In the 1990’s when I did my ms and PhD in USA, all Indian students studied with scholarships. They either got research or teaching assistantships. The only people who did bs degrees were kids or rich people of the level of Tata, Birla or Ambani. Education loans changed all that. It is debatable if it is for the better or for the worse as it is doubtful that the us can give jobs to so many people as outsourcing and AI progress rapidly. There are only a few h1b visas also.

Thanks for the informative video. It gave me a new perspective on studying abroad. I think it would be beneficial for Indian students to consider coming to Finland for their education. Here, vocational school is free for everyone, regardless of citizenship, and higher education is comparatively affordable compared to competing countries like the USA, Canada, the UK, and Australia. Additionally, all universities in Finland offer courses in English, and there is already a significant community of Indian students here who have had positive experiences.

From this video, it seems that fully funded Masters in USA isn't very much common in India, and most of students study in usa with self funding. I am from Bangladesh and here most of the students from any reputed university goes to USA in fully funded Masters or phd program and this is the most common scenario here. Very few students here study in the US with self funding. But I don’t know why is this difference in India and my country.

@@YudiJ Actually here, most of the students from top universities in Bangladesh aim for fully funded masters or phd, and they go to us only if they get full funding(for most of the case). And, unlike India, most of the undergrad students here aim for phd degree in US instead of masters degree as almost 95% phd programs are fully funded. The reason is that the economic condition of our country's individual doesn’t allow us to pursue a self funded masters in Usa ( obviously there are always exceptions).Here, not getting any funding is assumed to be a rejection from university. But how most of the students study in the US in self funding, as far as I know the economic condition in India is almost the same as Bangladesh?
