For me, it was Layton and detour noir. I got a sample of Layton and loved it, but I couldn't justify the price tag at the time. Got Detour Noir, and on my skin, I get that menthol smell. Something that the real deal never gave me. Started only spraying it on my clothes where it was much closer in smell.
Nice video. It would be nice if you could do a video about fragrances that are very similar so that we could try them and choose only one (e.g. Dior Homme Intense, Valentino Uomo Intense, and Givenchy Gentleman). So that we could avoid buying fragrances that could be consider somewhat redundant.
I’ve never tried Bentley Intense, but I’m a layering guy and I layered Bentley for Men Absolute (6 sprays) with Lattafa Woody Oud (3 sprays) and crazy compliments.
Man I remember trying Bentley intense and hating it at first. I thought it smelled like an old lady at first but after a while I started to crave it and now I love the stuff… I really like to layer it under Montblanc Individuel… it’s one of my favorites
Cedrat Boise I have heard so many times people being split about. I find it matters a lot what season you wear it. Sometimes it smells smokier and sometimes it smells sweeter. Sometimes more vanilla comes out and sometimes more general fruitiness comes out. It is really temperature dependent.
Cedrat Boise and most of the Montale and Mancera frags just don't jive with my body chemistry. It turns to mothballs when it hits mid on my skin and it's the mid that people like the most
I wore Bentley for men intense and a female coworker complimented me on it. I asked her to rate and she gave it an 8.5 out of 10. It isn’t my favorite but it fits my personality and I really like the dry down.
@@miguelmatias2549 Not really. I imagine by the time I make it to work it has made its way into the drydown. This was 6 months ago and I would actually recommend Dua Jazz or Naxos for a masculine work fragrance. Dua Jazz is just like Jazzclub but in Extrait concentration and lasts longer.

It was the same for me with Cedrat Boise Intense, but OG Cedrat Boise smelled like it wasn't even related to Intense on my skin, lighter, brighter, fresher, different from what I expected, but amazing. Maybe get a sample of the OG, I wouldn't have tried the OG if I had only had Intense at first, but luckily I got both at the same time.
I pretty much love all of the fragrances listed in this video. 😂 I love Cedrat Boise. I will be wearing Red Tobacco in the colder months. Another love it or hate fragrance, I think. 😊
I 100% agree with everything the guy said about Mercedes Benz Club Black. That was a love at first sniff for me and probably my best blind buy purchase ever.
I like the original Mercedes Benz for Men. Loads of grapefruit & bergamot. I was wearing it yesterday. Fantastic longevity. I don't really worry about projection or sillage, as those aren't the reason I wear fragrances
CEDRAT BOISE - I did not appreciate this scent at first, it wasn't my jam! Now I absolutely love it, wearing it right now, it's one of very few frags I've had multiple people ask what I was wearing so they could buy it! It's a fantastic fragrance ❤
Bleu elctrique for me.. Smells great, but I can't find the scenario for it where I won't reach for something else. I've had my bottle for a year, and I can say if I wore it more than twice. Maybe I need to try harder.
I received my L'Homme Ideal edp yesterday and I was thrown off by how feminine it smelled on the very first spray. However, after 5 mins or so it turned into this smokey dark cherry-like masculine scent that I've never smelt before. It really is growing on me to be honest. I'd say you'd have to be over 30 to appreciate its' elegance. I'd say sample it first only because it's not that cheap ($90 is what I paid) unless you got the money. I am happy with my new cologne and I can't wait to wear it this coming fall. I also think this is the perfect scent for the holidays 🎅
Tried Cedrat, thought it was just ok. Instant crush i loved. Roja Elysium isnt all that to me either. Kinda soft. Oceana, same, there been more hyped frags that haven't wowed me, but cant remember at the moment
Went in to Macy's to buy Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme. Didn't like the drydown, so I bought the OG Allure Homme Sport and love it. Terre D'Hermes EDT-loved my decant, but only like the bottle. I must have enjoyed the weaker atomizer on the decant
Ganymede is really a love it or hate it scent. Theres nothing wrong for others to be part of the hate because this is not mass appealing. But im willing to bet someone who doesnt like it will eventually dip their toes into niche quality perfumes and revisiting Ganymede will make them a believer especially with the best mineral note in perfumery
This happened to me too with Layton and Layton exclusif.. 7:59 I go back and forth with both and like both now.. I heard maceration with frags actually change it alittle or what not idk. Either way. It’s grown on me and I like it
I wear DHI to the toilet, in a train, on a house, and even with my eggs. This is my top 5 frags to wear everywhere. I get so many compliments each time. Thanks Ash, it's a must have.
