    I really appreciate all the hard work you are putting into this kit as I am about 1/16 of the way into this same build including all the photo etch parts, and this will help me out tremendously in this project. I wanted to do the Arizona because most every one does the Might Mo and I wanted to build the one that really made a historical mark in history, even if it was in a terrible way to get there. So thank you very much for your effort in bringing this to us.

      Whoa! Thanks Rich! That means a lot to me. Feel free to send me an email any time and I'll try my best to help out if you have any questions!

      @@TheMidwestModelShop You have already helped me out a lot just with the videos you have put up. The first problem I was having was where to put the black oil line on the side of the hull ( this is funny considering I am an ex navy person, but each ship is slightly different ). I will diffidently contact you when not if I have any problems because we all know there will be problems weather or not we want them. Your videos have inspired me to restart working on my Arizona to get it complete, I have an idea of building the Arizona Memorial in 1/200 scale and putting it next to the finished model, kind of like a before and after tribute.

    Thanks for the tips. One day I would love to build one of these. Looking amazing!

    Now you know why navies started moving away from tripod masts. Fun fact: This part of the Arizona makes an appearance in the movie Midway with Heston and Fonda. They reused scenes from Tora Tora Tora and the tower shows up as the Japanese attack the island of Midway where no US battleship participated, least of which was the USS Arizona. I love the movie but the scene makes me chuckle.

    Over 10,000 views and only 166 likes (including mine ☺), I really don't understand people.
    Anyway I, for one, am finding this build fascinating. I don't have the movement in my hands to tackle anything this fiddly but I'm thoroughly enjoying watching your progress. The attention to detail is amazing and it's really starting to take shape now.
    Good Luck as you progress with the build.
    All the Best,
    Dougie.

    As you folks in the US say - awesome work!
    Like the previous poster said I do not get why you do not get more likes, it takes a nano second to do. When I consider the huge effort you put into your modelling and videoing, its truly inspiring. Even more difficult to understand are the thumbs downs 🤔
    Anyway, all the very best from the UK, Dave

    You think that is is time consuming, try the 1/350 ARIZONA and the tiny Edward parts. I have tried a plastic mast then a brass rod mast and finally back to the kit parts. Very frustrating to be sure. Applaud your patience, Ben!

    I don't get this Ben.. I have this kit and am back working on it now with the Ka detail set and some Eduard. Your kit is different to mine?? I don't have the raised area on the main deck that is fouling your wood deck and i just noticed your main upright for the rear tower is different? They are still called E14/15 but they are a different shape on the ends?

    • @TheMidwestModelShop
      @TheMidwestModelShop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Whoa! I’m not sure what to say about that. It should be the exact same kit. I didn’t have the KA parts. My email address is TheMidWestModelShop@gmail.com if you wanna send some pics, I’ll compare it to mine. I’m not aware of Trumpeter making any changes.

      I’ve seen in previous build forums that trumpeter must of redid the tooling for the kit. A lot of people were showing two different setups. One kit has a complete hole in the center of the deck and the other doesn’t
