Thanks for the review, I took a TFO BVK and Mangrove Both 8wt to Alaska this summer for a couple of weeks great rods . Will have to add one of these for next years trip . People who do not own a TFO rod and are thinking about purchasing one don’t be fooled by what people say about them ( they make a great backup rod ) that is just not true they are a great rod period .
Thanks for watching. You'd have to contact the folks at the shop thoguh for information like that. They are happy to help. You can e-mail or call them.
Picked up a 6wt for a truck rod. Compared to my Thomas and Thomas Exocett, this rod makes you work! It’s not a lazy caster’s smooth stroke rod. You need a good haul to get the performance out of the rod that you expect. It’s definitely not for everyone as it is a tank of a rod. I wish I had picked up a blitz for a little better feel and easier loading.
You summed it up quite well Flip palette and TFO did an excellent job on the designed and build I have 6 ,8 and 9 weight TFO Axiom II-X Fly Rods I would love to get my hands on the 5 weight As you mentioned best warranty on the market nothing like Shimano Loomis Limited warranty Which really sucks !!!
I have the original Axiom in 7t, the new guides are a nice upgrade, the original has a gold insert which looked awesome also. Its cool they matched the Inshore series rods color, so they will look right at home fishing the salt.
Hello there, I've seen the vids and I like this rod. I think about to buy the 6# rod. I want to fish the aspius aspius. They're about small 40 cm to big 80-90 cm. Can the 6# rod handle these guys? Better a 7#? greetings from The Netherlands and tight lines.
Thanks for watching. Please send your questions over to the folks at the shop via e-mail and they will get back to you there. They do not monitor the comments here but of course will answer your e-mail.
Best to check with the folks at the shop as they will have a mess of questions for you so as to get it right. Give them a call or shoot them an email and they will be happy to help. Thanks.
My wife just doesn't understand. Somehow she seems to think that it's possible to have too much fly fishing equipment. I have tried to disabuse her of this notion but to no avail. Soooo, I think this one's going to have to wait until I break one of my current 30 or so rods. Fortunately I can sneak fly tying stuff in the house in my back pocket. Thanks for all the great video Brian, they are both informative and entertaining.
Is Axiom ll-X , 9’ 6wt or 5wt a good choice for smallmouth creek fishing ? Being a “saltwater” rod , is this to much rod or overkill ? Is there a better choice ? I would like to find something that could do double duty as bone fish rod and fun to use as a smallmouth rod .
Would the 9ft 5wt be a good first rod for someone kinda new into fly fishing? Looking for something that would be good for multi species in the Midwest
Great video........ been wanting to try some red fish on fly.... these rods need to be in my arsenal.... (gonna have to mention this to my wife)... as she said I have too much fishing.... I didn’t know that was possible.... lol
Thanks for watching our review of the TFO Axiom II-X Fly Rod! What do you think of this rod? Comment below.

They are the #1 supplier of fly rods to the world. Much more than a "backup" rod that's for sure.
Great review. I have never tried a TFO, looks like I should pick one up.
#1 seller of fly rods in the world. They are worth having a look. Thanks for watching.
I love my 7wt TiCrX. It's fast action but not too stiff for playing fish.
How would you compare the Axiom II-X to TiCrX?

How does 5WT perform in river trout fishing? Can it throw terrestrials and eventually a dry fly?
Please contact the shop directly via e-mail or by phone and they will be happy to help and answer your questions. Thanks.
Nice rod are they recommended more for saltwater or freshwater fishing and what type of line did you have on there
You can use them for whatever you want. Brian fishes with the Flip Sight Line from Cortland. Has for 20+ years.
What's a great fly line for the axiom ll X to shoot streamers, 8wt?

At first glance I'd say that this looks just about like the best rod there ever was. Now resuming video...
It certainly ranks up there with the best.

what about the differences between this one and Redington's Crux for a 8wt rod? Considering large flies/heavier lines...
Tá Fisgado! Great question for the shop. Send them an email or better yet, give them a call. They will be happy to help. Thanks.
Bro that was my favorite 10wt rod, until hurricane Laura passes through and destroyed it. Now i can't find them for purchase
Here you go, you can purchase one right here:

What's the rubber deal you have on the reel handle?
Called a Knucklehead. They are no longer available but we are working on a new supplier. We'll let you know. Brian won't fish without them.
@@Madriveroutfitters I don't see the Knucklehead. What is it? What does it do?
Andy Cordova Yellow foam grip on Brian’s reel handle. Just a foam grip really, not much other function.
What are the differences between the Axiom II-X and Axiom II?
Please send your question over to the shop at admin@madriveroutfitters.com and they will answer you there.