Sometimes I wonder if I got a bad bottle or something. I have a Missoni Wave and a Bentley for Men Intense that just don't smell how people describe them.
I'm still not convinced Missoni Wave is worth the hype. Missoni Parfum Pour Homme is, though. My Bentley for Men Intense sample didn't impress me either. I think it's well done, it's just definitely not blind buy worthy and definitely not for me.
Nearly everyone else loves AFNAN Turathi Blue but even after a longer time of wearing it, i personally don't like it. The opening is too harsh for me. It's more like trying to make the bottle finally empty
Overhyped fragrances that didn’t meet my expectations was Tom Ford Oud Wood. My co worker begged me to but that over Noir Extreme and I am so happy I didn’t listen. I tried to put it on and wear it whenever I seen it on the shelf and never could get with it. At first, I thought the same was true with Aventus but as I kept wearing, and with the cologne out I love it now. But oud wood….yea no thanks lol
Bentley for men intense is just horrible, inky chemical spray 😢. Just got this bottle today. (Edit) tried this perfume again this morning and it’s grown on me, I like it. It’s a different vibe to what I have been used to but it’s not bad.
I've only really "blind bought" two fragrances solely based on 'hype'.... Bentley for men Intense and Ferragamo F Black. I love both and both worth the hype!
Elysium: absolute scrubber for me. Opens with grapefruit then quickly devolves into vetiver. It smells like a wet, musty sock. I’ve tried to make it work but I absolutely hate it. Would be willing to trade.
Seriously, it got so much unanimous hype that I considered a blind buy. Luckily I just happened to be buying a lot of samples that day so I tossed 5ml a sample of Elysium in my cart. It smells like I found it at Ross. Even if it cost $30, I’d still rather buy a random Armaf fragrance that I’ve never heard of and hope I get lucky
@@gprince7953 it was so weird. I've had it for a while. She did initially say it smells like "Vicks", but people have spoke about the menthol, Eucalyptus opening with that and Layton, so I got that, but I was really shocked whith what she said. Makes me want a bottle of Layton to see what she says.
I get heavy menthol with Detour as well but don't mind it. I have a Layton sample and a detour bottle, and having worn them at the same time, one on each arm, they're very similar but perhaps Layton is more "well blended" as they say. I'm planning on ditching the Detour for a full bottle of Layton soon.
Khamrah lived up to the hype. I need a backup. Did not live up to my expectations: Moustache: Smells like pepper bomb. Not big on patchouli. Eylsium: dead fishes. Missoni PH: NOT remotely BDC. Oud Wood: first smell was feces. Second smell was dark dry wood. Now i'm just meh on it.
Recently bought Rasasi Hawas and I feel it may be over hyped. It’s suppose to be a powerhouse in projection and performance but it’s not the case for me smells nice and citrusy but as far as everything else it was just a let down couldn’t smell it after a while on my arms and wrists only inside of my collar where I sprayed it on my chest
Cedrat Boise is one of those frags that smells different to yourself on skin than in the air. I was catching an amazing musk scent at work and realized it was the cedrat boise that had rubbed off on my work vest from the day before.
Compared to Le Male Le Parfum, I prefer Prada Luna Rossa Black. The vanilla in Le Male Le Parfum is too harsh on my skin. Prada is so smooth. I also prefer Stronger With You and its flankers over spicebomb extreme.
I don't like neither Dior homme intense, sauvage edt, PDM layton, D&G light blue, mfk BR540, Tommy impact intense edp, or Armani code absolu etc... I think ysl la nuit de l'homme and bleu de chanel smells ok, but are still way overhyped. But there is some frags that actually deserves the hype like D&G the one edp, Xerjoff naxos, lira, and italica, YSL tuxedo, Versace Blue jeans, and man eau fraiche, widian London, and Creed aventus for example.
Totally agree. I only use Wave when heading to the gym or the beach. Parfum I like way more,..I feel that if they had tweaked it just a tiny bit, it would have been an absolute hit fragrance.
