Thank you so much Depop for sponsoring todays video - i'm so excited to kick off the Cleaning Out My Closet series by selling these items from the Forever 21 x Barbie collection, and the items I bought when Felix (Pewdiepie) & Marzia launched Tsuki Market back in 2018.
I'll be selling these items on Depop to raise money for charity, but I won't be listing them just yet. I have SO MANY CLOSET CLEANOUT VIDEOS to come!! A friendly warning WELL in advance to anyone outside of Australia planning to order. Shipping (in my personal experience) from Australia to the US over the past year has taken anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months to arrive but it has ALL arrived, so please be patient and have realistic expectations.
At the beginning of the whole Covid fiasco I waited 6 months for an item from Australia to get to Canada😫😫😫😫
Same for shipping to Germany and I suppose other European countries in that area. Even just shipping from Austria to Germany took a lot longer than usual. I mean we are neighbors yet I still waited 2 weeks for a package from my friend from Vienna usually it takes less than a week.

If there's anything you want to keep but you feel guilty maybe donate whatever amount you would have sold it for. You shouldn't feel guilty though. You will be raising a lot of money for charity with the other things you are selling. You are doing a great thing x

Alex for the love of God you are allowed to keep the things you love, especially if you're gonna be doing a clearout every year or so! You don't owe it to anyone to donate your clothing and you're doing it anyway. It would even be more fun to watch the series if you had a stash of selected favorites you've decided to keep, that would be interesting to see!

Another thing you maybe could do for items you want to keep is to “buy” them yourself? Like come up with a listing price you would have posted them as and then put the amount into the collection fund you’re making. That way you can keep whatever without “ taking away from charity” because you technically sold it to yourself. (This would probably also help with narrowing down the amount of things you keep because you would have to decide if you wanted to “buy” each item again)

There has been one big theme rolling around Australia lately, apart from the 'panini', and that's violence against women. DV helplines have seen increased use because of the 'panini'. A charity that helps women and families that have left dangerous situations could benefit from some donations.

As an Aussie chic, I can certainly confirm that here in Australia the DV rate has skyrocketed to terrifying heights. We already had a very high rate of domestic abuse but I can say that a lot of it goes undocumented. Especially when it comes to violence against men, it’s very rarely even spoken about let alone reported. Unfortunately it’s represented as the boss chic, a notion that a fiery woman is somehow sexy and interesting. It’s disgusting how many women get away with been violent and abusive because a lot of people actually find it amusing. Abuse of anyone or anything is NOT acceptable in any circumstance.

I'm honestly surprised Depop helped you out. I had two separate issues where I paid through the app, and I never received any type of confirmation from the seller that they sent me my item, and I never received it (they were active accounts) and when I contacted the support team they said they couldn't do anything? It made me pretty upset at the time. But there are a lot of amazing sellers on the platform and at one point I would only buy my clothing from Depop.
Edit to say I did pay through PayPal. Be safe shopping online my dudes.
they might be afraid of her bc she has such a large social following? im not sure, but thats so upsetting. i deal with that on ebay a lot, when they seller is just too lazy to ship the item out, keeps putting me off, then nothing at all bc their account is in good standing and paypal released the funds immediately:) it sucks, but please always try to use paypal, as they have bangin CS that always have my back.
Yeah unfortunately it‘s really not the best, I would‘t have gotten back my money either if the depop payment wouldn‘t have been futher connected to paypal :/
this is why any wellversed seller will either only accept or strongly recommend Paypal.
@@sprinkles_091 they weren't able to get my money back. They were much more understanding than Depop though so I'll give them that. I ended up having to file a claim with my bank and they were able to reimburse me.
Edit to say I no longer use PayPal after a few other issues.

As a plus size woman my experience from forever 21: size up. My lower half is a 22P( 22 short) and my upper half is between a 2x or 3x depending on how the item of clothing is made. Exampl: I found a cute shirt on the hanger it looked big.. i tried it on i looked melted into it. I love it when you both do size comparison!! 😌
I'm on the other end of the size spectrum but have some curves and what I learned is that Forever 21 really isn't good at designing stuff for curves especially not for the smaller sizes.
They are one of these brands who think that skinny immediately also means no butt and like an A or at most B cup and definitely no hips either. I also have managed to hulk out of a blouse of theirs before with my wide shoulders.
I haven't found Forever 21 to be very hourglass shape friendly, I can only buy stuff that isn't really meant to be tight.

@@DieAlteistwiederda same sort of issue with most larger sizes. I carry weight on my breasts and midriff but have chicken legs. All plus size pants have MASSIVE legs. It makes my legs look like tree trunks.
Yea forever 21 clothing makes me look like a sausage being stuffed into a too small casing.
@@debshaw680 LOL my issue!!! My mom had a body to die for, big bum, nice legs, small waist. I got my dad's side body, no butt, big hips & "chicken legs" but when I turned 30 I gained tons of weight and none went to my legs or my butt, all to my mid section/hips and boobs. The only jeans I can wear are "jeggings" and even then the "skinny" legs look like bootcut on me. Esentially they look like a saggy diaper jco jeans on me.
I actually love the purple hair on her, with the blond her regrowth looked bad but with the purple the red regrowth looks so much better somehow!

