*NOTE ON THE CARGO CAPACITY:* I've spoken with Jayco's motorized director and have been advised the next season's updates will include a chassis upgrade to fix the low CCC issue on this coach!
Love that you did one of 4x4 class C's. Please do some more of these. Show the head room in the cab bunk. 12v fridge and the induction cooktop are my vote.
Big, beefy, rugged, but has the cargo capacity of a pop-up. Should be built on the F600 chassis for a bit more cargo capacity. That aside, I do like this RV overall. Oh and I'd go for the 12v fridge just because I can lol.
These "smaller" 4x4 Super-Cs are my favourite kind of RV, this would be my ideal rig, off-grid mobile comfortable office, new view from the office whenever you want it!
Jayco should add a splashguard at the edge of the kitchen counter abutting the dinette - This will help to prevent water from splashing on the dinette.
I like the inside, especially the telavator across from the sofa. I might have trouble reaching the kitchen cabinet by the microwave. But, im what you all "Shortly McShortpants."
Good work love that rig. as far as fridge option I would think 12 volt compressor fridge would be the meet in the middle best. Better volume and faster cooling then the two way. And improved off grid use than the residential one. the only other thing I would change unfortunately would be either a gm or dodge chassis
While I prefer the cummins i6 over the power stroke v8 the ram chassis unfortunately maxes out at 19500 gvwr. If you look at the specs that only leaves you with about a 1000 pounds of cc and its a problem. After this year jayco is going to the 22k gvwr f600 chassis for that reason. It's not just a jayco issue ether, dynamax builds a nice super c on the ram 5500 and the largest floor plan they offer is about the same size as the smaller seneca xt shown here and it suffers from the same low cargo capacity. While gm would be an option I don't think it's necessarily superior better than current ford diesel.
Hi Josh, after looking at the exterior, i half expected to see a gun rack as standard equipment 😅. Nice RV, would go for the 12v fridge myself. Thanks for the video.
Uncle Josh, Today’s review is the best one you've done in a while. Somehow, you seemed more laid back, and allowed the product too sell itself. This was a real treat, for me. I had always thought of you as more of a tour guide; pointing out good and bad features alike as we checked out each rig together. It was that quality which separated you from you all other RV reviewers. This dovetailed nicely with your proviso to viewers that they should not expect you to mention the msrp, and they would need to visit the company website for those particlars. Following the Bishs acquisition of Hayletts, I unhappily unsubscribed from your vlogs for a time because I felt you had lost this aspect of your persona. I now have hope I the guy who first got my attention years ago, has returned.
Not being able to move between the cab and cabin is an issue. I also think the paint is pretty dark. I agree the toilet is pretty tight, if they were to move it just a bit toward the shower you could open the shower door for more room. Does this unit come in 2wd?
Have been waiting for Jayco to finally release a class C on the Ford F550/600 chassis like The Thor Omni/Magnitudes but the MSRP price point on the Jayco is bonkers. Thx for posting.
While I appreciate the options on the fridge, if it was mine I would definitely go 12V. Is is larger than the 2-way and more efficient than the residential fridge.
I like this although I would want next years version on the f600. 12 volt fridge I like electric fridges but I want the purpose built rv one for something that's going to see some rough unpaved roads. I'd probably upgrade the electrics to 400 amp hours of lifpo4 batteries and a victron multiplus for fast battery charging off the generator and the ability for run both the cooktop and the convection oven at the same time. Even with the current 2k inverter thats only going to run one or the other it's really asking a lot of two 6 volts to pump out 125+ watts for as long as it takes to say boil a pot of water. I consider 4 6 volts the minimum for a full electric kitchen like that and you really want lithium cause peukert's law's pretty brutal for that size a load unless you have a huge lead acid bank.
I think the idea with this kitchen is using it in the parks or cooking outside the rest of the time. With a coach like this that feeling just kinda hit me
Even though this thing has a 2000 watt inverter, if it only has 200 watts of solar it will not carry the refrigerator only! It should come with 600 watt solar to carry the load of the refrigerator [and] be able to charge the batteries!
I really like the idea of this one. I like the go out of the park options. If the price was closer to what I could see as possible it would be on my list. I don't know if the bed is usable in road mode with that slide. That I would change if it is not. I would also go with a bit more solar.
@@JoshtheRVNerd After looking around, it looks like you're right starting sometime in the 2024 model year, only the 29 came on the F550 chassis. I wish it was easier to find the CCC of the different models in their published specs. and I wish they'd put a normal bed in that shortest version.