Intense Cerdrat Boise for me is a failure. For extrait...should be strong as vinegar but in 3h is gone. Smells amazing. but for the performance and the price...noope !
I guess the scents need to breathe once opened. Some need to macerate with time. I have given a handful of scents away because they were just not to my taste. Especially even over time and repeated use.
Paco Rabanne Ultra Red was disappointing for me. Having seen your review and recommendations on it I expected it to be long-lasting like angel man but sadly it doesn't last more than 2 hours off my skin. It just sits on my shelf now because I don't know what to do with it. So disappointed 😞.
Unrelated but a question for everyone. I'm new to this and just fell in love with light blue. I've got intense and the original should I go forever or sun next? Is the coconut noticeable in sun?
Dont blind buy neither, next time you are shopping at the mall spray one on and at the end of your shopping you will know if its for you. Summer Vibes is nice too.
Ash, you nailed it when you said you expected the Encre Noir line to be heavily mentioned. Tried the OG and the Sport version and the two of them compete for the worst scent I’ve ever worn. Felt like I was wearing essence of mothballs.
@@nickkovalenko2891 layer Encre Noire with Club De Nuit Intense Man? I have to try that but which one goes on first or that doesnt matter? Only asking cause I dont layer my fragrances and dont even know if it makes a difference what goes on first...
I am surprised at the dislike of the EN line. I understand not liking the OG or Extreme as they are earthy. The Sport version is so easy to wear, fresh and clean. Makes this hobby interesting all the different opinions.
Bentley for Men Intense is extremely similar to Monsieur by Frederic Malle It is fantastic for that price point; it is actually slightly more wearable than Monsieur to
Got a sample of Ganymede due to the hype. Smells like nothing I own and nothing I’d ever wanna own as well. So off putting to my nose but I do see why some would enjoy it, if that makes sense.
Dude I'm broke most of the time the peeps in Sephora shoo me. 😅 Swiss Arabian, Arabian Oud and Abdulsamad Alqureishi decimates my savings evertime they hild a sale in my place.😆
Tell me about Pure XS by Paco Rabanne. I got the 100ml bottle blindbuy and not for me really. My girlfriend said if I continue wearing this she will measure a 2 meter distance with a stick😂😂
Agree 100% with your gf - smells like stinky tree sap to me - wretched stuff. It's one of the few colognes I've wanted to scrub off my body ASAP. Luckily, I got a small sample and didn't blind buy.
I have 8 fragances, and of those, Wanted By Night and Montblanc Explorer are the only blind buys, ironically, Explorer became my favourite and Wanted By Night the only one i dind't like, i gifted to a friend actually, my girlfriend didn't like so much also.
BMI?!...Heresy! I was not found of Davidoff Zino after hearing repeatedly how luxe and classy it was. I only get raisins and medical gauze from it..maybe a bad batch
Bentley for men intense is great BUT overhyped and is so unwieldy. The way the fragrance community has hyped it for years makes you think you could wear it every day but you absolutely cannot. Only special occasions and not for everybody. There are much better daily fragrances from Bentley like for men absolute.
Prada L’homme Intense just came back in stock on FragranceX this morning for the first time in ages, alas I didn’t wait and snapped up 100ml of L’homme L’eau recently instead, and I still have a 50ml of original L’homme. I can’t justify another 150 bucks out the wallet for it, even though I’ve wanted it for ages and there’s no knowing when it will pop up again…
Lalique Black in White EDP is superior to Al Haramain Detour Noir... The house of Lalique is in par with CHANEL, DIOR, YSL, GUERLAIN, Louis Vuitton, etc... Al Haramain is a low quality house in par with ARMAF, AFNAN, AJMAL, etc... Lalique Black in White smells like PDM Layton as well [it smells higher quality]. Plus the bottle looks way better... The bottle of Al Haramain Detour Noir looks horrible.