The difference of cotton varies by where it was planted, if it goes to a country without a strong winter, like one in South America it creates poor quality cotton, so it is sold much cheaper, besides the dye can also modify the quality
Also the ways it was spun into fabric and what kind (elastic or not) influence the quality. And the thickness. Never thought about the growing itself making a difference but it does with other plants so makes total sense!
I thought also the textile quality depends on how thick the thread is spun, and how dense its woven? Besides the difference in fibre

I live in US & forever 21 sizing is SO off and strange. I literally try on different sizes of the same item when I find something in store because you just never know how it runs. Also, I have random f21 items ranging from sizes xs-xl that all fit the same if that tells you anything!
I can wear a small in some shirt a large in others, a medium in some, I normally have to size up or down or 3 sizes up
Honestly tag sizes mean jack. I just measure myself every few months so I am always up to date on my measurements and go by those numbers. Forever21, for example, I could be 1X or a 2X depending on the item.
Have you ever shopped at Torrid? I buy some very specific pieces from there (i.e. go w everything) and everything seems to fit me really well. I'm pear shaped and I rarely have clothing fit me correctly.

I find that Torrid and Hot Topic plus items fit me really well too, I can usually get a 3x top and a 4x skirt or something covering my hips and I'm good. Sadly I live in the UK though so have to factor in postage and customs when I buy stuff, which means I get less.

The sides to your hair are definitely different, I use function of beauty and I love it because when I have really bad psoriasis on my scalp I can’t bleach and change my hair color like I want to and I’ve had the same green in my hair for three months and it’s still as bright as it was before.
I definitely want that beret!! The clothes won’t fit me.
Do you find Function of Beauty is okay with your psoriasis? I also have scalp psoriasis and pretty much anything other than Head & Shoulders gives me awful flare-ups. I've always wanted to try Function of Beauty!

I think forever 21 has made some changes in fit and sizing since they got bought after the bankruptcy. At least for the straight sizes, xs-xl, the sizing they use now is definitely more in line with generic american store sizing, like target or kohls clothes. And its also no longer as geared towards petite frames. However idk if the actual quality changed much or if it will stay consistent with the more normal sizing.
I'd like to suggest the charity OMF, the Open Medicine Foundation. They research the disease I suffer from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). I have been ill for 8 years and have become bedridden since last year.
Biomedical research into the disease (how it works, how to diagnose it, how to possibly cure it) give me hope to get out of this situation and not spend the rest of my life in bed.
Sorry for the heavy story, I would just really love to spread the word of this charity so I and the other millions of patients can hold hope after the disease being ignored by the medical world for decades.
For those wondering, ME is also commonly called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, though referring to it as such seriously undercuts its severity, in my opinion.
@@uhohspaghettios2391 Yes I personally avoid the term because of the inaccurate and negative connotations. Chronic fatigue syndrome also gets confused with chronic fatigue which is seperate thing. But thank you for your comment and additional information :)
'Luckily' there has been a bit more research into ME recently. It has in the past been referred to as postviral syndrome as well because it quite often develops after an infection. Which is how we get to the recent side effect of the pandemic: long (haul) covid which is incredibly similar to ME. Possibly the same condition/a subtype of the condition.
But we still have an incredibly long way to go to develop a diagnostic test and find possible curative treatments.

I have issues with fatigue and always have, my my partner has insane issues, he collapses from exhaustion often and needs over 12 hours of sleep and wakes up tired. I’ve wanted him to look into it more to see if there’s a reason for his constant fatigue, if it’s okay to ask do you have any recommendations of how to get help? Even with my serious medical history I get dismissed as being lazy by most doctors and my partners fatigue issues are a lot worse than mine and he’s always had them they’re just only getting worse as time goes on. Thank you so much for your time.

Cotton is just the raw material that can be made into many different fabrics. The way it is woven can give cotton many different abilities and can make it look and feel very different. Think of it like this: rain, snow, hail and fog are all just water that had something different happen to it.

When I'm debating get rid of stuff I give myself 6 months to a year and if I haven't woren it by then I donate it. The exceptions being like holiday, seasonal, and nice occasion clothing. Otherwise I would've had to get rid of all my nice occasion clothing because of covid lol. This video was funny timing I started cleaning out my closet yesterday because it's getting time to switch out my summer for winter clothes and I don't want to store clothes I won't wear next year so I clean them out before I put them away. Glad we can clean out our closets together!

I have both the Tsuki Pink hoddie and the Black overalls. and literally, the overalls are the best thing ever! so I can totally understand why you want to keep them! I, unfortunately, have the hoodie in about 2 sizes too big so I don't wear it much but it is so comfortable for whoever is thinking about getting it!!

protip for fabrics from forever 21; most bottoms will have some spandex in them. So when you get jeans from there, they aren't just solely denim, which makes them more comfortable to wear. also since pretty much all bottoms have stretch to it, you can just go off of the waist measurements.

Omg I had just been DYING to get my hands on those pieces from tsuki. I remember seeing how expensive it all was and by the time I had saved enough money for something they had sold out. Hopefully I get the opportunity again and this time the money will be going to a good cause 😊
