Same here! I've noticed in the variety of youtube videos featuring Filipinas that they're quite playful and impish in the right ways. Most women complain that "boys are boys". These women will help you make your cannon for pumpkin season.

My Filipino dad made a cannon for us back in the 1960s by drilling a bore down a piece of 4" solid steel round stock with a drill press, 20mm bore diameter and about 12 inches deep. Every day after work, he'd drill down more and more. A charge of black powder and anything you could put down the bore, a fuse and BOOM. It was highly illegal but we had fun. He also made a blow gun with darts made out of nails to hunt squirrels like he used to hunt Monkeys in Bulacan. God, I miss him.

I currently live in America 🇺🇸 but, I was born in the Caribbean. We have the same tradition of using bamboo to make noise while celebrating Christmas and New Years. We use the same method. As teenagers we had lots of fun with it. Seeing you do this takes me back to my teenage years. Thanks for sharing this🙏🏾

I am from Guyana and now 81. As a child, we also used calcium carbide to make noise. Bamboo only grew in the rural areas so, we punched a hole in the bottom of a tin can. Sealed the top after putting in the carbide with water, shook it up and put a match to the hole. Boom! More than one kid got hurt when the lid blew off. Thanks for the memories.

Love this. As an American, I approve of making homemade cannons. Definitely looks like so much fun. Growing up, we never used bamboo, since it wasn't available, but we did use large pvc pipes, and used various things like cheap hairspray or other flammable gases as the propellant. I hope to one day visit the Philippines again and make one of those bamboo cannons. Keep up the amazing content. Always love watching your videos.

Congrats on 2 years! Back in the day when cans weren't cheap aluminum, we used to use them to make tennis ball cannons. Open both ends of 5, keep the church key hole on the 6th. Duct tape them together, punch a nail hole in the end, a bit of lighter fluid and boom! If you soaked the tennis ball in lighter fluid first, you had flaming ammunition!

During the war, American servicemen made something similar, called a "Korat Cannon" (named after Korat Royal Thai Air Force Base, where many of us flew out of), and would shoot either wads of paper or pieces of fruit. down the halls of the barracks, usually after consuming copious amounts of alcohol. Our "explosives" were typically lighter fluid.

Loved the video Pea. Congrats on the two year mark. My father spent 24 years in the Air Force (explosive ordnance disposal) I was making my own black powder at age 12, from scratch using sulphur, charcoal, and potassium nitrate. I was at least smart enough to let my friend keep the shoe box full of the powder at his house since my Dad would have grounded me until I was old enough to collect social security, if he had discovered what I was up too. I always laugh now, when I hear on the news that the police have discovered bomb making material after they search a house. My father said that you can look under anyone's kitchen sink, bathroom sink or garage and find supplies to make an improvised explosive device. My father didn't just deal with the chemical explosive components though. Weapons of Mass Destruction was a regular subject in the house as I was growing up, as he talked about biological, chemical and nuclear systems also. It was never boring in my house. Take care of yourself Pea.

Great video Pea. Congratulations on 2 years of awesome content. Bamboo canons are also made in the Caribbean during festivals and Christmas. A lot of kids burnt their faces because of the back flame. I used a large tin can with a replaceable metal lid. A small hole was made at the bottom. I would put the stone of carbide and add water. Quickly close the lid and laid the can on its side. Flame to the hole and kaboom! Lid didn't go far since it hit the exterior walls of the yard. What great fun. 😊

When I was a kid, we put together multiple tin cans cutting off the tops (like the fiber tops), loaded up a tennis ball and used lighter fluid to fire 🔥 our cannons! So much fun!

When we were kids we made Polish cannons. Connected beer cans or tennis cans together We used tennis balls with some fuel on the ball. Yes flaming golf tennis ball in the air We weren’t the brightest kids in the neighborhood lol

I used to live in a house that had a little bamboo grove. When we trimmed the bamboo we'd cut it into the individual sections and let them dry out. Then throw them into the campfire. The air pressure would build up until the section burst and scared everyone.

I really enjoy watching your videos where you are at home making items learned from your childhood days. I grew up the same way making my own toys from pop shots, to zingy's and even parachutes for my little green army men using the end of the bread bags. Too many items to list here, but I LOVED my childhood days in the Caribbean . I enjoy seeing your transformation and you have come a long way but I miss seeing you in your natural surroundings enjoying the simple things in life. Please more throwback videos!

Surprising what can be achieved with a big chopper, coloured balls and some effort, hardly a concealed weapon though, Amazing to see just how straight and rigid they were and and watching you make them all shoot their load in just a few minutes was entertaining. Thank you.

Bill and Ted reference, nice. I have been with you on this channel from almost the beginning. Seeing how successful you have become makes me proud about myself, I can say, I knew the Pea since her first few videos. It was actually your ending video as the bar tender that got me to really notice, I thought, she is clever and cool.
