I have to say, I think my favourite detail of this Freeze design is a super minor one but the way his coolant tank or filter or whatever it is dangles on his back like the straps are loose and don’t quite fit. It gives the design this slight air of slapdash ingenuity, like it really is a bunch of equipment buckled to a thermal jumpsuit or whatever he’s wearing, thrown together out of what he had in the lab.
Bullock is a good cop, but he acts without thinking or asking questions. This shows how that can lead to unintended outcomes because he couldn't stop to ask "what is going on?"
I love how you make all of Batman's villains feel legitimately tragic. Most of the time their backstory's just feel like a reason for them to exist, then everything else is just them being evil because they're the bad guys. But I could easily buy that the version of Mr. Freeze you present here is doing everything for his wife, Killer Moth feels like someone who's been chewed up and spat out by a corrupt system that cares more about results than the people it was meant to help, and Riddler really feels like he's wholly driven and consumed by a desire to prove that he's smarter and better than everyone else.
Depends on the writer honestly. One Mr. Freeze moment i recall being both brutal yet interestingly humane was when the Gotham MCU(Major Crimes Unit) had gotten bad intel so two Detectives tried to bust his lab. He killed one but froze the others hands leaving him with a recovery time and a message that boils down to 'we take much for granted do alot without thinking until we squander it and wish we still had it.' Funny enough that maxim does save the cop later from another villain
Beautiful animatic. Really hammers in that the lesson Victor could never grasp is that something isn't beautiful because it lasts, it's beautiful because you make the most out of the time you have. He ended up losing more time with Nora than he would have if he just accepted the cards they were dealt and spent his time with Nora instead of trying to preserve her
@@spongeintheshoe Oh it wasn't a terrible one, I'm just saying Victor got tunnel vision and obsessed over the idea against Nora's wishes, both isolating himself from her for nights on end, and pushing her away by the end. It seemed that Nora didn't agree at the end because she wanted to, but because she knew Victor wouldn't let it go and she figured she'd make him happy since she accepted she was likely going to die anyway
Bullock was always a brute and a pig. But.. He's also one of the only truly "good" cops in Gotham. Even Batman respects him ( though Bullock will never know). I wonder how the guilt from his actions here would affect him? This is an interesting twist. Good work.

The emphasis you put on touch in Nora and Freeze’s relationship makes he scene when he burns himself grabbing onto her chamber in the end more heartbreaking. He can’t ever feel her warmth again. Meant to comment on this one forever ago but I guess it slipped my mind. I know I just commented a little bit ago on your Riddler video that it might be my favorite, but idk man rewatching this again it's hard to tell. I think all your stuff is just my favorites. I like how Nora kinda contrasts Freeze here, with her fiery ginger hair and the fierceness about her. It makes her feel like she stands as her own character, while also making her and Freeze's relationship even more compelling. When she's frozen it really feels like Freeze has lost a kind of light in his life, any firey emotion gone to just cold determination to get her back. Also showcasing how Freeze's efforts to keep her alive meant he had less time with Nora was a really nice but depressing touch lol.
