This is no brainer, especially for UK residents. It is all about cost. Monthly fee massive, and rig should be very good. Otherwise, we could buy SeeStar and entertain ourselves with taking Orion Nebula over and over again. I looked at your AstroBin page. Nice! You have 3-4 years experience. Right? But, in 3 months more production than all rest! Here is answer for remote observatory. The next step is a bigger scope. 14-17” one. Any taker?
Congrats on the new remote setup. Looks like a great solution without the hassle of setting up and maintaining your own equipment. Fantastic images at the end by the way.
Thanks so much, Logan! Yes, it's really exciting to have more options now and I'm having great fun with it! Have a lovely weekend mate and best wishes! :)
Thanks for that info Steve. I'm seriously considering going down this path after the frustration of trying to image over the last six months from my backyard, I actually bought a OSC camera because it became impractical to use my mono set due to the amount of clear skies or should I say lack of. I'm currently living in temporary accommodation which is surrounded by high trees so I can't even image the sun at the moment as it's too low down to clear the tree line.
Grats on the remote set up. Awesome shots at the end there. Yes.. I have considered it and think it will be an eventuality for me. Like you, it wouldn't replace my backyard imaging.. it will supplement it. Mostly for those faint targets that benefit from the dark skies.
You seem to have studied many locations for remote hosting. Can you share the list of hosting services you worked on, with pros and cons ? I did understand that insurance was one of your priorities, but have you considered any other criteria?
Hey mate, there’s a link to the website in the description with full info, but I’m paying £399.00 GBP per month…thanks for tuning in and have a great weekend! :)
@@scotiaastro that sounds similar to alot of places ive looked at so far, but does the price change for this place depending on the size of the scope or is it fixed at 399, so for example is sticking a 16" scope there the same in rent as an 8"?
@@jacquesloveridge30 Hi mate, for this particular package, you only get the choice of a StellaMira 90ED Mono OR OSC option...this isn't a solution for sending over your own gear...but PixelSkies (link in description) are the operators of the observatory and they do provide the option to send your own gear, so best check with them? Hope that helps, but any other questions, please feel free to ask.
❓QUESTION OF THE DAY: Have you ever considered remote imaging?

Highly recommended mate! Thanks for tuning in! :)

Thanks James! Yes, it’s great to have options and the darker skies have certainly made a huge difference…have a great weekend, mate! 🔭📸👍🏻
This could be interesting as a syndicate buy in. The base price is around 350 gbp / month, so 7 persons would be 50/ month
Highly recommended! I'm loving it...thanks for tuning in and have a great week! :)

Do you switch on and off your remote computer? If yes, how do you do this? What remote switch board do you use?
The remote PC stays on and connected 24/7... :)
@@scotiaastro Wow! It has to be method to switch it on; like remotely “pressing button “.
has this been sped up 2x? :-p
Change the playback speed to 0.75 and it’s fine
I need this but the question on everyone’s lips is what’s the cost?