I finally got SBOY by Draco (after it floated around in DHL's system for over 3 weeks 🙄). Bought this as a blind buy because of CurlyFragrance's rave reviews. Honestly, this stuff smells like Johnson's baby powder. It straight-up smells like I successfully changed a diaper and now baby is happy, I dunno. Maybe I need to give it some more wears, my nose isn't all that refined. On the flip-side of that, blind-bought "Via Cavour 1" by Xerjoff because of Eau d'Erica's rave reviews. I wore it on my first date. Now I have a girlfriend and I have to buy a new shirt because she stole mine
That’s why blind buys are a hit or miss.. I consider getting a sample of sboy too. Try it in different weather and see if you like it more or not or maybe someone compliments you on it.
Some of Curlys hyped ones are just enjoyed by Curly 😂 i wouldn't like smelling like a diaper either 🤣 I had an unfortunate effect from narciso rodriguez bleu noir edp that she hyped up on my skin it turns into a female sweat body odour smell, obviously she's a woman and probably doesn't get this effect, the bleu noir extreme edt is fresher and don't turn to female sweat body odour smell it's a better one for me but she still recommends the edp i think she wants us men smelling like female and baby diapers 🤣
I remember using Dior Sauvage Edp for the first time, I thought 😱 Fa-ah what kind of fragrance it was, as if 2-3 different colognes or perfumes 🤢🤮 were mixed, and then Johnny Depp and so on. As time passed, I felt real power and masculinity, which greatly complemented my image, I remembered the Dior advertisement where Johnny at night in the desert in tattoos and wooden bracelets refuses him. I thought, "Yes, this is the way to go" 👍😎🖤🏴☠️💯
I'm always reminded of bus stops in Britain when I think of Johnny Depp and Sauvage together. Almost every bus stop advert of Depp prompting it got vandalised to say Sausage, and it made me laugh every single time I saw someone had done it.
cultural differences is perhaps the reason for extreme results. for example a north east asian might not like over powering fragrance as their body scent could be different from southern asia, south eastern asia, europe , oceanic, or america. in my opinion, that is why frangrance which try to market in northeastern asian tends to wash down the concentration and the performance.
I love my cedrat boise then new batch aventus. Armaf cdnim limited edition smell exactly like aventus and better longetivity. Dior home intense is the best I have, in my opinion its far better then all my niche. Montale intense cafe few years ago hyped so much, and I copped but I think its not worth the hyped.. Sorry for bad english
Bro! Prada L`Homme intense is BACK!!! I just got me one.. They told me that the ingredients were not available. I’m living in the middle east🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Le male Le parfum is one of those fragrances that can cause diabetics to go into shock. The sweetness in that one is really pushing the line. Thankfully the line is really flexible.
The only fragrance I have ever gotten that I hated initially, and still hate, is Versace l’homme.. besides that, I have come to appreciate everything else I have personally purchased
That's too bad man. I got it in the mail, sprayed it on, walked into my wife's office and she was like 'Wow, that's fantastic. What is it? I haven't smelled that one before'. True story.
It was Cedrat Boise, Dunhill, and Bentley for me that I did not like when I got samples but they grew on me a bit after time but I’m still not a big fan
Bentley Intense - I'm ambivalent on that one, I don't dislike it, but I don't like it either. It's just there. I do agree it's high quality though, especially for the £15 I paid. CDNIM - Not a fan, but I don't like Aventus either so I don't like any of the Aventus 'tributes.' Detour Noir - No idea, I've never smelt it, I do like Leyton though. Dior Homme Intense and Parfum - DHI is a masterpiece, Parfum, I can take or leave, I'd always pick Intense over it. Cedrat Boise and CBI - The former is great for a niche starter, the latter I prefer but after my bottle is gone I won't buy it again. F Black - No idea, haven't even tested it, one bad Ferragamo put me off the house forever and it's not a brand I see anyway, I'd have to search for it. Missoni Wave - Smells really cheap to me, had a tester, didn't even use up the 2ml. Ganymede - Hadn't heard of it until this video. Stronger With You Absolutely - I only like Leather in that line. Mercedes Benz Club Black - Reminds me of By The Fireplace, which I have, so I've never owned MBCB. Terre D'Hermes - Masterpiece. Was my signature scent for a long time until it got really popular. I prefer the Parfum version over the EDT though, I know most are vice versa. Versace Dylan Blue - I don't like it, I don't like any Versace fragrances, something in them disagrees with me. Eros Flame is OK. Acqua Di Gio Profumo - I prefer Profundo, but all the ACD are legendary. L'Homme - Reminds me of YSL Y Parfum, which I have, so I don't own the Guerlain, I don't like having too many things that resemble others. Wanted By Night - I detest it, it's cheap and nasty smelling to my nose, definitely one that I bought purely because of all the hype and I was hugely disappointed with how much I hated it. Prada L'Homme Intense - For me their best, although I do love Luna Rossa Carbon too. Le Male Le Parfum - I don't like it, reminds me of daft young lads in the early 00's, one of which was me, too similar to the original. Ultramale, now that I like, it's far enough removed from the teeny smelling Le Male for me to enjoy. Le Male and LMLP in my mind are there with Joop as babies first fragrance.