Adding Bullock to the backstory was really good!!! Finally a villain that strikes a personal chord with him!! And of course the song choice is unmatched as always :D

I had a depressive episode some weeks ago, i decided to give up, things felt like they were never going to work out "you always knew it was too much to you to handle, should've never even tried" my exact thoughts, my best friends in the world, people i love from the bottom of my heart, tried to sheer me up, we went to watch The Batman, we hated it, then we decided to watch some actually good DC flicks, the ones that are animated, mask of the Phantasm was the first, (Phantasm is my favorite villainess btw) we watched like 15 movies in one week, in between those movies was Batman Subzero, my favorite as a kid as well. It isnt as good as i remembered, bad cgi, some cheesy dialogue, Batman himself is kinda useless and barely appears in this movie, but there was still a lot of good, one single scene remains as good as i remember (actually even better now), one scene untouched by time, fronzen forever, the one scene by the ending, Freeze tearing up and smiling over the news of Nora, she being cured of that disease that ruined their lives, Freeze walks alway smiling, such a tragic and cold villain having such a warm and wholesome ending to his journey. Of course the New Adventures ruins this ending, but it didnt matter to me, it was a single, simple but perfect moment that incapsulates everything i love about the character, this stories, what i love about storytelling godammit, that broke me, brought me back to my ambitions, more than ever now, i feel im doing what makes me feel the most alive, i have made people cry with my writing, moved someone emotionally, that needs to acount to something, no one cries over something worthless. I feel humbled with this life story of yours, I dont know what to say. Im so happy that I could do something that resonate so much with ya! (PS. I personally loved The Batman but I am interested in what you didnt liked about it, I like to hear differing opinions)
@@adamf.charles5857 Im happy that you're happy, friend. i can only hope my works can resonate so much with someone as yours had with me right now. ill be very happy to watch more of your animatics. about the Batman, it particuliary ticked many of my "what i dont like in a movie" boxes to me to like it, even as its own thing. The writers didn't seem to have a well versed understanding on the characters and the alternate versions created for the movie didn't get me invested at all (for instance, the Tim Burton movies aren't that well versed as well, but i still love them as alternate version and think they stand on their own) The detective psychological thriller part of the movie felt uninspired and unfocused to me, not that clever or thought out as most people seem to think. Batman felt more like a parody of himself than a proper representation of his character and values, an emo rich boy with issues and thats about it until the very end of the movie. He ain't particularly inteligent or skilled, he lacks the mystic thats essencial to his character, he doesn't even fell very ninja-esque or that intimidating, i know this is a more grounded take on the character, but having your character whine and fail constantly isn't more realistic its just patethic, they also completly misunderstood the "I am Vengence, I am the Night" speech, Batman was never about avenging himself, he was about making sure no kid has ever to suffer like he did, to fight darkness with darkness and own your fears not them owning you, thats something the writers seem to have confused, if Batman was about only avenging his parents he would pretty much be a Punisher with an funny costume and thats it He also fails to save the city from the flood and fails to beat the Riddler and probably let him kill many people as a result and the movie makes it seem it was all worth it because... Batman learned a leason? a Batman who wasn't particuliary likable or competent the whole movie? also the excuse of he being inexperienced doesn't really work as this is year 3 not year 1, one thing is being inexperienced being incompetent As for Riddler, i absolutly hated his protayal, which sucks cus i wanted to see a proper Riddler done justice, his just an crazy terrorist, his plan isn't particuliary creative or inspired, and he lacks all the energy, charm and condecending attitude of an proper Ed Nygma, the interogation scene was kinda cringey felt like an knock off of the Dark Knight's Joker, my friend that suffers from several mental illnesses thought the scene was quite offensive as well, as makes it seem that all crazy people act the same, sociopaths are generally calm and collected also the political message the Riddler tried to push was kinda lame and forced, an politicaly motivated villain is interesting when were given depth but his motivation felt superficial and shallow to me Riddler directly killing people is kinda stupid, he literally is more of a ninja than Batman in those scenes, Riddler should be more of Jigsaw type killer than a Jason Voorhees, you know? Death traps with clever logical puzzles rather than stabing people. Your take on the Riddler is fucking perfect as well, everything i wanted but didn't get out of that movie, an atention seeking psychotic genius with an love for puzzles Catwoman being Falcone's daughter felt to me like it took away from her character, she being nobody is an essencial part of her appeal to me at least (hate the BTAS version btw) Summerising what i love about Batman stories is the balance between extremes, grounded reality and the fantastical, horror and humor, darkness and hope, this movie felt it leaned to much into each side at a time and some it barely touched where other adaptations could keep a realistic protayal of the characters and world while still keeping true to the characters core concepts This movie feels like an desconstruction of an Batman who never existed outside popular opinion. (sorry for my bad English btw, not my native language, i admit i was kinda sleepy when i wrote my first comment lol)
Fuck... cried damn buckets. Honestly this only solidifies my opinion that dr freeze is best as tragic vilian. May not be that way from the start but is so good. It just doesn't work for me all in all while I get that doing same thing forever is not as fun but sometimes some iterations of character are just best for. them

Your animatic, your fantastic animatic incapsulates the exact thing i love abot Mr Freeze as a character, tragedy, love, dispair, hope, your take on his and Nora's relantionship brought me to tears, without one single line of dialogue, the song selection is phenomenal fits like a glove, the song has "a cold feeling to it" its on my playlist now lol.
