It is ilegal. You cant get more than one Boris per rusian player unless you capture a yuri mcv or are yuri yourself and then you also need the allied WF and tech center to make the battle fortress. I supose you could begin as yuri, work your way up to a yuri prime and try caping enemy buildings or mcvs, that gets you max 2 Boris and battle fortresses. You would then need other players to cooperate and provide you with the other 3 Boris. Unless you cheat, play a custom map or coordinate your enemies and allies towards this single goal, it just wont happen.

If you garrison battle fortress with yuri clone when your battle fortress got mind control by enemy, the clone inside are still on your side and can mind control enemy unit!! And when get attacked by magnetron ,they also can use mind control in mid air . May be i was wrong, but i remember I found this when playing online
@@sukasuka7292 actually you can. I accidentally did this many years ago. I palced my yuri clone near a soviet war factory. The moment a kirov was produced, it was still on the ground and ready to float, so my yuri controlled that kirov :)

You missed the MOST INTERESTING thing about Battle Fortresses, not sure if you know this already, but I'll say it anyway. When you are facing a Yuri AI, and you have access to either Yuri's Clone, or Psychic Commando, load them into the Battle Fortress and drive it into the Yuri base. It will act like a better version of Mastermind that knows self control. Plus, the Battle Fortress can be mind controlled, but the mind control units you loaded inside will still be yours. Yuri's AI will most likely send the BF to the Grinder, but in the mean time, enjoy watching everyone in the Yuri base mind controlled to your side and tearing their own comrades apart. I call this, the Mind Control Trojan Horse.

No it's not OP, I tested it. First it's very expensive $4500, that's more than 3 apocalypse tanks under Industrial plant. Its range is mediocre, can't siege and you are extremely vulnerable to mind control. It's versatile on land and even if unit dies, you get 5 tesla troopers, but then it gets kinda messy.
Not OP at all. If anything, a Battle Fortress with 5 Elite Psychic Commandos is all the more terrifying. They transform the Battle Fortress into a Mastermind with an even longer mind control range without the drawbacks of overloading.
5 GIs are better. They deal twice as much DPS to infantry and buildings as Tesla, and almost as much DPS to tanks. GIs also have more range than Tesla Troopers which matters a lot.

One of the most fun units to use in Yuri's Revenge. Used to build lots of these and have each of them carry 4 Guardian GIs and 1 Sniper/Navy SEAL for all-around role.
You should test the crate upgrades, if you haven't already. DO they stack? How much speed, armor, firepower do they add? How does it work on each unit, even the special ones? Does the speed upgrade decrease the time for chrono legionaires to teleport? Etc :)

Now to think about it, Chrono legionnares basically "erase" anyone causing it as a kill, either friend or foe. You can't tell since the target can no longer be recognizable. All you know is that you got a kill.

Mastermind = can mind control up to 4 units but self destructs so up to 3 units only. Battle Fortress w/ 5 Yuri clones = can mind control 5 units and still won't self destruct.
TG there is a game breaking bug with Chrono Legionnaires. If the Chrono Legionnaires attack a building that is being garrisoned BEFORE the Infantry reach it and erase it the game WILL instantly crash on the frame the building is removed.
Oh, so that's what happened when I played skirmish and I delete some random building with chrono legionnaires, the A.I must have been ordered some of it's infantries to Garrison inside one of the building I deleted
The best way to combine battle fortress and Guardians GI is let them auto atk and we must have sight without fog, if force atk battle fortress will get close the target and easily shutdown by the tower, let they auto atk they will fire at incredible range that tower cant touch
Put 5 of the same infantry into one and get the power of 6. When you carry 5 GIs inside, the damage against all targets is insane. Especially against structures, it makes Apocs and Prisms look like Tank Destroyers. You need to be careful when using them against Yuri. I saw my BFs sometimes chasing after an enemy unit without me ordering them to. Now I understand when people say they require a lot of micromanagement.
Tour of Egypt back in the day that was a pure 3 Vs 3 needed help from other factions, 4 desolater and 1 seal in the BF was nice but my fave was always the demobomb, flak track filled with terrorists
@@kurzackd Crate bonuses are a small AOE (Area of effect) so yes, it affected everyone that's near the crate which is why it's always important to have many of your units surround a crate since it might give instant promotions, movement speed buff or firepower buff like in the video :).