Bentley for men intense is ultra, mega, giga masculine scent! I understand why citrus, aquatic and blue lovers especially younger ones hate it, but that thing is phenomenal, for real men and gentleman. End of story!
6:46 I agree. My exact reaction to smelling f black after blind buying it was : ((🗿)) Ya know what??? I’ve hated every Salvatore ferragamo fragrance I’ve smelled now that I think about it. It’s a shame, they’ve got some cool bottles.
I really like Bentley for Men Intense and Ferragamo F Black. For me they delivered.
Terre d’ Hermes edt blew my mind when I sampled at a Sephora. Truly a masterpiece

I agree with that not powerful at all but, may increase as the bottle gets older.
Khamrah deserves the hype, i love it
It's special for sure.
I'd rather smell Khamrah in the air than AventAss, Baccarat Rude or Instant Flush a million times over 😂
Cedrat boise is top 3 comp getter for me easy.
Cedrat Boise is one of those frags that smells different to yourself on skin than in the air. I was catching an amazing musk scent at work and realized it was the cedrat boise that had rubbed off on my work vest from the day before.
had the same thing happen to me! was smelling cedrat boise at work ONE DAY after i wore it and thought someone else was wearing it too 😂😂
I loved F black when I smelt it
F black and bentley for men intense are the most overhyped..i sold my f black bottle the 2nd day after getting it..
I tossed F Black in trash after 1st wearing . First time ever done that !
Compared to Le Male Le Parfum, I prefer Prada Luna Rossa Black. The vanilla in Le Male Le Parfum is too harsh on my skin. Prada is so smooth. I also prefer Stronger With You and its flankers over spicebomb extreme.
Bentley Intense For Men = MASTERPIECE
I don't like neither Dior homme intense, sauvage edt, PDM layton, D&G light blue, mfk BR540, Tommy impact intense edp, or Armani code absolu etc...
I think ysl la nuit de l'homme and bleu de chanel smells ok, but are still way overhyped.
But there is some frags that actually deserves the hype like D&G the one edp, Xerjoff naxos, lira, and italica, YSL tuxedo, Versace Blue jeans, and man eau fraiche, widian London, and Creed aventus for example.
Prada Luna Rosa Black - I can barely smell anything after 5 sprays... idk what I am missing here
You been roped off
Missoni Parfum smells waaaaaay better than Missoni wave to me lol
Totally agree. I only use Wave when heading to the gym or the beach. Parfum I like way more,..I feel that if they had tweaked it just a tiny bit, it would have been an absolute hit fragrance.
Same here. 👍
Intense Cerdrat Boise for me is a failure. For extrait...should be strong as vinegar but in 3h is gone. Smells amazing. but for the performance and the price...noope !
Armani AdG Profumo - didn't do anything for me . Like Bentley Intense, reminds me of an amped up version of the original CK Obsession
I feel the same way about Encre Noire and its flankers. Mothballs outdoors...🤮
I put my EN in...the bottom drawer...the not wearable 😢
Try layering it with CDNIM. Makes it wearable.
Bentley for Men Intense is extremely similar to Monsieur by Frederic Malle
It is fantastic for that price point; it is actually slightly more wearable than Monsieur to
YSL L'Homme Bleu Électrique, hyped as a 10/10 fragrance. Blind bought it and it's just ok.
Parfums de Marly Layton .. smelled it cause of the hype Finally & it was Even better than the hype 🫡
Tell me about Pure XS by Paco Rabanne. I got the 100ml bottle blindbuy and not for me really. My girlfriend said if I continue wearing this she will measure a 2 meter distance with a stick😂😂
XS night is the frikkn bomb !!