Thank you so much for this, i have watched all the other animatics you made as well, all fantastic, your vision is fresh but keeps the core of each character intact, would love to see an animated series with your designs, Joker looks specially great like holy fuck, he looks better than in the recent comics, but really thank you so much for this, you are very talented and i wish you the best of luck in your future projects
The writers didn't seem to have a well versed understanding on the characters and the alternate versions created for the movie didn't get me invested at all (for instance, the Tim Burton movies aren't that well versed as well, but i still love them as alternate version and think they stand on their own)
The detective psychological thriller part of the movie felt uninspired and unfocused to me, not that clever or thought out as most people seem to think.
Batman felt more like a parody of himself than a proper representation of his character and values, an emo rich boy with issues and thats about it until the very end of the movie.
He ain't particularly inteligent or skilled, he lacks the mystic thats essencial to his character, he doesn't even fell very ninja-esque or that intimidating, i know this is a more grounded take on the character, but having your character whine and fail constantly isn't more realistic its just patethic, they also completly misunderstood the "I am Vengence, I am the Night" speech, Batman was never about avenging himself, he was about making sure no kid has ever to suffer like he did, to fight darkness with darkness and own your fears not them owning you, thats something the writers seem to have confused, if Batman was about only avenging his parents he would pretty much be a Punisher with an funny costume and thats it
He also fails to save the city from the flood and fails to beat the Riddler and probably let him kill many people as a result and the movie makes it seem it was all worth it because... Batman learned a leason? a Batman who wasn't particuliary likable or competent the whole movie? also the excuse of he being inexperienced doesn't really work as this is year 3 not year 1, one thing is being inexperienced being incompetent
As for Riddler, i absolutly hated his protayal, which sucks cus i wanted to see a proper Riddler done justice, his just an crazy terrorist, his plan isn't particuliary creative or inspired, and he lacks all the energy, charm and condecending attitude of an proper Ed Nygma, the interogation scene was kinda cringey felt like an knock off of the Dark Knight's Joker, my friend that suffers from several mental illnesses thought the scene was quite offensive as well, as makes it seem that all crazy people act the same, sociopaths are generally calm and collected
also the political message the Riddler tried to push was kinda lame and forced, an politicaly motivated villain is interesting when were given depth but his motivation felt superficial and shallow to me
Riddler directly killing people is kinda stupid, he literally is more of a ninja than Batman in those scenes, Riddler should be more of Jigsaw type killer than a Jason Voorhees, you know? Death traps with clever logical puzzles rather than stabing people.
Your take on the Riddler is fucking perfect as well, everything i wanted but didn't get out of that movie, an atention seeking psychotic genius with an love for puzzles
Catwoman being Falcone's daughter felt to me like it took away from her character, she being nobody is an essencial part of her appeal to me at least (hate the BTAS version btw)
Summerising what i love about Batman stories is the balance between extremes, grounded reality and the fantastical, horror and humor, darkness and hope, this movie felt it leaned to much into each side at a time and some it barely touched where other adaptations could keep a realistic protayal of the characters and world while still keeping true to the characters core concepts
This movie feels like an desconstruction of an Batman who never existed outside popular opinion.
(sorry for my bad English btw, not my native language, i admit i was kinda sleepy when i wrote my first comment lol)
:,)
This needs more views! The song choice, color choice and everything else is just amazing!
Fuck... cried damn buckets. Honestly this only solidifies my opinion that dr freeze is best as
tragic vilian. May not be that way from the start but is so good. Also I think his relationship with Nora work best like this aka they love each other. Not the biggest fan of making Victor delusional and Nora not existing/hating him. It just doesn't work for me all in all while I get that doing same thing forever is not as fun but sometimes some iterations of character are just best for. them
Show this to Warner Brothers to bring this to the sequel to Matt Reeve's the Batman, this song will be perfect to use for the transformation of victor fries into Mr. Freeze.
My casting choice should be Alfred Molina.
