Cool to see someone discover these guys. They have so many great and absolutely insane songs. "Burn Piano Island Burn" (from the album by the same name) was probably their first "hit", but it's every bit as weird and extreme as this song. They're one of my favorite bands for how creative and abrasive they are, and underneath all the screaming and frenetic instrumentals there is actually great songwriting. Definitely a unique and underappreciated band.
Thanks for listening to the blood brothers! I always thought their band name was generic too, but its crazy how original the music is. And the songs are more structured like stories, their lyrics are often written in script form, so that informs the song structures which is cool. The most noticeable part of the band is definitely that one of the singers, johnny whitney, has a super high pitched singing voice- his falsetto is noticeable so its crazy to think some of those high notes are from the diaphragm. Its like he's whistling with his stomach, lolll.
Great band. Been listening to these guys since their debut. Two male vocalists. Their earlier stuff was a bit more aggressive and angular overall. Leaning into the sounds of bands like sikth & Dillinger escape plan, at the drive in.

Dont ever expect that you can predict anything these guys do. I think they did everything to make people uncomfortable lol. once you think you know whats going to happen they sneak behind you and kick you in the ass then go around and kick you in the face when youre down lol
Not many songs have time changes from 3/4 to 4/4 so frequently throughout. Makes it tough to grasp at first. This band is definitely an acquired taste lol.

Yep. For all the abrasiveness there are some very smart pop sensibilities supporting a lot of their work.