Agree 100% with your gf - smells like stinky tree sap to me - wretched stuff. It's one of the few colognes I've wanted to scrub off my body ASAP. Luckily, I got a small sample and didn't blind buy.
Bentley intense is gorgeous. Addictive.
Zino smelled like old fruit scented potpourri on my skin absolutely 😅
Zino should have been called Old Man.
Bentley for men intense is great BUT overhyped and is so unwieldy. The way the fragrance community has hyped it for years makes you think you could wear it every day but you absolutely cannot. Only special occasions and not for everybody. There are much better daily fragrances from Bentley like for men absolute.
Agree BFMI is a hype beast and I would say it's very well done but I definitely can't stand it either. Pretty well put.
Un Jardin sur le nil

The worst two hyped frags are toy boy and Bentley Intense in my humble opinion..lucky I didn't blind buy them.
What don’t you like about Bentley intense
I need to get my nose on The Harmonist Hypnotizing Fire, I've been hearing 10/10 reviews and I dunno if I should pull the trigger.
I've got a lot of compliments from women wearing sboy by draco. The price was pretty high but if you're looking for compliments it'll work for you.
I'm disappointed in SUITS ... I ordered it in 2024 but gives me a headache...maybe I need to trade
And many call it that, by the way😅 Sausage 🤭💯
I was wearing Dior Homme Sport 2021 and my girlfriend sniffed the air and said “are you wearing bug spray?”
Choose only one,
Creed Original Santal vs Azzaro Wanted by Night
Keeping one thing as the number one priority,
Cinnamon?
If cinnamon is the number one priority, Wanted by Night; however, as much as I love Wanted by Night, overall Original Santal smells better IMO.
cultural differences is perhaps the reason for extreme results. for example a north east asian might not like over powering fragrance as their body scent could be different from southern asia, south eastern asia, europe , oceanic, or america.
in my opinion, that is why frangrance which try to market in northeastern asian tends to wash down the concentration and the performance.
ADG profumo i bought it blindly as it is really hyped , but i didn’t like it and returned it(:
Le male Le parfum is one of those fragrances that can cause diabetics to go into shock. The sweetness in that one is really pushing the line. Thankfully the line is really flexible.
The only fragrance I have ever gotten that I hated initially, and still hate, is Versace l’homme.. besides that, I have come to appreciate everything else I have personally purchased
I initially hated club de nuit intense man edp, but a few months later I put it on again and it became my favorite lol
@@K4inan that is still one I want to try. But haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
@@Commontator69420 It's just a more basic version of Dylan Blue.
Encre noir extreme and eros flame were two I was disappointed in.
Missoni Wave is a cheapie banger! Let my friend tried it and sprayed him up, he had a 20 ft scent trail!🤣
I got a 5 ml missoni wave tester after seeing so much hype.. Was utterly disappointed.. It is so generic like a lot which came before it
F Black was hyped by Jeremy 😅
You can buy Prada lhomme intense on Prada’s website in USA for $130/100ml
I blind bought PDM Sedley, disappointed to say the least. My wife didn’t like it either
That's too bad man. I got it in the mail, sprayed it on, walked into my wife's office and she was like 'Wow, that's fantastic. What is it? I haven't smelled that one before'. True story.
Whether you like the dna of BfMI or not you must admit that for the price it is very impressive. I personally love it.
CDNIM - Not a fan, but I don't like Aventus either so I don't like any of the Aventus 'tributes.'
Detour Noir - No idea, I've never smelt it, I do like Leyton though.
Couldn't agree more
Totally agree. I love it, but not everyone can pull it off..you need to wear it with confidence.
6:46 I agree. My exact reaction to smelling f black after blind buying it was : ((🗿))
Ya know what??? I’ve hated every Salvatore ferragamo fragrance I’ve smelled now that I think about it. It’s a shame, they’ve got some cool bottles.
CDNI opening is so metallic. I gave it away. The guy i gave it to loves the opening.
And aqua di gio Profumo is available again on armani beauty website again as of 7/19/23 in USA $174/4.23 OZ
I use my bottle of Prada lhomme intense to collect ambient dust while I wear the far superior original L’homme.
Describe how prada lhomme smells ?
i´m a hit or miss if i dont like it the first time i wont like the 2,3,4,5 time
