Since moving from Horizon West to Clermont, I find myself missing it more each day. While I hope Clermont continues to grow and develop, I can definitely see myself returning to Horizon West in the near future. Also, I think I was behind you at Chick-fil-A yesterday! 😂
I remember 2007 when this area didn’t even exist, Good times. Now it’s a headache of transplants, and yes traffic is bad even in the middle of the day lol. btw that surf complex plan is where a landfill/dump was previously till 2017 good luck with soil compaction 😂
I was in very early at Hamlin (9 yrs ago now) and decided 3 yrs ago to move closer to downtown WG. Too many promises on the Hamlin Retail center. I was sold on being able to take our boats up to Hamlin and enjoy a bunch of really cool and unique restaurants in and around that waterfront area. Now, when I go back and visit my friends, I still can not believe how long Hamlin is taking and, maybe even worse than that, what the final retail/restaurant choices actually end up being. It is too bad but I still must say we enjoyed our time over in Hamlin but really love being able to take a golf cart less than a mile to downtown Winter Garden and the small city downtown vibe we can be a part of.
I live at the Winding Bay community (Ovation area). I feel like our community is forgotten because it is tiny (I hope it stays that way). But what I really want to know, Ken...is what will be built in front of it (that whole space entering the Northlake community). Also, old permits showed commercial places in the Flemings/Avalon intersection. Any news regarding that?
I'm just curious... so many eateries and cute places to shop are popping up in Winter Garden, but how are the locals who will work at these shops going to afford to stay at those minimum wage jobs? The rents and house sales prices within a 40 minute driving radius are outside the budget of someone who makes less than $14-$17/ hr. Any thoughts? Seems to me that these restaurant owners may find it tough to keep affordable help.
those kinds of jobs used to/should be for younger people starting out, part time or full time… stepping stones to higher paid, eventually. Not meant for people not wanting to move to next levels.
I think the road connecting Cleremont to Flamingo Crossings (and, by extension Disney) is a great idea, but won’t that put tremendous stress on an already crowded Western Way? They must have something in mind for that, huh? Near future or long term plan?
what are they building behind the 429 on schofield rd I don't think its the surfer park , because the signs for that are closer to avalon, I had heard a valencia college is that true
Horizon West was cool when they started building it (2005-2015 or so), but everything they have built since then looks EXACTLY the same to the point where its unsettling.
Horizon West, though part of Orange County, uses a Winter Garden mailing address. The ongoing development in the area, including the regional park slated for completion by 2040, is frustratingly slow. In the meantime, the community faces rapid growth, leading to overwhelming traffic congestion and a proliferation of apartments, chain restaurants, and an abundance of dental offices and banks. While some local spots like NYBP offer great drinks, the quality of food, often described as microwaved, leaves much to be desired. Traffic issues are particularly concerning around Seidel Road near the high school, where parents often drop off their children in unsafe spots on the street. Tragically, two students were struck by cars last school year. Given these challenges, it's no wonder that one of the commissioners is campaigning with a "slow the growth" slogan. Many residents in the 34787 area endure long commutes, with some homes sitting on the market longer than ever. The community is growing rapidly, but infrastructure and thoughtful planning are lagging behind, leaving many frustrated.
Love Lindsay! She helped us with our purchase and we'd highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell.
She’s great!!
Aw thank you, Zach! It was so fun helping you and Marie! :)
Thanks Ken for keeping us informed. It is appreciated! 😊
My pleasure!

Hamlin Elementary FAST scores higher than all of Orange County. Awesome schools in this area!
Awesome video!
Winter Garden needs a Whole Foods or Fresh Market bad. No more Publix
So bad. Here's hoping!
I'd think it would CRUSH it on the Windermere side of Horizon West.
@@kenpozek how about rumored Hunters Creek and Minneola???? Whole Foods???? Hunter Creek already has a fresh market 🙌
All Horizon West is missing is a Trader Joe’s 😢
I know, right?!
I requested it with them 3 times over the past 2 years to no avail.

Horizon West unfortunately never worked out. It might be the end for the community. I heard of the students, tragic stuff.
Is this Chatgtp?
@@kenpozek bully? Sorry truth stinks
@@YesDHawk1313 not sure why me asking if you got that from chetgtp makes me a bully? I didn’t say you were wrong. I was saying it sounded like AI.
That’s not our Lakeside Village! No Kohl’s or Belk here!!
Needs townhomes in the upper $200s low $300s for us who single income and sick of renting.
yuck. just more traffic going through the town of windermere. infrastructure, please!
