It’s a stainless steel inlay. Info on blade HQ…. Kinda surprising that they used stainless steel when CF would be IMO the way to go. Just got mine and the action seems ridiculously HEAVY. Tears up my thumb but you didn’t mention that at all…. Weak thumbs?
Mine came in yesterday. I love it. It's not a knife I would generally carry since I prefer a single edge so I can use my thumb to control the blade. But it's still a lot of fun.
I bought one of these as soon as they came out and absolutely love it. It’s been in rotation with my deadlock model C and various Microtechs
Other thoughts: mine is a production version and the centering is perfect. I also have had zero misfires. Purchased mine from NCblade and the description says “stainless steel bubble inlay”. As you stated multiple times, they probably made a few tweaks between the prototype and production versions.

Today is 2-13-2023 and I purchased my Cleric 2 about 3 ish weeks ago and I freaking love it!! The line on mine (dagger) is STRAIGHT UP right down the center on both sides. This is an excellent knife and actually swapped out my first line EDC blade from my Halo VI to my cleric 2. LoL very happy with it!!
I have my Cleric II and its great. The line is straight down the middle. I would highly recommend one! 👍🤠
I bought one right after they came up on eknives. The blade grind is exactly right. Also, it has the best pocket clip I have ever found on a knife.
Two things I've noticed after I bought mine;
-The inserts are stainless so it adds a bit of weight. Aluminum would made a better choice.
- The pocket clip,(although nice looking) is pretty much useless. You can't even clip it onto the pocket.
I just bought my first Cleric 2 in a tanto from EKnives. Can't wait to get it. 😀
Yeah a lot of the protos didn't have great grind lines and tip was not lined up (I had number 42 I believe it was), but I got a retail version and it's 100% straight and great quality.
As long as you dropped a linkarooski for the cleretic, im happy.

I just took some knifes over to my Uncle now I'm ok with putting a edge on but he is ridiculous Good & fast zero wasted motion . My otf double edge I had no idea how dull it was . But I will learn .Happy Turkey Day
Yes, my thoughts also. Those narrow, double edged knives are tricky to do well, and I had to re-profile mine also. Took a freaky edge, however. Just don't remove more material from tip than absolutely necessary.
@@litsci4690 Lit I'm telling ya mine must have been done late on a friday and the worker didnt give A F which really is a shame I guess it's like this across the board be it a vehicle or knife some workers dont care and others do just luck of the draw . I dont mind spending but its gotta be right . Even if a company is banging out 1000s do it right ! Peace
I recently picked up the Manticore S (Bowie, ELMAX) as an EDC around the house and love it. I normally go for much larger knives, but for around the house something smaller is preferable. That pocket clip from Heretic is what pushed it over anything from Microtech for me.
That pocket they use is god awful and not reversible. Microtech for the win hands down
Whats up MC? I loved this knife the moment I saw it and purchased it right away. It is indeed a prototype but the grind lines are straight 🔥. Looks like I got a little lucky though.
I have the battle worn production version and neither side of the blade is centered, sadly. That being said, I love the knife so far.
I have a Microtech Venomtech I got years ago. It has a 5.5" dagger blade. Comes with a Kydex sheath for the knife because the blade doesn't fully retract into the handle.
To answer the question, I have a Cleric 2 and the dagger grind on mine looks good and centered.
Maaaan I would love an OTF! If only I had a friend who was confident disassembling and could be convinced to go to the post office several times, if you know what I mean.... 😂
Well thanks a lot MC. Just looked at my blade and one side the centerline is off!!
The grip texture reminds me of the underside of a CRUNCH bar
I bought a purple one with two tone black blade and hardware. The only thing I struggle with is clipping it onto my pocket. The tip of the clip is not beveled enough to slide it in without pulling out on the clip. It's a nice looking pocket clip otherwise.

My production manticore x has an uneven top grind too. Need to pick up a cleric ii.
The original Makora's were this big, if not bigger. I had one at one time. Cool knife. I'd be into getting one fo these.
If I don't NEED to be lvl 100 Ninja and have a pass, then why did I spend all that time GETTING a lvl 100 Ninja pass.
How durable is the blade with it being as narrow as it is? Does it seem a bit flimsy or really sturdy when deployed? Is yours in the video the all black tactical?
Nice. I'd be interested if it wasn't double edged considering my Sebenza, FACT, and GTR40 are all 4" knives. Just can't go back to sub 4" knives for daily use unless I am legally obligated, at which point I just bring my Rat cause it's $30 and I can throw it away of the law tries to catch up.
Slightly sad to say mine does have a bit of an uneven grind but given that it's the battleworn version it kinda fits.
Where might one purchase the otf gladius?
I want this. The Combat Troodon is too fat. This is like an Ultratech XL. Can’t wait for my LKS to get these.
For that price it would need to be prefect.

I have a short story about my Combat Troodon. I was visiting with my in-laws and my wife was cutting open a package. my father-in-law grabbed the knife and deployed it into the picnic table. After it went off the rails he said this is a cheap knife. my wife argued with him that it was a $500 knife. he said that if it was a real one, it would have went straight through the table. this leaves me to believe that this old man believes that his hand is stronger than the 2 x 6 he was trying to stick the knife all the way through. not by hammering the knife through the table but just by deploying the blade. just then, the voice of Forrest Gump whispered in my ear, stupid as stupid does. I was able to reach out and put my wife in a tight, hold to keep her from using the glass breaker to rearrange his face. I believe this is the primary use for the glass breaker on all Microtechs. A lanyard would’ve been really useful at this point as well. my wife and her stepdad never let a argument die. I grab the knife and put it in my pocket before my wife could use the DNA extractor on her stepdad. this feeble old bastard almost caught the wrong end of my wife’s theory. thank God I received a minor in psychology from community college. I was able to talk my wife down enough to get her into the car and leave. therapy takes the win.
3 for 3 on Heretics messing up the grind. Really want to love the brand, but qc needs an improvement. This one, manticore X, and E. The E is a recurve and is really f'd up
I come from the cnc world and things you can't even see that doesn't effect function gets rejected if it's out of spec, normally one half- two thousandths. I wouldn't be able to live with a blade I can see its off from across a room... it would piss me off.
