  • Corona pruner sharpening in tuneup is demonstrated step-by-step.
There are many ways to sharpen a pruner but there is none that is better than this by taking the blade out and absolutely flattening the back and then honing the edge as well as flattening the stationary edge which is also referred to as the anvil.
A flat diamond plate and a diamond honing tool are used to achieve the final result. Oil application is also demonstrrated.

Thank you for your video. However, regarding 1:13 & 11:33, that 10 millimeter retaining nut is not "Nylon". Instead it is made of steel. This is because nylon is plastic and would be too soft to withstand the rigor of retaining the pivot bolt. You can verify that the nut is made of steel by confirming that a magnet is indeed attracted to the nut. On the other hand, nylon or plastic is not attracted by a magnet.

Thank you very much for your comment. Yes, you are right. It is a steel nut, but it is a locking steel nut and I believe has a nylon insert to prevent it from changing position. Thank you again. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.

Is the handle made of plastic?

No, the handles are steel. They’re covered with the rubber coating though to make them more comfortable. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.
