't know why. I hope to ride in one someday. That and fly aboard a DC-3.

      Sorry. There aren't a lot of opportunities to make old iron videos in New England in Winter.There are a couple of events on the horizon, weather permitting though so stay tuned.

    Really interesting video! I guess I'm just getting old, but it's hard for me to consider some of the stuff here "vintage." The old steel "ladder track" Sno-Cats sure are, as are the Bombardier Muskeg tractors. I kinda consider anything by Pisten to be newer stuff. The first snow groomer I ever ran was an old Army Weasel at Black Mountain in Jackson, NH. Now -that's- old!!

      The Pisten Bullys are definitely modern machines.These are what the snowmobile club uses for their regular trail maintenance. The Sno-Cats and Model T Fords were vintage, though.

    Cool stuff!
    Def want to block wheels of a trailer like that while loading and unloading something that heavy.
    It places a huge amount of strain on the parking pin of transmission of the tow vehicle !

      I agree. I think it would have been a good idea.

    That Tucker with the V8 sounds like a couple of plug wires are off.

    What’s so vintage about a PistonBully that’s what they use now for grooming.

      You're right, the PistonBullies aren't vintage. They are owned by the snowmobile club that put on the show and are used for grooming the riding trails. Several of their members were there and were giving rides.

    what is the machine with the ski front wheels?

    • @Trukluver
      @Trukluver  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The machines with the skis on the front are Model T and a couple of Model A Ford Snowmobiles. In the early 1900's, a New Hampshire man came up with a conversion that attached a second axle to the rear of a Model T Ford. He then put crawler tracks around the two rear wheels on each side and attached skis in place of the front wheels. The machines were marketed to mail carriers, doctors and others who needed to get around in winter in the days before roads were regularly plowed.