I love the character design
its only those who have nothing more to lose that are most dangerous to the world
You know why I’m hearing this song more often now? I feel I would have noticed it before but I’m hearing it more and more recently a couple weeks after I watched this.
Also great work love your au music video stuff.
This song was in Stranger Things Season 4 and world went "Oh wow, Kate Bush exists!"
@@adamf.charles5857 oh thanks. Keep up the good work
@@adamf.charles5857 kinda thought it had something to do with this at first cause I hadn’t heard it before this and it has decent amount of views. Hope the trend gives you some more you deserve em
My heart is melting, that's how much I love this! TvT
It’s basically the origin story of Mr. Freeze.
Well, yes, you dont mess with something already perfect :U
Guess you have to point there.
i've literally just been watching all your animatics i can't believe how well made they are
This is pure art and I wish people would get as experimental with Batman as you do!!!!!!!!
0:38 I immediately thought Edalyn Clawthorne in her 30s.
Okey!
I love all your videos as they are l such great works of art. The Moth one is still my fav, as i love Drury, but the others are also such wonderful things! Thank you, very, very much for making them.
look, I know we had a victor freeze already in the worst batman movie ever made, but I really feel like we could have GREAT story with him in another movie give him one more try Hollywood
IM GETTING TIRED OF SEEING THE CLOWN ALL THE DAM TIME
All I can say is WOW! This was awesome, and gotta admit I got a little bit teary eyed lol
My work here is done, then >:)
@@adamf.charles5857 Not Yet Charles....
It will be once we have an Animatic for Oswald and Basil (You're ship has made my dead heart happy)

Thats concerning :)
WAIT YOUD FRIDGE HER 😂
When I first watched this, it blew me.
great animation! I returned here to see if there were any comments about the songs inclusion in stranger things. saw a couple. hope you continue to be successful! these are always good!
Jestem zaszczycony ^^
He's burdened by the pain of his love. He can't bear to see her slip away. He does whatever he can to try and help her. He can't find a way to fix her condition, but he can stop the clock. He's so burdened by his mistakes. He wants to HELP but he can't. He's frozen. Stuck in a place where he cannot move, cannot act, cannot save anyone. And that pain makes him lash out in cold anger.
Absolutely phenomenal work, Charles. This is really well done.
Wow. Just, wow. That scene where she's writing out her will on the table and it switches to him working on it hits hard.
And I can't fault Bollocks this time - that did not look good.
This guy is pretty good ngl
Thanks to you and this beautiful animatic, I can say that I liked this song before Stranger Things made it a huge fad.
These are great
Another phenomenal animatic! You keep knocking them out of the park.
Awesome! I like this very much. Thank you
You know, if they ever do another live action of Batman prequel with Mr Freeze, I think Sadie Sink should play Nora. I mean with this song and the fact this Nora kinda looks like her, it would be perfect.
Felicidades me hiciste llorar
This is absolutely fantastic!!!! You are incredibly underrated!!!!
I have no words!
Absolutely beautiful
Spot on on the Bataman Villains I would look forward on more! Will you do Mad Hatter or Harley Quin next?😄
It’s amazing his follicles weren’t cryogenically singed as that would’ve completed his transformation although that is hardly an excuse for me to use
COME ON MAN I HAVE AN EXAM TODAY YOU CANT DO THIS TO ME NOWWWWWW AUGH
Such a good video...Comment to boost the algorithm btw, but I think you hit it with the Riddler vid X3
Yeah I am astounded still about it xD
Fantastic
These are so underrated. Keep up the great work. I think you will make it big
2:48 i feel done at this point
Charles You magnificent bastard 💖
I’m blown away woah
Always thought they should make a Mr freeze solo movie
Very nice
Die for you by The Weeknd fits mr freeze too
omg so good
+1 suuub
This eill probably pop up more due to Stranger Things lol
Love
This song is sad with the context mr. Freezes story
I wonder what Music you have for Batman Himself. I know you're focusing on the villains but I think Animal I Have Become would hit for Bruce if you ever make one.
Wow wow wow wow wow. holy shit.
7686 views... too few, the algorithm has not been nice to you.
How did you predict this songs revival