The combination I tend to do with a platoon of Battle Fortresses is 2 GIs, 2 Guardian GIs, and a Navy SEAL as a sort of all-rounder. The GIs tend to do better damage against buildings and okay against tanks, the Guardian GIs rip through tanks even with just 2, of them and the Navy SEAL rips through any infantry along the way. Maybe a bit overkill and I could just equip one of the BF with a Navy SEAL and load either an additional GI or Guardian GI with the other, but I expect to lose a few BFs along the way so yeah. My favorite mixed combo would be either a Virus or Sniper, Guardian GIs, and Tesla Troopers.
you need the seals inside BF to eliminate the russian spider drones . them pesky drones always wreck havoc to my tanks when playing with my pals. so 2 seals + 3 guardian GIs would do the trick/

Not sure if you tested this in another video, but if you load Tesla Troopers into a Battle Fortress, they will power up a nearby Tesla Coil from inside.
You can see how fast an Apoc is going down with Gis inside. A Rhino Tank would go down 2 times faster while a Grizzly at about 3 times. I hope that helps a bit. :D
When units get promoted inside of a BF, does the units instant gain better firepower/range or does the BF have to deploy them to take effect. When deployed the exiting units will flash showing promotion A BF can run over Kirov? Or were those grounded?
If you have a Chrono Legionairre in a fortress, will the other units inside start targetting another hostile unit if the chrono legionairre is still removing a unit? Can the fortress move while a legionairre is working from inside?
The legionairre wil target 1 units or structure while the others unit can target others unit around the fortress its a useful stratergy when your attacking a fortified base by putting a legionaire inside so he can remove the denfensive structure while the others unit inside defend the battle fortress against others enemy units/building sadly the fortress will have to be standing still the whole time when removing the units/buildings tho
One thing you didn't test. Units inside of BF vs Units outside of BF, cause I thought units inside will also have a bit more bite by something like 20% attack power bonus in addition to range. Should use GGIs or GIs or anything that doesn't quite One Shot Infantry like SEALS or Tanya. Cause' IIRC on the base RulesMD file which I still have: OpenToppedRangeBonus=2;bonuses for troops shooting from open topped transport OpenToppedDamageMultiplier=1.2
Also - how is it possible, that the damage of an unit garrisoned inside is not affected, yet 1 Seal can instakill a terror drone, whereas on its own it's hopeless?
Can you test battle fortresses with all infantry types? Please include special infantry made available by spying battle labs: psi commando, chrono commando, chrono ivan and etc My favorite might be Tesla trooper battle fortresses. Many nasty zaps!
Video aside, I’m trying to play RA2 and Yuri’s revenge on my pc, but I have problems everytime I try to play YR. i patched it and placed a file in the games data folder to stop the game having weird colours and squishing and even have it in compatibility mode to windows XP service pack 3, but every so often it’ll have this weird glitch where I can see origin flashing in then suddenly it’ll freeze for a brief moment. Anyone know how to fix this?

1 desolator, 4 tesla troopers the desolator has superior rate of fire compared to the sniper or virus and less expensive than the SEAL, the tesla troopers have superior anti-infantry, anti-armor, and anti-structure although has abyssmal rate of fire but compensates for firepower capabilities. To maximize in getting 4 tesla troopers for the price of 2 capture a Yuri base and build a cloning vat. Also best force compostion with battle fortresses for Allied: 10 battle fortress with 1 sniper and 4 guardian GI each and 10 prism tanks. For Soviets also 10 battle fortress with 1 desolator and 4 tesla trooper each and 12 apocalpyse tanks or 24 rhino tanks. For Yuri also 10 battle fortress with 1 virus and 4 initiates each with 12 magnetrons and 10 floating disc.

I always tried to use this set up in battle fortreces (campaign): Seal, Yuri clone, chronotrooper, and the rest 2 defence GI. In this confuguration is propably the most unpenetrable unit in the game.

Don't need the Navy Seal tbh. 2 GIs kill infantry rapidly. You'll face more vehicles than infantry at high level play.

