I have found that one cure for envy is to tell the person how much I admire and appreciate the good that they have.

What a wonderful summary. I'm having to deal with sibling envy and it's been something very difficult to overcome because my siblings (especially the older one) would be mean and resentful of my spiritual achievements with the result that if I was unable to to measure up such as paying my fair share regarding family responsibilities or giving expensive gifts over Christmas and birthday's resulted in such conflict. I would be accused of not paying for my fair share and so forth. There is always the comparisons and measuring of who gives what. I must add that I have always paid my way given gifts to the best of my ability even though it was not expensive gifts, but I always played my part. But I have come to see that you can never please someone who is dissatisfied with themselves and the best thing I have done is to release myself from my sibling guilt.
This talk gives much greater insight into this problem and it helps me understand my siblings better... and they are really projecting their stuff. Thankyou for sharing - much appreciated.

I think a lesson for me is to be grateful , always grateful for God's immense goodness. Thanks Fathers.

I would find myself highlighting the negative trait of one person when our group convo is about that person's (who is not in the group) achievement. It's official, I am an envious person ☹️
O Lord, cleanse my heart, I don't want to be envious, it is actually burdensome. 😞

Wrath is a so-called 'deadly sin', and yet the Bible often talks about the 'wrath of God', which either means that God is a sinner, or, more likely, a human invention.

You're at the right place to ask these kind of questions because the Dominicans know how to answer your question or doubt. I hope you can get in touch with them.
My own answer for your remark is that, we humans have a capacity of understanding, limitation, in which through our senses and levels of intellect we comprehend things. The Scripture clearly states that God is divine love, but also divine justice, and God's justice can be perceived by human beings, i.e. sinners, as "wrath" because if we cling to our sinfulness, which is embodied in us, it breaks apart before God's might.
The Bible is God's word written in human language, hence there are catholic understanding and ways of reading Scripture.

The "wrath of God" is justice. In the increasing evil of this world, I am grateful to know that in Him, at least, good will triumph.
