He’s a really cool dude that grew up with pretty bad influences, he was a drug user, I was too, dude flipped his life around, sober, and lost a massive amount of weight, is the drummer of probably the most promising death core band ever. Dude, I’m proud of you Austin.
@@wmbmatt Doesn't matter if it's a sample, its sounds great. I'm sick of hearing sauce pan snares in metal, I want the snare to hit so hard it makes me blink every time.
Triggers are cheating? Hahahahaha. No, it means that you have to be that much better and cleaner to be able to actually use triggers. If there any inconsistencies with notes you'll hear it.
He's using the triggers as a crutch. If you were to take them out, his playing would sound pathetic. He's using double strokes to push notes through, but the amount of notes doesn't matter if all you hear is accent-tap double strokes, lmao.
I appreciate the work of a good guitarist (or take any other instrument) but seeing someone play drums like this is just breathtaking. It never ceases to amaze me what a drummer can do with both his hands and something totally different with his feet.
I just seen them and this man is legit. 1,000% has the same energy in every track as he does live and when I got to talk to him he was such a down to earth dude and I had an amazing conversation about how music is taken and how people feel while listening to it
@Dr S4T4N First of all: are you kidding!? What an idiotic thing to say, it is showing how much you actually need to get your head screwed back on, or perhaps it would be such a waste of time and effort, because second of all: You are showing just what an ignorant overbearing and so immensely full of yourself that I have to petty you..what an embarrassingly stupid comment.. do you feel proud of the shere disrespectful behaviour you seem to feel entitled to be that moronic. Sheeeeeeiiitt. I’m a metalcore guy in general, but deathcore has to be the most impressive version of metal. Absolutely pushes the limits of instruments’ capability.
I’m really gonna have to work on my double strokes, also that snare sample is amazing. I can only imagine how it must feel to play an acoustic kit, and hear that in your in-ears, like some cosmic Greek god of the drum.
It's AMAZING how he can play like this, all those songs, almost ever night. Sick, or hungover or tired at the end of the tour. I've seen lorna in Peoria Illinois & they are a TIGHT band. All them extremely talented
Being a drummer….and idk if this goes for any other drummers out there….let’s all just appreciate the fact that this man is double kicking, insanely fast….AND IN FUCKING SHOES…HOW…??
This album was your guy’s best work to this day, and blasting an innocent man like that left a salty taste in my mouth. Will is the saving grace for me in this band. Considering most of pain remains sounds the same. Immortal only had 2 similar sounded songs and that’s the breakdowns in immortal and king ov deception.
Can someone explain to me how his pedals work and how he changes from double triggered from single triggered so quickly, it also looks like both pedals can be doubled??? How does it work?!?!?!?!?
Just think.... one day, we'll be able to look at our grandkids and tell them we lived in the age of Austin Archey, Mario Duplantier, and Dave McGraw, amongst some of the greatest drummers to ever bless our existence. I don't get it. I am looking at 1:26 and I hear the kicks double in speed but if I look at the left beater it clearly doesn't speed up at all. The feet lower and the beaters get closer to the drum, but they aren't actually hitting the drum any faster. What am I missing? Edit: Nevermind! In .25x speed I can see the heel-toe offset and eat foot is now doing a double for each hit. I never quite understood how this technique worked but not I see. Awesome!

I now find my self saying that about Immortal and Fleshcoffin lol
Immortal is good band. this makes good Black Metal drumming too.
those doubles on the kick are absolutely insane.
Austin kills! I like the double bass bursts in the breakdown.
I knew I was gonna see you in this comments section brother 🤘😁
How was that blast for you watching this video?
Austin was always a skilled player and has received a good amount of flack over the years, it's awesome to see his skill grow and playing expand.

The snare bit at 2:44 is nuts! Singles in the right swapping to singles in the left at an insane speed! Very cool section!
I have listened to so much Lorna Shore for the past year. Rad.
Austin's foot work is UNREAL!! Freaking awesome
It just sounds amazing. I love it
Has anyone told him how much of a beast he is? Especially with the new EP. Dude's a beast
I don't know the term, but my favourite part is when he plays the beginning of the chorus a little bit different at 2:35
Absolute genius!
I love that too, although I can’t hear it as good on the album. But I’ve watch it 100 times. 🤘🏻
Austin, to say that you're an outstanding drummer is a heck of an understatement. My God what a talented musician you are.
Sound of that snare is just evil i love it
