  • My Shun Kai bee loader got a good test this fall as an early winter created cold and slippery conditions. Didn't slow us down that much as this video was taken.

You certainly made that look easy with your new forklift!

Hey Phil, first time MB beekeeper here, your videos have been AWESOME. Did the beekeeper's hobby course through the U of M this winter, but got really sick in spring and missed the timing on getting a nuc. Total surprise, I had a swarm take up residence in a tree along trails running through my property in early August. I was told they wouldn't survive winter up in the tree, so we did a cutout and put them in a langstroth hive, rubber-banding in as much natural comb as we could. With lots of learning and trial and error they have done pretty well. Anyway, all this to say I was doing similar on a much smaller scale this week, moving them into our vacant chicken house with some alterations for ventilation/light. It's neat your video popped up on my YT feed today, how timely. Hoping our little colony makes it through winter with a 40f temp in the chicken house, but if not, we'll try for real next year. Keeping bees has been incredibly rewarding despite not taking any of the honey our little colony produced this year.

Well I can't complain about it being cold here in central Oklahoma now. We have no snow here as of yet. Happy Halloween.

Looks like you machine could use a little more weight on the back. It looked like it could get bouncing good on uneven ground wit ha full load on. Thanks for sharing your time Phil.

This is a trade off. I like the machine being light enough to not dig into soft ground... I have bigger machines if it comes to that.

@@philbeeman Just looked like it could get bouncy on uneven ground. But I guess you are only moving 4 at a time.😁Have a great day Phil.