Not sure if you tested this in another video, but if you load Tesla Troopers into a Battle Fortress, they will power up a nearby Tesla Coil from inside.

You can see how fast an Apoc is going down with Gis inside. A Rhino Tank would go down 2 times faster while a Grizzly at about 3 times.

When units get promoted inside of a BF, does the units instant gain better firepower/range or does the BF have to deploy them to take effect. When deployed the exiting units will flash showing promotion

Units can't be promoted inside a Battle Fortress. You need to promote them first and then put them inside.

If you have a Chrono Legionairre in a fortress, will the other units inside start targetting another hostile unit if the chrono legionairre is still removing a unit? Can the fortress move while a legionairre is working from inside?
The legionairre wil target 1 units or structure while the others unit can target others unit around the fortress its a useful stratergy when your attacking a fortified base by putting a legionaire inside so he can remove the denfensive structure while the others unit inside defend the battle fortress against others enemy units/building sadly the fortress will have to be standing still the whole time when removing the units/buildings tho
The battle fortress can move yes and the rest units will be attacking other targets but not the same.
It can move within chrono legionaire weapon range while chrono legionaire erasing the unit or structure without breaking the process.
1 sniper, 2 GIs, 2 guardians. Best combo in the game, no disagreement accepted.

One thing you didn't test. Units inside of BF vs Units outside of BF, cause I thought units inside will also have a bit more bite by something like 20% attack power bonus in addition to range. Should use GGIs or GIs or anything that doesn't quite One Shot Infantry like SEALS or Tanya. Cause' IIRC on the base RulesMD file which I still have:
OpenToppedRangeBonus=2;bonuses for troops shooting from open topped transport
OpenToppedDamageMultiplier=1.2
Also - how is it possible, that the damage of an unit garrisoned inside is not affected, yet 1 Seal can instakill a terror drone, whereas on its own it's hopeless?

Whem I get bored I use 4 veteran tesla troopers and 1 veteran GI in BF and then I just easely destroy any base in a couple of seconds

Video aside, I’m trying to play RA2 and Yuri’s revenge on my pc, but I have problems everytime I try to play YR. i patched it and placed a file in the games data folder to stop the game having weird colours and squishing and even have it in compatibility mode to windows XP service pack 3, but every so often it’ll have this weird glitch where I can see origin flashing in then suddenly it’ll freeze for a brief moment. Anyone know how to fix this?

Tesla trooper: anti-infantry, anti-armor, anti-structure = anti-surface, no wonder the battle fortress was given to the allieds if it was given to the soviets it would make the faction op and render the tesla tank redundant.
Will I make practical use of the knowledge gained watching this video? No. Am I glad I watched the video? Totally! 😂 Indeed, that 5 Boris BF is crazy. Just as well it'd be practically impossible to make it in a match I guess.
The majority of pro players don't know about the upgraded units inside making the difference, not the BF itself
The strat i used to do is add 4 guardian gis and 1 seal, its broken

My top 3 are (all units at highest rank):
1.) 1 seal, 4 guardians
2.) 1 seal, 2 chrono legionnaire, 2 guardians
3.) 1 seal, 4 tesla trooper
what do you think is the best battle fortress combo?
1 desolator, 4 tesla troopers the desolator has superior rate of fire compared to the sniper or virus and less expensive than the SEAL, the tesla troopers have superior anti-infantry, anti-armor, and anti-structure although has abyssmal rate of fire but compensates for firepower capabilities. To maximize in getting 4 tesla troopers for the price of 2 capture a Yuri base and build a cloning vat.
Also best force compostion with battle fortresses for Allied: 10 battle fortress with 1 sniper and 4 guardian GI each and 10 prism tanks. For Soviets also 10 battle fortress with 1 desolator and 4 tesla trooper each and 12 apocalpyse tanks or 24 rhino tanks. For Yuri also 10 battle fortress with 1 virus and 4 initiates each with 12 magnetrons and 10 floating disc.

I always tried to use this set up in battle fortreces (campaign):
Seal, Yuri clone, chronotrooper, and the rest 2 defence GI.
In this confuguration is propably the most unpenetrable unit in the game.

I always enjoyed filling a fortress with snipers and kamikaze into the enemy, or park it near enemy slave miners.
