    *NOTE ON THE CARGO CAPACITY:*
    I've spoken with Jayco's motorized director and have been advised the next season's updates will include a chassis upgrade to fix the low CCC issue on this coach!

    • @oldengineer1519

      That was the first thing I zoned in on and thought how could they think such a low cargo capacity was ok for a Super C.

    Big, beefy, rugged, but has the cargo capacity of a pop-up. Should be built on the F600 chassis for a bit more cargo capacity. That aside, I do like this RV overall. Oh and I'd go for the 12v fridge just because I can lol.

    Good work love that rig. as far as fridge option I would think 12 volt compressor fridge would be the meet in the middle best. Better volume and faster cooling then the two way. And improved off grid use than the residential one. the only other thing I would change unfortunately would be either a gm or dodge chassis

    • @mgkleym
      @mgkleym ปีที่แล้ว

      While I prefer the cummins i6 over the power stroke v8 the ram chassis unfortunately maxes out at 19500 gvwr. If you look at the specs that only leaves you with about a 1000 pounds of cc and its a problem. After this year jayco is going to the 22k gvwr f600 chassis for that reason. It's not just a jayco issue ether, dynamax builds a nice super c on the ram 5500 and the largest floor plan they offer is about the same size as the smaller seneca xt shown here and it suffers from the same low cargo capacity. While gm would be an option I don't think it's necessarily superior better than current ford diesel.

    Uncle Josh, Today’s review is the best one you've done in a while. Somehow, you seemed more laid back, and allowed the product too sell itself. This was a real treat, for me. I had always thought of you as more of a tour guide; pointing out good and bad features alike as we checked out each rig together. It was that quality which separated you from you all other RV reviewers. This dovetailed nicely with your proviso to viewers that they should not expect you to mention the msrp, and they would need to visit the company website for those particlars. Following the Bishs acquisition of Hayletts, I unhappily unsubscribed from your vlogs for a time because I felt you had lost this aspect of your persona. I now have hope I the guy who first got my attention years ago, has returned.

    I like this although I would want next years version on the f600. 12 volt fridge I like electric fridges but I want the purpose built rv one for something that's going to see some rough unpaved roads. I'd probably upgrade the electrics to 400 amp hours of lifpo4 batteries and a victron multiplus for fast battery charging off the generator and the ability for run both the cooktop and the convection oven at the same time. Even with the current 2k inverter thats only going to run one or the other it's really asking a lot of two 6 volts to pump out 125+ watts for as long as it takes to say boil a pot of water. I consider 4 6 volts the minimum for a full electric kitchen like that and you really want lithium cause peukert's law's pretty brutal for that size a load unless you have a huge lead acid bank.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the idea with this kitchen is using it in the parks or cooking outside the rest of the time. With a coach like this that feeling just kinda hit me

    So you are saying that you can drive down the road with the slides out

      You said unlike towables they assume youll be sitting in the slides while going down the rd

      @JoshtheRVNerd  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bryanmccue7780 thx for the extra info. Allow me to clarify
      No.. you wouldn't have the slides out when going down the road. Motorized RV slides are designed to be able to be fully occupied by passengers while retracted and the RV is in motion
      Towable RVs are not made that way.

    Not sure how you can tow anything and load this up for camping with that cargo capacity.

  • @kenp9469
    @kenp9469 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    They took, what could have been a great full time unit. And turned it into a weekend camper, for the rich. They would sell, many more units, with at least an all-in-one washer dryer. Also, at least 900 pounds more cargo capability. I have to call this one, a swing and a miss.

      A washer/dryer is available and the newer models are on f600 chassis’s.

    Horrible cargo capacity. If you have a full water tank, think boondocking, you use over a third of that. Add driver and 1 passenger with tools, food and you're at max. If you tow a trailer, the hitch weight would put you over. The F650 chassis would be better.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  ปีที่แล้ว

      See pinned note. They'll be bumping this at least from the F550 to the F600

    I personally think the 2024 Renegade Veracruz 30VRM 4X4 is a better quality RV even though it is smaller and has a murphy bed. And it is less expensive.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  ปีที่แล้ว

      Were they the ones with the slide lawsuit? I know it was a super C builder but cannot recall which

    • @rschmidt320
      @rschmidt320 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoshtheRVNerd Apparently several manufacturers are having problems with the Schwintek slides. Not sure about a lawsuit though. Seems folks are replacing the Schwintek slides with VROOM slides.

    It does look bad not having a MaxxAir style bathroom fan with a vent cover.

    For a 4x4 it sure doesn't look to have much clearance. Pretty sure our travel trailer has more. But I know a lot of manly men who would think this is the 💩😜
    I do so love the pull out pantry!!

    Towing 10k I wonder how many gallons per Mile it would get.
    I would put this in the class of temporary expedition off road BLM Beast.

    I dont know what they are thinking in marketing a go anywhere 4x4, provide a mere 200 watts of solar and probably 200AH of non lithium battery and expect you to use a convection oven and or electric cook top, but turn around and offer an LP fridge. Getting off the beaten path is for peace and quiet, NOT to run your genny every day. It needs the F600, LP fridge, LP cooktop ond oven, 3-4 times the solar and Lion batteries to even think about going anywhere would need 4x4. Isata5 30FW explorer pkg smokes this

      F600 chassis is exactly what they bumped up to thankfully. I agree with your comments in general. I think they have a neat concept here but it needs some fine tuning

    The generator location is a deal breaker. How many 65, 70, or even 30 year olds will want to crawl under the RV just to check the oil, let alone add oil? I don't like the folding bed either. The large window for a headboard sucks too. I get it that it's an escape window. Why not put an escape door in the bathroom? Most of us don't look forward to having to drive head first out a window, then falling 6 feet to the ground.
